Questions on Transferring within own Memberships

Be aware of the major change just made, apparently last week, relating to transfers, that I was informed of today when doing a transfer between my two memberships. The exception for such transfers is gone. A member is now limited to only one transfer per use year, in or out, even when transferring between the member's own memberships.

Interesting. I wonder if this is a formal change or whether it depends on which CM you speak to. Thanks for letting us know.

Just called MS to get more info. The CM I talked to really seemed to know his stuff. He said the change came out Jan. 1st as part of the added transfer rule, where you can transfer banked, borrowed, Reservation, and Holding pts. I double checked some popular DVC news like DVC Fan and they reported that you could still have unlimited transfers within your own membership, so the rule must have been well hidden. So well, the CM I talked to a few weeks ago. didn't even know.

I ask myself the same thing but the person I talked to also mentioned that the computer system itself was changed to no longer allow more than one transfer per use year even when a member wants to transfer between memberships.

Does anyone know if you transfer banked points, do they count for the year they are banked into or their original use year? For example, if I banked 2024 points into 2025, could I transfer all those points as my 2025 transfer? I know the ability to transfer banked points is newer, so I’m not sure if anyone here knows the answer yet.

My understanding is they count as a 2025 transfer since that is now when they can be used.

I asked this yesterday via chat and she was very adamant that it was only one transfer in or out between your own memberships.

Ofc this my least favorite chat agent "Lavendar" who every time I get her she tells me she can't make any changes on my account because of a "note" on my account saying i have to call MS for any changes.

No other agent sees this apparent note
