Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Y might be a tough one …. You never know
Can’t say yodeling don’t care for it🤣🤣
To go with Slo’s pole today I definitely say YouTube!! Very grateful for that

Yard - i’m grateful for that but right now now I’m having war with mine so we’re not on good terms right now but I’m still grateful to have one where else could I potty my dog 🐕??

Yearn - we often yearn for things and that can be good and bad - I’m grateful for yearning - and learning which things I should be yearning for !!! May take getting them to find that out - as my mother ALWAYS said - don’t wish for something to much you just might get it - took me years to understand this !!! I said it to my kids and just like me as young adults they have not grasped it 🤣🤣

Which leads to Young at heart ❤️- that comes late in life when you have grasped the above and now know better and life seems better -( hopefully ) you know your yearnings and what to wish for - good health that’s what !!!

Yatch - so I can get to my beach 🏖️!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Youth - Even if it doesn't last long, it usually makes for fond memories and it's something to appreciate in the various children that come into your life once you've entered adulthood.

Yellow - One of my favorite colors. It's bright and cheery with a lot of pop in the brighter shades.

Yellowstone - One of our favorite places in general and currently my favorite national park.

(Tues, 9/17) - 3 things you're grateful for beginning with the letter Y

1. Yellow - such a cheery color!

2. Youth leaders - one of my youth leaders from church when I was growing up just passed away. It made me think about how important those people are in our lives

3. Yummy - grateful for yummy foods! I guess they would be easier to say no to if they weren't so yummy though!

Yes: there is a story about when John Lennon went to an art gallery where Yoko Ono had exhibitions and one of them was a ladder and taped to the ceiling was a little piece of paper that said Yes. He said that if it had said no, he probably wouldn’t have been interested in her. Saying yes to life, and to those I love, is important to me.

Yet: The power of yet is an important concept to me for so many reasons, mostly having to do with education, but even in my own life. When a student says they can’t do something, say the word yet. You can’t do it yet, but you will!

Young At Heart: My DH and I sang this to his mom at her 65th birthday party and I have always loved this song. I have the Frank Sinatra version in my Liked songs on Spotify. It’s always a good reminder, fairy tales can come true

I love your "yet" Bluecastle! I remember years ago reading in one of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books, a story about an elementary school teacher and her students. The class held a funeral for the word, "I Can't." By my faith, "I can," is so much more powerful and true. I also believe in all of kind you :)

My blood 🩸- OK I know that sounds weird but I’m stupid and thought that you know you have on average 8 to 10 pints of blood and I figured oh hey you can lose quite a bit of that and you’ll be fine I was so wrong and I lost a lot of blood after surgery once and I didn’t realize I had lost so much blood and let’s just say it was a lot more serious than I thought ! So I’m very grateful for blood 🩸

All the red vehicles 🚗 I’ve had - loved every one of them always grateful for my car 🚗

Steak 🥩- love my steak barely cooked I take having my steak raw seriously don’t mind it bloody when I say rare I mean RARE flick a Bic under it a few seconds and slap it on a plate I’m good 👍❤️

❤️Love.

Dad's red car that allows him to get to needed places. God willing later this year, it will transport me, too. Memories of my beloved grandma and her old red car which became mine for several years.

Our couch is red and both dad and I have red sweatshirts. Red is a favorite Christmasy color of both of ours.

::MickeyMowears red shorts and our friend pooh:a red shirt.

My vehicle - Technically, it's in the red family, but it's one of those colors that shifts based on light. It's officially "sierra burgundy," but several people have called it purple and sometimes it looks brown.

College - DD18 is at a red school and my parents also went to a college represented by red.

DD15s Current Travel Club - Their main color is red. While she does most of her own laundry, the whites usually fall to me. I am so grateful for the uniforms and uniform components that are red.

God Morning or Afternoon (depending on where you live)

Some quickie answers since I'm at work......

My haircolor - I use Loreal and the color is great and a great price.:thumbsup2

My Jack Sparrow Pez Dispenser - I'm looking at it on my desk now - I love it, and it has Pez in it :thumbsup2

Rubies - my favorite stone, next to diamonds.

The Red Sox... Boston girl here, and while I don't follow baseball like I used to, I'll always be a Red Sox fan. I can't tell you anything about the current players, line up, or even what position they are in, but there is nothing as sweet as the Sox beating the Yankees... especially in the Bronx!!

My red sweater. It's a pull over, with silver "shot" (hollow silver tubes about 1cm long) all over the bodice area. I love this sweater. I bought it for a holiday gathering at DH's former work, and it looked great with my black pencil skirt and heels. It also looks equally great with jeans. I just love it!

Fall leaves. Here in New England, we get red leaves in the fall. True red leaves, not those with an orange or bronze tint. OK, we get those too, but I love the true red leaves on my maple tree- and it's almost time!

Red glassware: I used to collect it. I love the way it looks when light shines through it.

Years ago, I was always partial to red candies, probably ingested way too much red dye! Jujubes, red (only) licorice, hard candies and cough drops, anything “cherry” flavored. (Now it’s cherry flavored ColdEeze)

Male cardinals, especially in the winter when they are easy to see in the leafless trees, evergreens, and snow.

Honorable Mention: Christmas decorations!!
