My daughter has a Radio Flyer family wagon that they use for their 2 kids (1 & 3) at the local amusement park and it's great for them.

Are they allowed at the Universal parks?

check the website to see if they are allowed.
can't remember ever seeing one in the parks but then, i don't see everything.

from the website:

  • Stroll around! We provide single or double strollers for rent upon entering each theme park. You are also permitted to bring your own stroller if you find it more convenient.

We definitely saw one in Universal Studios earlier this month. It was one of those soft-sided ones. I was really surprised it was allowed. The parents were pulling one child and lots of stuff in the wagon and carrying another child.

This is the one they have:

While I'm not sure whether or not they're *allowed* at the parks, I daresay I'd be very hesitant to try to maneuver one of those through the crowds at the parks. It's bad enough to try to pilot a huge stroller that you're pushing... but pulling something behind like that, with all of those people? I wouldn't do it. Nor would I want my kiddos to be relatively unsupervised behind me. But that's just me.

I saw a TM tell someone they couldn't use it when I was there in January. Not sure if it is true .they really aren't safe in large crowds. I have seen people fall on them at Hershey park

It's me, too. I cannot even imagine. And I would be HIGHLY irked at people using them in the parks. People are utterly clueless about what's going on with their littles in strollers (if you have the canopy open you can't see that they are being blinded by the light you have sunglasses on for, that they are slipping down dangerously, they've lost a shoe, etc etc), let alone if they are *behind* you.

It is my understanding that strollers are allowed, but wagons are not.

We always have an adult in front and adult behind.

But I gotta laugh at the notion that having children strapped into a vehicle that is connected to an adult with a 3' handle is considered unsupervised.

I'm just guessing here, but I'm thinking the one we saw in the park may have been used as a 'medical device' for the child in it. It's the only thing I can come up with for why it was allowed in.

UO does not allow wheeled ice chests in the park.
would think the wagon listed above could be larger than the wheeled chest.

something that is not at eye level, such as an ice chest, could be over looked and a person could walk into or trip on it is my guess.

Go ahead and laugh, but if wagons were allowed, the Tips wouldn't specify [just] strollers.

I'm not laughing at not allowing wagons. My daughter loves using it and I was just checking to see if it's allowed - I doubted it would be.

I'm laughing at the suggestion that putting your kids in a wagon qualifies as having children unsupervised.

Have never seen one of those wagons but it does look rather large!!!

I remember seeing some buggies in Disney that were so huge I'm surprised they didn't need ponies to pull them!! A couple of them were so laden with stuff there was no room for the kids........:confused3

Wagons are not allowed at either Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios. They are considered a hazard. Since they are low to the ground, a guest behind you might trip over it if it isn't in their line of vision. Most people are used to strollers being in front and are more apt to notice them. You aren't expecting something to be dragging behind someone.

Would be nice if it was doable. I had a lot of issues with pushing a stroller and teens in particular making a fast turn to go the other direction running into the strollers, I can only imagine them dumping a wagon. As far as three feet handle your back is to that handle and lot of people can get between you and the three feet to the wagon in the masses of humanity. Local Parks are much different than Orlando Parks.
