Saw "Shrek" last night and loved it. I thought some of you Universal partisans out there might get a kick out of seeing the way the movie takes on some of Disney's classic characters (but only those Disney plucked from the public domain).
I suppose it's possible to read too much into the fact that Dreamworks co-producer Stephen Spielberg is a special consultant to Universal or that co-producer Jeffrey Eisenberg has had a long running feud with Michael Eisner, and truth to tell the ribbing that Disney gets in this movie is all very good-natured and not likely to offend anyone.
Still, the little jibes and in-jokes make this movie a lot of fun for grownups (kids will love it anyway) and anyone who loves the theme park experience. Highly recommended!
