yes, I was eves-dropping,
Don't we all? LOL
yes, I was eves-dropping,
So - you will leave the ranks of the White Card Resale Riff-Raff and join the Blue Card Bourgeois Bunch! My last update as a white card member is I was able to activate my kids sorcerer passes in mid December with no issue.
we’ll see how it goes for renewal…by that point we may sell our resale for one contract and buy direct to avoid all the hassle and scarlet letter of being white card members
The abandonment of the proletariat. Uncle Karl would not approve. So - you will leave the ranks of the White Card Resale Riff-Raff and join the Blue Card Bourgeois Bunch!
Never! Because I truly don’t care about “ranking “ among dvc. I just want to be able to use all the lounges and stop being told I’m not a “real” dvc member by the real bourgeoisie blue membersSo - you will leave the ranks of the White Card Resale Riff-Raff and join the Blue Card Bourgeois Bunch!
Given I’m a blue card and can’t even buy an ap I have to say it really upsets me when a white card holder tries to get a sorcerer pass
in my humble opinion anyone who owns a white card and has a sorcerer pass should have their pass revoked and sold to a blue card owner yet to buy an ap
if said white card holder wants to keep their pass they should be offered a final opportunity to buy 150 points direct or surrender the ap
im sure this is not a popular opinion with many but I really believe in right and wrong and fairness. I don’t skip lines as that’s not fair to those waiting, it’s rude. Someone wanting to cheat and get a pass they are not entitled to is neither fair, nor ethical
Any white card holder who was allowed to buy and activate the pass..that loophole does seem to have closed..got it because a CM chose to allow it.
Frustrating yes, but as we said many times in the thread, there was obviously a disconnect between the rules and what CMs were doing.
Now, anyone who did slip through and gets there to activate and is denied can’t be upset because they know they are not eligible..like the people I saw.
Just like all the rules. Only those with eligible memberships are allowed perks but what a CM does at the parks is up to them.
It's whatever Blue Card holders say you can or cannot participate in. Now I wonder what the hierarchy is for blue card members who got their card at 25 points vs 150 points. As a member of the People's Republic of White Card holders, is there a reference guide to consistently define "member" for the purpose of identifying exactly what I'm allowed to participate in?
I'm clear on APs, but not sure for lounges or other perks that may arise.

The only perks White Card holders are entitled to are:
Park Hopping (if it ever returns)
TOTWL (if it ever reopens)
DVD Rentals (if still available)
Things like dining/merchandise discounts, Epcot member lounge, special member only events, etc. all require a blue card. When it comes to dining/merchandise discounts, some CMs are just plan lazy and don't actually require the proof that they are supposed to look at before extending the discount.
Yep and corrected.I think you mean pool hopping!

The membership extra document on the website defines the perks and you must be eligible for those,
Pretty much pool hopping and access to TOTWL, when it was open, was available to all.
But, special events and discounts, will always be blue card only…including the membership lounge.
Pretty much, from this point, assume everything will require a qualified membership.
And remember Disney will keep upping the number of points needed to be a Blue Card Member.Yes. Thanks. And I've learned thru many years, there's little "always" in DVC ownership...
But my concern is DVC uses "Member" throughout their info except for that one disclaimer...So if people visit https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/discounts-perks-offers, it is confusing.
I DO have a "valid" Membership Card...This disclaimer clearly says by not buying direct, I don't even really have a DVC Membership Card at all:
"To receive any Membership Extras, purchasers must present a valid digital Disney Vacation Club Membership Card along with a corresponding valid photo ID. Effective June 3, 2021, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 150 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc."
I'm NOT really a full "Member" since I bought resale....I'm an owner in a "Country Club" community; I get my house but the Clubhouse is only available if I pay extra.
I understand the language on the Membership Card clarifies perks, but DVD's own language says I must buy direct to "obtain a DVC Membership Card."
Was their legal team sleeping or duplicitous?
I was FULLY AWARE of this when I purchased resale & I bought exactly what I need & I'm fine with it.
But DVD has established a tiered system & in fairness to those less informed, DVD should revisit how they label owners.
Yes. I'm a dreamer.
