Riv and PIT for light sleepers and Convenience

We stayed at VGF in the original DVC building (1BD) in Dec and had no sound issues. Our room was incredibly quiet.

I've noted the tips here about duct tape / painter's tape for the various glowing lights. Wasn't an issue for us in the 1BD at VGF but the brightness bothered me in the BVR studio and BWV studio that we've stayed in. Noting this trick for next time!

Passing along a tip of my own about the curtains. If you don't bring curtain clips with you, you can use hangers from the closet and gently use those, being careful of the fabric, to clip the curtains together. We did that at VGF and wow, the room was dark as could be.
Thank you! Nice to know about the hanger option because i am one to forget. Yes, I never thought to bring tape either but I'm definetely doing that, here I've been suffering through it 🤣🤣

We checked in on the same day as you, but stayed the full week. It did get better as the week went on, we spent a lot of time at the front desk talking to resort management. But we are considering selling our VGF points because of the experience. We have another VGF trip booked and if it's no better we will be selling them.
I was celebrating my 40th birthday there and so excited, even had the GF bakery make me a custom birthday cake to go with the Mary Poppins theme, so imagine my disappointment that that's how it was, especially when people told me it was the best resort. I'd like to hope that it was just an "off weekend" and I would stay again because we didn't have time to try all of the food options, but my wife does not want to at all and I'm definitely in no hurry 😒

We found RR to be fine for sleeping - particularly the one-bedroom. It was a little too dark for me (afraid I would bump into something in an unfamiliar room), so I plugged in the small night-light I always bring along and that worked well.

Such a bummer you had a less than stellar experience at GF, we’ve never stayed there and are in no hurry. In fact I really only want to stay there to cross it off the list. It’s the only one besides BLT we haven’t stayed at for WDW.

At RIV we’ve had nothing but excellent service top to bottom. We were there for marathon weekend and had a lovely note and waters left in our room while at dinner one night. I did the give feedback from the checkin email and received a phone call from the manager not 15 minutes later thanking me and asking if we needed anything. I am excited to hear what you think about RIV, I think you’re going to love it!

I would like to know what you think about GF when you stay there! BLT is fabulous, but I'm biased 🤣🤣 i think I'm going to love Riv too, shoot i already do and I haven't even stayed there! I can't wait to go to the pool and eat at Bar Riva.. and Topolino! When we went there in January , Topolino was closed, but I've heard nothing but great things and I love a good character breakfast with unique outfits! Have you eaten there before? Would love to hear your thoughts about the dining! All those little service touches your talking about is why I choose Disney! I've worked in customer service my whole life and the standards are high because I always try to go above and beyond myself 😀

We are looking forward to trying BLT, especially after the renovation. Maybe this fall if I can grab a room! We love going over to Steakhouse 71 for lunch on our MK days.

I love ALL the food at RIV. We’ve done Topolino’s for breakfast once, loved it but my dinner is my favorite there. We even love going to the bar for cocktails and then sharing an entree if we’re not too hungry. Bar Riva is awesome, it gets a little busy there. Remember they share a kitchen with Primo Piatto so you can order off their menu as well. I love the Arancini and the Grilled Chicken Pasta, great bartenders there. Primo Piatto is one of my favorite QS at Disney! Blueberry Lemon Pancakes are a must and they have the best breakfast platter with polenta. 🤤 Pick up Riviera cookies and try the banana bread,

Also shout out to the cold brew at Le Petit Cafe - I know I’m a broken record but hands down the best on property! 🤩

The Riviera cookie is amazing!
I agree, all of the food is top notch, and the little coffee shop in the lobby is icing on the cake.

I heard that steakhouse 71 has the best burger on wdw property, can't wait to try it, we are definetely foodies! Did not know you were able to order bar riva from primo piatto, thanks for the tip! Blueberry lemon pancakes sounds amazing and I've heard about these famous riv cookies, what flavors do they have? And here I was worried about Riv having "limited food options" 🤣🤣 My wife wasn't too crazy about Riv because she said Itailian isn't her favorite food, but I told her they have burgers and stuff too!

You can order Primo Piatto’s menu at Bar Riva, not sure about the other way around.

This is the cookie! https://disneyparksblog.com/disney-...rry-day-with-riviera-signature-cookie-recipe/

They are literally my profile picture 😂 I’m not saying that cold brew and cookies were all it took to get me to sign on the dotted line, but…
Omg that is hilarious, I am dying for this resale contract to close so I can join the club!
