Hi all,

Looking for some opinions. We will be going to WDW in December and our twin boys will be 2.5 years old at the time. We own both the Maclaren Twin Triumph umbrella stroller and the Double City Mini GT. I think the City Mini will be a better stroller for the parks, but folding it on the busses and gate checking it concern me. I question if we should just bring our CM and risk it getting damaged or if we should travel with the umbrella stroller and rent the CM at WDW. We love the umbrella stroller, but I don't think the kids will nap in it very well if it were to be our main stroller at the parks. My mom will be with DH & I, so in the event we decide to split up the kids, which might occur once or twice, we will just rent singles at the park.

Any thoughts? Something else I should consider?

We bring our City Mini GT (single) and knock on wood, no issues with gate checking it ever.

IMO, the GT is a breeze to fold up on the bus. :goodvibes

We just got back from a trip last week. We rented a city mini GT for our kids (5 and 3). It was perfect. we rented from Kingdom strollers. It was clean and pushed GREAT! folded easily for the busses as well.
Just a side note: When we went when my kids were 1 and 3, we brought 2 strollers, Jeep cherokee sports. they were light and rode great also, just were a pain to fold both and hold both on the busses. If i did it over again, i would rent the city mini double.

Thank you so much for your responses. We used the double umbrella today and while it's great to transport and an awesome airport stroller, I cannot envision using it in the park. DH and I are tall so we need the height of the city mini GT.

I really appreciate the input! We will probably rent the double city mini GT at WDW (likely from Kingdom based on your recommendation). My friend just got back from vacation tonight and her uppababy lost a wheel due to damage when gate checking with United. Don't really want to risk that....

We rented the city mini GT double (also from kingdom, great service) and were very happy with it. My only complaint was the cargo basket under is small and almost impossible to access with 2 kids in it. But we packed all the stuff for under in a tote bag to pull out when ernhadnto fold. Worked great and it was far less of a pain than I envisioned on the busy Disney busses. We are going again this year and will be renting the same!

We are going at the end of Nov and plan on renting the mini double gt. We have a 6yo and 2yo do you think using the bus or driving our car would be best? Also, we will be renting from kingdom as well, do you think the rain cover is necessary?

As far as the rain cover... its free with kingdom strollers, so no reason not to get it, and when you park the stroller if there is a chance for rain, you might as well cover it just in case.

We're debating about buying or renting a double as well. I would rather buy one since it'll be more cost effective in the long run. We flew with a single last time we went, and didn't have any issues with it getting damaged. But we did have a bag for it and we did take off the wheels (pretty easy to do).

We had the exact same dilemma and brought our twin techno (a little more comfy than the triumph). To be honest, both would be fabulous options and fold easily. I'd go with whatever you think your kiddos would be more comfortable in. My husband missed the adjustable handles on the maclaren, but coped for the trip. Lots of the rentals are CMGT, so you just need something to identify it for stroller parking. One of my 2 yr olds decided he wanted to walk most of the trip anyways (and I mean 10-15km a day), so we actually had no trouble with the maclaren this trip.
