Reviews on Desert Palms?

I'm thinking of finally making a return to DL in March. Only two days, because it's way too pricey to stay longer anymore. But I've often thought of doing Desert Palms for years. It fits our family of 5, plus there's breakfast.

Anyone stayed there? Reviews?

We've stayed there 3 or 4 times and have always liked it. Not quite as close a walk as the ones straight across Harbor but still not bad at maybe 10 minutes away. Rates are usually a bit better than the closer ones and we find the place to be overall nicer quality than many in the area. Has a good free breakfast, close to CVS and Walgreens and 7-11 for drinks/snacks, etc., and the rooms are very quiet with a few options for larger rooms with bunks or kitchens.

It is one of our go-to places, especially since the prices skyrocketed at Candy Cane. We like it because they have larger room options for our family when we take kids along. There is a parking fee per day so factor that in. We love the breakfast: waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, juice, etc. The walk isn't bad in our book but it's certainly not like across the street. It feels very safe. The 7-11, CVS and Walgreens as mentioned are nice when needed. Blaze Pizza is very close, though the prices have gone up so much there we usually just eat in the parks for about the same price. The pool is nice enough for what it is. Elevators seem quick. Staff has always been very nice. The lobby has a little kids play area. We were just there last month and are planning on being there again in February with our son's family (so got one of the 4 queen rooms). If you have other specific questions fire away. :)

We have stayed twice and enjoyed both stays. We love all the different room configurations they offer. We want to try the 2 bath, 4 queen bed room next. Rooms have been clean both times. We like they offer room service now. We haven’t tried it yet, but like knowing there’s an option if need be. Staff is nice. Breakfast is on the top floor and has a cool view into DCA. I think the only thing negative we have noticed is the hallway noise both trips. And that’s not the hotels fault, we just happen to stay when others were there who were loud. I mean, it’s near Disney, it’s most likely going to be loud in the early morning hours, after fireworks and after closing. We expect that. It just felt louder than usual on our stays here. That being said, we plan to stay here again at some point. Have a great trip!

We used to stay here a lot when my kids were...well, kids! It was always very nice!

And welcome back :) Hope you will have a wonderful trip!

We just stayed there in a 2 room suite last December. We stayed a previous time as well. Both visits have been great and works well for our family. The breakfast has lots of options and is a large room or seating outside where you can see the back of some of the Disney rides. Definitely recommend staying there!

My kids are older teens and adults now. We need breathing room! I feel like the DP deluxe room will do that.

And I feel good coming back. It won't be 5 days like we used to do. Just too expensive, even on the ticket side. Plus the LL+ thing. But I do miss it. And the old HomeSchool days when we had APs and went all the time. Hoping for a great trip. And for Paint the Night to come back!

Are you planning to use LL+? I've never gotten it before, but I bought my sister's ticket for our annual Christmas trip and since I got it on a decent sale, I added the LL+ to her hopper. Since I have a MK, I have to buy it in park day-of so I guess we'll see how that goes. I was afraid that the crowds would make it hard to get onto our favorite rides in Dec so decided to test it out. We'll have to try and figure out the tips and tricks before we go, I guess.

Stayed there once, nice place, but what a long haul at the end of the night.

We have stayed there several times now. We always get the room where the curtain separates the sofa bed from the two queen beds. It’s great there as that part of the room has a small table and chairs and a tv. Also that room gave us a perfect view of fireworks. We think it’s great. Nothing fancy but the free breakfast is a real goldmine! We are heading to Disneyland in three weeks and have three rooms booked there. Can’t wait and highly recommend!
