I just called and asked about how to move between AS Music to POP and was told to take an uber or Minnie Van. He stated that they only move luggage between resorts if is from a Deluxe to a Deluxe resort. Is this correct?

It has been a few years but we had our luggage moved from one of the All Stars to a deluxe one year. They will not transfer alcohol (if visible) and everything needs to be contained in bags.

Also, they will not transfer anything that requires refrigeration or freezing. You’ll need to bring those yourself, but once you bring them, Bell Services/Luggage Assistance will store them at appropriate temperatures.

Oh dear. Unless it is a question about hotel room availability, ticket availability, or prices anybody you talk to on the Disney phone lines (or Chat) is useless.

💯 you can transfer luggage between every Disney owned hotels (and Swolphin hotels too). I just transferred from Pop last week.

Stick to asking Q’s and doing research for your trip here on the DIS forums. The best part is if someone says something wrong, 5 people will chime in and say so, so you don’t have to worry about being given bad info!

I have heard the deluxe to deluxe argument before….
they also only really do it once a day it’s a hassle, and I think on purpose.
for the 15 or 20 bucks a mini van is i would do that ….. I would not use Uber…. I have had much better luck with Lyft at Disney

Fwiw, I’ve had great experiences with luggage transfer. I’ve transferred to and from deluxes, mods, values and Swolphin over the years. Throw an air tag in there and nowadays you’ll know exactly when it arrives at your next resort. You’ll be fine (just be prepared to receive your luggage as late as 6pm and don’t make plans that require access to your suitcase for the evening, I usually have mine by 4pm but it was 5pm once).

since I need to do that next month, when was the last time you did that?
we tried in February, deluxe to deluxe, we were told ok but only because it was deluxe to deluxe….

did the same thing in November and bell service had the bags from 9 am until 6 pm

We use to let Disney transfer our luggage but like the one post said it will come LATE!!! So we take a taxi to our next resort luggage and all!

I also would like to know when you last transferred from a Disney resort to the Swolphin, I’m sure I have read that it works in the opposite direction, but not to non-Disney owned resorts.

Last week. Pop to Swan Reserve to BWI. No issues from anyone. Just dropped the bags at Bell Services (luggage services at Pop).

For real??! We've been doing split stays for years but we've always avoided Swan/Dolphin because I thought they didn't do luggage transfers.

Last year in August my group of 5 called two UberXLs early in the morning, which brought our luggage from ASMu to the Poly. Took 10 minutes to drive over and 5 minutes to drop stuff with bell services, vs. possibly waiting hours for a luggage transfer by Disney staff. It made more sense for us, since we had a 7:30am Ohana ADR, rope dropped Magic Kingdom, and came back to the Poly midday for a nap once our room was ready and needed our luggage for toiletries and such midday. If you're not in a hurry to receive your luggage (maybe you're rope dropping and staying in the parks til close that day?), you could do a Disney transfer.

💯 One time I called the Swan guest services line at the hotel and asked about luggage transfer and they said they don’t transfer to Disney. Walked my suitcase down to bell services and they did. And the type of resort absolutely doesn’t matter. I’ve done value, mod and deluxe transfers involving Swolphin through the last couple years. Last week Pop-SR-BWI I even sent water bottle 6 packs with my suitcases each time.

We used it from ASMo to CSR a few years back. We were out in the parks all day and got to CSR around 10pm and our bags weren't there, they'd forgotten to move them. They did bring them over ASAP after we called and it only delayed bed time by about 30 minutes.

Exactly. It’s to each their own.

I despise schlepping around suitcases and water bottles and want the transport I get in the morning to be taking me straight to a park. Although I bail around 3pm, can’t do rope drop to close lol. Disney official checkin isn’t even until 4pm.
