has anyone stayed at HHI during the RBC Heritage Tournament?

Has anyone stayed at HHI specifically for the RBC Heritage golf tournament? Assume 7 month availability would be near impossible but I'm local-ish and would prob only be looking for a 1 or 2 night stay so may be able to get lucky with a waitlist. Not having attended the tournament before, I don't know much about the logistics of it all but wondered if staying at HHI is convenient. Anyone have any tips/advice?

There are a few hhi locals on the disboard that may chime in.

We have visited dhhir multiple times during the heritage and enjoy it.

We were able to eat our favorite places if you timed it right.

I would also check the cash side within 7 months. That is how we got a 2 bedroom at dhhir during this time.

Thank you!! I guess calling myself local was generous lol, as I live on the SC coast but not in Hilton Head specifically. I'll do some reading up on the parking/shuttle logistics for the Heritage. I'd love to spend a night or two there and do the tournament for a day or two. Honestly, this now has me considering a small contract at HHI to do this once a year for the tournament ...we shall see!

We stayed at HHI specifically for the RBC Heritage golf tournament, and like this year, it was the week before Easter. DH had a ticket to go on Easter Sunday, the final day, and that year (2011) there was an Easter Sunrise service with one of the golfers (I forget who, but DH remembers) giving the sermon. I don't remember having difficulty getting reservations, but we own there, so have the 11 month window. I do remember that on Good Friday, every good seafood restaurant was PACKED, and by the time DH got back after the tournament ended on Sunday, we had dinner at the only place open for dinner-Panera Bread! Quite an experience!
