Question on Keen & Teva Sandals

I normally wear a wide-width shoe and I noticed that both the Keen and Teva sandals are available only in a medium width. Anyone else with wide feet wear this shoes? Unfortunately I don't have any stores in my area that carry these shoes so I'd be ordering them online.

I just bought my first pair of Tevas (Hurricane 3)when we were away this past weekend and have them on my feet for the first time today. They are extremely comfortable but I would have to say that mine are not exceptionally wide. I have a normal width foot and they don't seem to have any extra width space. Some styles may differ from these. Hope this is some help to you.

I have a very wide foot and live in Tevas. They have velcro so you can adjust them if your feet swell with all the walking. They have several styles that velcro across the top of your foot and also at your heel. I don't know about Keen, I've never tried them

Just a correction-my sandals are Terra-FI2 not hurricane 3 and they do have velcro which does make them adjustable. You can see all their styles on the Teva website under sport sandals. Good Luck!

This is an extreme example, but DH wears a 13EEE - super-big, super-wide foot. I bought him a pair of Tevas from Sierra Trading Post and he lives in those things once the temp here gets above 60. I have a wider than average foot and wear a 7 1/2W in sneakers - any of the Tevas fit me just fine.

I ordered Keens from Zappos a year ago. I have a narrow foot and usually take 7 1/2 or 8. I ordered 8's. They are pretty snug. So you might order big.

They felt really comfortable for walking around here and there so I took them to WDW last Sept. For me, my feet couldn't last in the parks all day with them. I had to put my Nike's back on.

Maybe by the time we return to WDW in 2009, I'll have the Keens good and broken in.

My DH has a super wide foot (10.5 EEEE) and I would not buy him Keens or Tevas. Go to Zappos or Shoebuy and look by your size. I got him some great sandals on Zappos (I think Dunhams0 that he loves!

I, too, have wide feet. I own two pair of Tevas and a pair of Crocs. I've never had any trouble with any of them.

Do tevas have arch support like birkenstock. It looks like some have a cork base like birks. I have never tried these but they look nice.:confused3

I have a wider foot and I just went up a size. The sandals that I wanted didn't come in half sizes. I bought sevens last January b/c there were no stores selling sandals here they were to short front to back bought eights this spring and LOVE THEM! I will buy at least 2 more pairs this summer before our trip in September.

you can't go wrong with Birks. They are pricey, but they are extremely supportive and the only sandal I've ever known that allow me to go back pain free from dawn to dusk! They're a great investment! :thumbsup2

Birks kill my feet and I really wanted them to work for me. Got a par of Teva Pretty Ruggeds that I'm very happy with. I'd try to find someplace to try some of these brands on. Good luck!

I'm sorry Birks didn't work for you. My mom can't wear them either. I bought her two pair for Christmas one year CONVINCED she'd have the magic cure to her back pain as I had...nope...all she got was blisters!:sad2: :lmao: Oddly enough, she was thrilled with the crocs I gave her this year for her birthday. She was able to walk all over her quilting convention all day without a complaint...which is a miracle as she'd had a knee replacement and a bone in her foot removed in the past two years.

I guess price does not mean they will be "better"...I'm glad the Tevas work for you!

I'm obsessed with Teva Mush this summer!!!:thumbsup2

I've owned 2 pairs of Tevas in my life and I will never buy another pair of sandals! (Well, I may buy some Croc thong sandals..but only as a backup) My foot is extremely wide for a woman, and I've never had an issue with width. I am buying my 3rd pair of Tevas (Terra-Fi 2s) in the next week so I can break them in for our trip to Disney in September.

I broke down and bought a pair of Crocs and I love them - I wear them instead of slippers. (Haven't worn them "out" yet. They get squeeky on me.) I had a pair of Teva Mush last summer and lived in them. Tried to get another pair for this summer and found that they've made them narrower. Major disappointment.
