Love this post so much! I was a theatre kid in high school and majored in it for awhile in college. We did Oklahoma, Guys and Dolls, and Godspell when I was in high school. Such fun memories!

I played in the pit orchestras (French horn) -- Princess and the Pea, HMS Pinafore, Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story

I was in Choir all four years of high school, but didn’t have time to join the Drama Club until senior year. We did the play Our Town in the fall and the musical The Sound of Music in the spring. I was in both, but not a leading role.

Minor (I'm not a singer) parts in Annie in 6th grade and Camelot senior year of high school. I would love to do something like that again!

No, I was a shy and quiet kid, not theatrical in the least, and it would’ve been way out of my comfort zone to perform on stage. The only play I was ever in was in elementary school, when it was mandatory for all 6th graders to participate in an annual production directed by the music teacher. I was in the background and had no lines.

I went to a performing arts high school so was lucky to be in quite a few things. My two favorites were Into the Woods and the Secret Garden.

I went to an all-girls high school with many more talented people than me. I did behind the scenes lighting for Carousel, and spotlight for the King and I (we imported males for a few lead roles as needed).

My middle daughter has an amazing voice and was just the Baker’s wife in her high school’s fall musical. There was some drama with the drama kids because the senior girls were not happy that she got the lead as a junior. She was in Mama Mia and Drowsey Chaperone too. In middle school she was Mary Poppins.

I was in drama too in high school but did plays not musicals. I was in a traveling one that went to middle schools that had scenes to inform about AIDS as a PSA.

I was in Sound of Music in middle school. There is zero question why I was picked to be Gretl. Was it my fantastic stage presence and singing ability? HELL NO!
I was chosen because I was the shortest girl that tried out to be an extra.

I moved to Arizona after that year and my theater aspirations left with the move. I had a higher calling ... to be at the top of the pyramid and went into the world of cheerleading.
