Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere, I searched and I keep seeing that buses start running an hour before park open. However, is "park open" when the park is open to the public or does it include early hours? So for example, if MK opens at 9am and early entry is at 8:30am, do the buses start running at 8am or at 7:30am?

Also, for rope drop, should we be in line for the bus an hour before we plan to be at the park for early entry? (Ex at 7:30 for 8:30 early entry). We're going late October if that makes a difference.

Yes, resort to park buses start running roughly an hour before ETPE opening, and it’s recommended that you be at the bus stop 90 minutes before ETPE opening if you’d like to catch the first bus and be near the front of the ETPE crowds.

Thank you! What if you don’t care about being near the front of the crowd? We’re rope dropping Winnie the Pooh, Lol

Well then, I guess you could mosey on up to the bus stop a bit later! I’d probably be there 30-45 minutes before ETPE opening, to allow for waiting for the bus, riding to the park and getting through security and the tapstyles early enough to enjoy the extra time in MK.

PS I love Winnie the Pooh and ride it every time I can drag DH on it!

Thank you 🙏 That’s exactly what we needed to know! (And looking forward to Winnie the Pooh 😊)

The early morning bus is scheduled to get you to the theme park one hour before early entry. If early entry at Magic Kingdom is at 8:30, the bus will drop you off at Magic Kingdom at 7:30. So, depending on the distance from your resort to the theme park you wish to travel to will determine when the first bus will be there. For example, the first stop at Saratoga Springs is the Grandstand. It takes at least a half hour to travel through the resort and then to Magic Kingdom so the first bus will be there at approximately 7:00. It takes less time to get to Magic Kingdom from French Quarter so the first bus will be there at approximately 7:15. I hope this helps.

It does! Thank you!

We found this to be very true. When we arrived at Magic Kingdom a few minutes before 7:30 our bus was held at the drive entering the bus stops. Right st 7:30 all the lined up buses moved to the bus stops to drop everyone off.

On Monday, we were at the front of Boardwalk Inn at at around 6:34 AM and a bus for Magic Kingdom, which had a 7:30 AM Early Theme Park Entry, had already left.

** I edited this post to clarify that the park had an 8 AM opening and a 7:30 AM Early Theme Park Entry.

Thank you! Did you get on the next one and if so, what time did you arrive at MK?
We ended up getting a Minnie Van, which the original plan unless the bus happened to be there when we arrived.

(I was determined to get to the parks as early as possible to beat crowds and heat. I wrote a post about that experience in a Minnie Van thread, if you are interested.)
