Seasonal Pass Questions

There were 2 weekends in March last year that had 2 concerts, assume both were blocked out

The funny thing with my family is we have NO interest in a concert while at a theme park. I hope I don't regret getting these seasonal passes

I could not agree more! I am still scouring the website to find out when these concerts actually are! The season passes were not well thought out by Universal :(

OK, so I emailed and called universal about this debacle per @damo recommendation (thank you!).
I just got off the phone with guest services and they worked it all out! It took several days of back and forth, but I finally talked to someone who understood! I highly recommend being a squeaky wheel. PM me if you want more details, i am happy to help!
I am so excited about Universal again!

This thread is over a month old, but hoping someone can answer a question or point me to the thread that covers it.

If I buy a 3 day 2 park ticket and use it to enter on a mardi gras Sat concert day, can I then upgrade to a seasonal pass that day once I'm in the park and still stay for the concert? Or should I use up a full ticket day on day 1, then do the upgrade on the 2nd day (when there is no concert blackout)?

This is a guess....
I think you can use your ticket to enter the park and while there, upgrade to the pass on the concert date

To be on the safe side, send an email to guest services and get the answer in writing

If you can upgrade that concert day, take a copy of UO email that confirms upgrading on day 1, is allowable

Not planning a trip during Mardi Gras time frame, but I find this interesting...this is directly from the 'Details' link about the Seasonal Pass:

Enjoy all the thrills at both Universal Studios Florida™ & Universal’s Islands of Adventure™ (Blockout dates apply.)
  • Free admission to select special events such as Mardi Gras* and Grinchmas™
  • Save up to 30%1 off room rates at each Premier and Preferred on-site hotel or save up to 25%1 off room rates at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort
  • 10% off multi-day theme park admission tickets purchased at the front gate (Up to 6 people per transaction; not valid on 3-Park Unlimited tickets, Universal Express™ passes or tickets with Universal Express™)
  • Special discounts on separately ticketed events such as Halloween Horror Nights™, Rock the Universe™ and CityWalk’s™ New Year’s Eve event

So, is that very first bullet point completely wrong...but, if its, can you use it to argue the point?

As I understand the pass is blocked out for concert nights. This is the first year I can remember that UO is doing Mardi Gras every night. They should change the text to add the block outs to studios on concert nights.

I think they are quite clear. If you look at the blockout dates listed, it clearly states that you cannot enter USF on a concert day. Like pcstang states, just because it is Mardi Gras, doesn't mean there is a concert. So you can still go to the park on Mardi Gras days as long as there isn't a concert that night.

Blockout Dates (apply to both Universal Studios Florida™ and Islands of Adventure™):
  • December 21, 2016 – January 3, 2017
  • April 8, 2017 - April 22, 2017
  • June 10, 2017 - August 13, 2017
  • December 21, 2017 - December 31, 2017
  • Any concert date (If there is a concert during a non-blockout date, Seasonal Passholders will only receive access to Universal’s Islands of Adventure™, but not Universal Studios Florida™)
