Did you go on the Disney website? I was on earlier trying to find renewal cost and the option was there. I couldn't do it because I don't actually have a renewal due right now. I think there are also time constraints but didn't pay attention to tell you what they were. Why couldn't I renew my Sorcerer Pass online? I had to call member services. I was able to do it last year.
I went on my Experience and the option to renew was there, however the only choice was the Incredipass even though it showed I had the Sorcerer Pass. I believe it stated DVC members had to call member services. The person at member service couldn't give me an answer on why I had to call.Did you go on the Disney website? Which really makes no sense. If they verify online for the initial purchase why couldn't the same verification be used for the renewal? I have no doubt that is what they said, but it really makes zero sense.....Verification is required because anyone can sell and no longer be a member with benefits during that year. That is the explanation I was given years ago when I asked why I needed to call in to renew and couldn’t do it online.
Verify for the initial but then you sell your contract a month later and no longer qualify for the discounted pass. If they let you renew online you could renew without being a member. Unless they change how they verify. It’s similar to receiving a dvc discount for merchandise. Used to have to show blue card. Then show in app. Now it has to be shown in the mobile wallet that shows yes. You would think the two systems could talk to each other so online could verify and free up taking MS time.Which really makes no sense. Nope, still doesn't make sense. Check a database online to see if I am DVC-Y at initial purchase. Check same database online at the time of renewal to see if I am still DVC-Y. If I sell in the year between purchase and renewal I am no longer DVC-Y and that should be reflected in the database.Verify for the initial but then you sell your contract a month later and no longer qualify for the discounted pass. It intrigues me (but doesn't really matter) because I don't understand a system that can check at initial purchase but not at renewal.Does the why really matter?

When I bought new last year, I had to stop by Guest Relations to verify before entering park the first time.It intrigues me (but doesn't really matter) because I don't understand a system that can check at initial purchase but not at renewal.
If I remember correctly, and it's been a few years, we had to go through DVC at initial purchase as well. As an owner for nearly two decades now, nothing has changed to my knowledge...it's always been done through DVC Member Services. It intrigues me (but doesn't really matter) because I don't understand a system that can check at initial purchase but not at renewal.
You used to have to, you don't any more (for the initial purchase). If I remember correctly, and it's been a few years, we had to go through DVC at initial purchase as well.
