Jim Cantore has been spotted 45 minutes from me in Va Beach,one of our locals weather guys is retiring I think end off week and ran into him.
It’s been awhile since we had an actual snow smack down lol.

Man, if Cantore’s in town, you know something’s about to go down. Hopefully, it’s a legit snowstorm and not just a dusting. Been way too long since we had a real one!

We're a few hours south of you (coastal NC)--I think we'll be just warm enough to get rain and a little ice. Two "snowstorms" in the same year would be unthinkable--we just got 2" in January! It would be a sign of the Apocalypse!

If not, they went through a lot of effort and would probably still get in trouble from management.

Yep, you are in trouble now if he's in town. We live in an area in Georgia just north of Atlanta, that doesn't get much extreme weather. We will get the occasional tornado but he wouldn't have time to get here for that. We have bad thunderstorms with rain, hail and wind a lot but again, they come and go fast. We did get two snow events this year, one in Jan. and one this month. For Georgia that can be difficult at best but we didn't even lose power this time.

I’m actually blaming this on the people on the Southside of Hampton Roads (Va Beach Norfolk) because they seem to get left and rained out . Lol

We’re supposed to get the worst of the worst in terms of snowfall. Up to 10 inches! It could shut the airport down…

Weather Channel looks for the worst weather they can find and then broadcasts from there making it seem like the entire state is experiencing that same situation. I can recall watching a previous storm where they seemed to have just dropped off one of their reporters and she had NO idea where the ocean was even though she was about 1/4 mile away......LOL.

Reporting the weather live is fine, but making every storm seem like it's the end of the world gets to be a bit much after awhile.

Last week they were calling for it to hit the DC area, glad it's going more southward this time.

He was in our city for Hurricane Florence. The eye went right over our house. No power for four days, and the Universal Cat Distribution System left us three tiny kittens. Good times! But, it did convince my husband to get us a whole-house generator. Now, every thunderstorm, he wants the power to go out!

Hopefully you experience our Jim Cantore "luck." Whenever he's shown up here, we've gotten some newsworthy weather, but the worst is usually well to our east. Like some other lesser TWC personality gets the brunt while Jim is dealing with more mild conditions.

Jim seems like a really good guy who knows a lot about weather. But everyone knows you do NOT want him showing up in your town!! Wishing all of you in the mid-Atlantic well - hope it moves by with limited impacts.
