Hey DISboards Friends! The countdown is on to the grand opening of VDH and Amy and I will be there opening weekend.

We’re planning to get as much content as possible to share with you on DVC Fan and explore every inch of this new property.

Currently we have arrangements to film a deluxe and duo studio, but if anyone has any 1br, 2br, or Grand Villas that weekend and wouldn’t mind us filming and getting pictures of them please shoot me a message. We’d love to share as much as possible about this new resort.

Already is, there were a few days last week where it was gone within minutes (due to walkers, apparently), and there's ~3x as much inventory available as points sold.

I was just looking at the chart and April, June, and July 2024 look wide open. May 2024 is a bit more spotty in terms of 1 bdrm availability.

Hmm it does look like it, it is the first year so it might be variable. I am thinking long term if 1BR's would be in high demand here, especially since I would be using them during the spring breaks with all the kids which will take up the space.

Direct VDH can be used at VGC as well. I only do studios, but from what I hear it's a bit easier to get a 1-bedroom at the VGC than the studios. Perhaps you can try/waitlist for VDH and then jump to VGC at 7 months. Consider going somewhere in the middle, if concerned it's probably best not to get enough points for a 1-bedroom, but if that's what you really want you probably also don't want to have to few points to have the option.

Staying in a Deluxe studio Jan 15-16 and have waitlisted a 1 br for 1/11-1/15 as I am there for the half marathon.
I don't have high hopes of the waitlist going thru so I have a back up, and am also waiting for the regular rooms to open up to DVC (they released them to the general pop for 2024 over night).

Just checking on price comparisons for our Feb 4-8 2024 stay Duo Standard View. Thankful we can afford to buy in to VDH DVC. I still find it difficult to grasp a simple studio albeit DVC or regular hotel costs $500 and up. DVC Deluxe Studio Garden is tops at $842/nt (excluding taxes) and on the hotel side its the Premium Downtown Disney View at $725/nt (excluding taxes). Some serious coin if doing a 4 night stay. Including taxes you're looking at $3,000 to $3,500 for a four night stay in a studio.

Not looking to start a debate. Just sharing as I still remember when studios were something less than $100 to $200 a night. I could see by 2030 some of these studios hitting a $1,000 a night.
