So just wanted to reassure everyone, in my personal experience, that WDW is indeed a safe environment year round, including Gay Days.

Gay Days are traditionally built around the first Saturday in June. This year it is June 7, and following the normal schedule the designated parks are:

Thursday June 5, Animal Kingdom
Friday June 6, Disney Studios
Saturday Jine 7, Magic Kingdom
Sunday June 8, EPCOT

The parks are open to the general public, it is not a private ticket event, unlike at Disneyland.

While there are some private events, and one promoter is actually scheduling a week earlier than usual this year, including a private ticket party at
Typhoon Lagoon scheduled for May 30.

I'll be traveling with a friend, whose wife hates traveling, so he goes with me often. Also in my party will be his 16 yo grandson. We'll be at WDW June 4 to 11. While we are doing the parks, the only one we're doing on the designated day is Magic Kingdom, it's just the way our schedule worked out. I was also able to book the DVC Moonlight Magic event at Typhoon Lagoon for June 9. I've never been to Typhoon Lagoon, as I'm generally not a water park person, but the 16yo wanted to go. On a side note, Crush N Gusher at TL has a local connection near my home as it was built by the former NBGS, in New Braunfels, which owned and operated the Schlitterbahn water parks until the last few years, following a tragedy at one of their parks and they were sold to Cedar Fair, now Six Flags.

Remember ALL kinds of families, friends and groups will be in the parks, which adds to the overall atmosphere. And don't forget the various pride wall mural photo ops in the parks. :-)

Great idea to start this thread. Hopefully folks already have their travel plans made but there is still time if you haven't.

As Chuck mentioned above, you'll find a lot of the community in the MK on June 7th. You'll also find a lot of allies as well.

That picture is so cute! I hope you all have a great time!

This thread is quiet, isn't anyone else planning a trip during Gay Days?

Unfortunately we are just missing it this year, we had to choose between Gay Days and Flower & Garden and with the shortened festival we went with the latter. Bringing a first timer friend (also LGBT) and wanted to prioritize the festival. We are going home on the 3rd. :( I have a feeling she's going to get the bug though so it will definitely be on the radar for the future.

We had a wonderful time in 2023 though. We met so much wonderful family at MK that day. Ended up watching HEA in the plaza garden with a couple who traveled all the way from Brazil to be there and were also doing the dessert party. We also saw a double rainbow over Space Mountain. :)

I don't do the dessert party every trip, but I do it fairly often. The garden area is a great location, and you don't have to stake out a spot on Main Street or in the plaza hours in advance.

Love that picture. What a great photo op!

We refuse to travel to WDW during warm months so we won't be attending anything for Pride Month. Can't wait to see pics from those who go though!

Ally Here! We unknowingly planned a mother/daughter vacation from the 1st-7th! When the thought about the possibility of our trip overlapping with Gay Days, I was delighted. I would MUCH rather vacation with the LGBT community than that of the others. :) Can't wait for my rainbow Disney nails to celebrate! 🏳️‍🌈

So Saturday starts my window for booking Dining on our trip. I know we're doing Liberty Tree, but haven't made final decisions on any other venues.

Are you traveling with others?

Also, Wondering if there could be an informal DIS meet on the Saturday just to put a face with the board name.

I am traveling with a friend, since his wife isn't a traveler, and his 16yo Grandson. I'm all for a meet up, I'll let you know our free times after we get our dining booked.

I’m trying to talk my wife into going this year. She’s sort of a WDW fan but mostly it’s me pushing lol. I haven’t been to Gay Days in probably 16 years and told her how amazing it is to be surrounded by so many red shirts on Saturday so I hope it’s still like that! I’ll let you all know if (when!) we book! Cheers everyone!

I will miss Gay Days by over a month (going in July, taking my mom and my little brother for his last trip before he goes off to college, staying at BLT). But I'll still sport my rainbow Mickey shirt, the same as yours!

Relatedly: I have talked to DH about us going to the other coast for Disneyland's Pride Nights, so we're planning to do that next year. Just seeing the rainbow projections on Main Street would fill me with joy! I wish WDW did something like that, but I know the audiences (not to mention state politics) are just very different between DL and WDW
