Rise of the Resitance is most overrated ride in Orlando

I have never been more disapointed in a ride.

There is almost zero thrill factor except that one tiny drop. The ride vehicle is really dull. Remys was even more fun and thats pretty disapointing as well. At times it feels like you are on a slow moving tea cups ride.

The sets are big but mostly static. Very little movement. They arent game changing. Feel like some screens as background could of brought some life to it.

Nothing on old star wars. Kylo ren just isnt interesting. Why oh why is there no original characters.

They dont even do star wars music in the background to get you in the vibe.

Ive done it twice now. Zero interest in ever doing it again. It was just a boring ride.

Why does this get so much praise? I cant be the only one confused by this?

The guardians of the galaxy roller coaster ride should of been the e ticket stars wars ride. How amazing would of that been.
You lost me as soon as you stated you were judging this as if it were designed to be a thrill ride . . . .

I’m too old for every ride to be a thrill ride. That’s why I like Disney so much. I can get on a rollercoastsr then do a cute boat ride and give my body a break.

I was never a roller coaster person even when I was young, lol. I assume Disney did some market research and found that Star Wars nerds are more likely to prefer motion simulators--hence why they are incorporated on all 3 Star Wars rides. 😀

Except i didnt.

Rides shouldnt be seperated into thrill or no thrill. A thrill component is simply one of many aspects of a ride.

Those aspects include theming, thrill, wow moments, length, originality, humour and soundtrack. I comment on many of these aspects in my post.

What’s your favorite non roller coaster based attraction?

What a horrid take even three years old, still a horrible take. First pre-show, that projection on first experience is amazing. The quick run through of the resistance air field is cool, the animatronic Nien Nunb and capture sequence, plus that hanger reveal *chefs kiss*. The "ride" portion as a star wars fan is fun too IF everything is working. And nothing wrong with Kylo, only the last movie. And the ride vehicle has music pumped into it so not sure what they were talking about.

I was thrilled to be able to share it with my wife first time, having it done it on an earlier trip. Then we got to miss the pre-show and got taken thru the CM's alleyway. What an absolute joke. Terrible.

Flight of passage, Haunted mansion, splash mountian
Splash is probably my all time favorite attraction at Disney world. Flight of passage used to be great until the film has become blurry over the years without the proper maintenance of the projectors and/or the 3D glasses.

"Nothing on old star wars". On a ride set during the sequel trilogy why would you expect there to be? lol.

"They don't even do star wars music in the background" They literally do.

To be fair I haven't been on the WDW version but I've been on the identical Disneyland version. I think it's a well designed ride that does a good job immersing the guests in the action and is one of the attractions where the guests feel that they are part of the story. It's also a pretty technologically advanced attraction.

It also has one of the best queues and pre-shows that Disney has ever created. I still contend that Radiator Springs Racers is probably the best Disney attraction (at least domestically) but Rise isn't bad.

If you want an overrated ride, I'd give you Tron.

Avatar Flight of Passage right after it opened, Wow! Avatar Flight of Passage last year, blurry screen and all, riding it for a second time ever, so overrated and needs TLC. ROTR - not overrated to us. However, we're Star Wars fans.

I think Rise is astounding.

What's up with screen care from some of these other rides? I agree that Flight of Passage has become dark and blurry. Half of the rides at Universal parks seem dark and blurry nowadays ( Simpsons, Escape from Gringotts). Is it just age?

I believe it is. Simpsons is a goner so there probably isn't a lot of enthusiasm for a refurb, can't speak to Gringotts but FoP was definitely rough on my last trip.

A little bit off topic, but perhaps somebody can tell me, if Rise of the Resistance has sometimes longer refurbishment periods like now Big thunder mountain? I will be in WDW end of August for 11 days and would not be happy if it would be closed all the time. What are the odds, do you think? Just mentally preparing for more disappointment after closure of Muppets 3D and Buzz Lightyear for that period.
