Thank you dear Snowysmom and good evening to you and all of my Quacker family.

Dad and I had such a nice lunch and visit earlier. Thank God he's safely home now. While he was here I was able to get some exercise and therapy in by pushing tbe wheelchair in the halls with my feet. Doing this has really helped strengthen my feet and legs. It also gets me practicing a normal walking pattern of alternating my feet. I look forward to pt tomorrow.

Dad and I rushed to write out A and L's cards and wrap their gifts. The two packages are safely resting inside a Ralph's bag on my chair. Dad found A very near the end of her and her mom's shift at 3. Next time I see them, possibly even tomorrow or for sure later this week, everything will be ready.

Summer was here today at 80. Midweek it may reach 85. What a blessing (in any weather) it will be for me when I run out the door of this horrible place! As an fyi I absolutely do not want to go outside until I know I am heading home! It would hurt my heart to have to come back into this building. I prefer to wait. God willing I will be walking out of here by the end of this month. I sure pray so.

Sunday evening hugs to all. I will check in one more time tonight later.

Good morning. It is a cold dreary rainy morning. Temp is 39 and not getting any higher today. I really want to see the sun! Another quiet day yesterday. I made the chicken chili and will try it tonight. Not sure how it will be. Back to work for the week. I did take off Friday to use up more PTO and will again have lunch with my MA friend.

Have a good day.

Dear Snowysmom, hugs and please stay warm and take care. I'm so glad that you have Friday off to spend time with your friend.

Warm hug to you, too, dear Lynn. You please stay well also.

Happy Monday everyone. I did get some sleep for which I am most grateful. I was also assigned at last one of my regular overnight CNA's. She was glad I moved to a little quieter area. I also saw my favorite 11pm to 7am nurse when she came to borrow water. Yes, you read that right

This old building (no surprise) still (almost my entire time here) has hot water trouble. A lot of rooms have no hot (or even warm) warm water in the bathroom sink. My old room 137 was one of the only rooms that most always did have hot water. Room 218 often had cold water only. In 137 nurses would come "borrow" water in general and/or because they didn't want to wait for the water in the patient's room they were assisting in to maybe, slowly get warmish.

That the Board of Health didn't condemn this place a couple of weeks ago during an inspection (especially because at that time residents couldn't shower because of the cold water) is beyond me. I would think this facility must have been fined. I don't know. I would prefer water not being "borrowed" at 5am in the morning. Thank goodness that had never happened before. One more thing for me to possibly tell either the nursing or facility director later.

A my roommate turned on the call light again. About ten minutes ago, in response to the light, a nurse firmly told A that her, "CNA went home already. You have to wait until the next shift (that starts at 7am) to start." I am so tired of A being dismissed. My regular nurse is kindly changing her even though she's not assigned to her. Here, that rarely happens! God Bless, R indeed.

Enjoy some warm cocoa and for me dear friends. Monday hugs to all. I will come back later.

So many prayers there haven't been any posts since mine this morning because all of dear you have been happily busy!

I am so blessed. God enabled me to walk further today (with the walker and sitting down breaks) than ever! I had two fantastic pt sessions. On my first hallway walking morning at least two weeks ago maybe three, I needed Susan and a second therapist, a nice lady named Veronica to support me on either side as I shuffled along. Veronica had not seen me walk since then.

This morning Veronica took the time to accompany Susan and I. Susan had been updating her and she wanted to see my progress for herself. She was so happy for me. It was sweet. Susan always is so encouraging. She truly has been a blessing to me.

Dad and I enjoyed our daily lunch and visit. Truly those 3 hours or so mean everything to us both. He got to see me walk again because I had my second therapy session in the afternoon. I prefer having both in the morning but it worked out fine this way today.

I even got to see my friend A while out in the hallways and give her a surprise pudding I had brought with me in case I ran into her. A will be working tomorrow morning. She promised if she was assigned on my side of the building that she would switch to have me unless I am assigned her lovely mother L :) I would love to be assigned L tomorrow so I could tell her about A's gift. It would be great to give them both their gifts together. A has no clue about any gifts and L only knows about A's.

Have a good night dear friends with sweet dreams. Love to all.

Mona So glad you are making so much progress each day.

Good morning. It is yet another dreary rainy cold day. I look ahead a bit on my weather app and only see the sun on Wed through the weekend. Yikes! I told my NH friend that I am going to build an Ark! I hope Kenny hears today or tomorrow about his divorce. This has just gone on a ridiculous amount of time. I had my weekly meeting with my boss and it looks like she will be hiring the person who already works in the company who will be the best fit for our team. That will make everyone's life easier at work.

Have a good day.

Good morning. It’s chilly here in Cape May, but the sun is out. That’s a great since yesterday was dark, gloomy and rainy. I did go for bloodwork yesterday. Bowels are bothersome again, thankfully they were OK for my trip to the lab.

I enjoy reading about your progress, @flyingdumbo127, and I’m so glad your dad got to see the great session!

Thank you dear Snowysmom. I am tremendously blessed by God indeed. I look forward to pt later this morning. Hooray for work being made easier for you and your colleagues, too. Prayers for Kenny and your precious grandchildren. Courts horribly do have a way of sometimes forgetting that very children are being impacted by proceedings :/

Good morning dear friends,

For the second time in fifteen or so minutes the same nurse came in to borrow hot water. This, of course, is ridiculous at any hour but especially at this hour! I feel badly for the nurses too as their job is once again made harder by ownership that seemingly doesn't care not even about patient sleep. And neither does the medication nurse who just burst in with A's first daily medication. She also left our door open which makes the tv across from me even louder.I will be looking into reporting some of this anonymously.

I am also extra blessed to have gotten the sleep I did. Taz, thinking of you. Sending extra love and prayer your way and to both of you, too, dear Bobbi and Pea.

Thinking extra of our family members AuntieMe3 and Frog. Have any of you heard from them? Dazed, Easyas, Footballmouse, and Kirby, (I apologize if I left anyone off) prayers each of you are doing well. A hug to Tina, too.

I will check back in later. Have a great day everyone! :)

Good morning. It's cold, windy, sunny, and there are snow flurries flying around. Temp is 32 and only going to 43 today. I can't stand these constant temperature fluctuations. One day I'm in shorts and a t shirt with windows open, the next I'm in leggings with a sweater and the heat on.

Mona- there are a lot of Quackers I haven't seen or heard from in a long time. I guess they're busy with life. Frog isn't one of them though. We private message each other usually a couple of times a week. She's doing good.

Have a good day everyone.

Thank you dear Lynn for the update on Frog. Please stay warm, my friend, and well!

Editing to add that my first pt session went very well. My nurse this morning , B, is a sweet lady who is a friend of A's. She and A probably are the youngest CNA's here. I'm going to try and rest a little now before my second pt session. I shall come back later.

Good morning. It is again chilly at 25 with temps heading into the 40s. The sun did come out yesterday after we had rain and some snow flakes. The wind made it so much colder. Today the sun is supposed to be out. Yesterday I went to the gym and Market Basket for a few items. I have to go into the office tomorrow but then have 4 weeks before having to go in again unless my boss isn't able to go in sometime. That makes me feel so much better. Glad to hear that Frog is doing well. I think of some of the quackers who haven't posted in a while.

Have a good day.

Warm Wednesday hugs to all. Please bundle up dear friends and take care of yourself. I feel extra blessed by God to have gotten some good sleep. A, my roommate was loudly calling for help while banging something for a half hour+ starting at 6:25am. The front desk did page a CNA to our room when I called. No one (no surprise) came until after this current 7am to 3pm shift began.

At 7:05am, two male nurses (one right after another) walked in. The first had a towel. I hoped he at last came to help A especially when he got water from our sink. I thanked him. He asked me why! I replied for coming to help A. He quickly said he isn't her CNA. Of course he isn't. The second man commented that I wasn't the last person in here. I told him she was probably in my old room 218. We were probably switched on Friday. He kept asking where she was. I reminded him that I don't work here!

About ten minutes after that, a third man brought our breakfast trays. He told me when I asked who my nurse this morning that he was. He went onto say that he switched with someone named Katrina because I "don't like men." I like men, well NOT possibly fake male doctors but all of you know what I mean, very much. I don't want a male nurse. At least this man knew name even if he didn't supply his. Later today I will once again be talking with the scheduling person along with a head nurse about A and how her unkind care impacts us both. I pray to do my best to stand up for A. I won't stand by while someone is dismissed. I am often cast aside by default as A's roommate (nurses don't want to come in here it seems). What a horrible place this is.

I am looking forward to my first pt session in about an hour. I will be extra glad to see Susan, a very kind person who not only knows who I am (and who A is) but who has been used by God bigtime to help me recover.

Have a great day everyone. I will update later.

This place gets sadder and crazier! Dad, thank God, was still here when an elderly male resident, a stranger to me, wheeled himself into my room! At first it looked like he was going to go into the bathroom. He changed his mind and began heading to A's curtain in front of her bed. He said nothing this entire time. Dad told him that he was in the wrong room (for a second time) and wheeled him out to a nurse. Dad was told this man does this all the time. During the night, I almost always hear a nurse tell someone (now I know who) that he needs to go back to his room. This morning he was told until 7am to stay in his room. So apparently after 7am he's welcome to go anywhere? He needs a sitter! An extra reason to make sure my door is always closed. Yikes.

On a completely different note, a male nurse kept coming into my room this morning to, "borrow (hot) water," from my bathroom sink. There is an employee and visitor bathroom across the way from me. Dad uses it daily. When I told the nurse there was hot water in the bathroom, his reply was something outrageous like he, "couldn't go in there. Only in rooms because of infection." So does that mean he never uses the restroom on his shift? Or is dad at risk going in there? Only here, right? :P

I had two more great pt sessions. I amazingly have a nice (new to me) female nurse right now until 11pm. Dad found today's posted in the hallway CNA schedule. It shows a man and a favorite female overnight of mine in this section. I will request either of a charge nurse or my CNA right now that I am assigned R tonight. What a welcome change that would be.

Be safe and have a great evening dear friends.

Good morning. Going to be 48 with rain.

I was going to start my day early yesterday and do errands. I went down to put a load of wash in before I left and the washer was making weird noises. I went back down and looked and it was stuck on the sensing cycle. I switched it to drain and spin, and it finished the cycle. I thought maybe it had gotten stuck or something, so I tried running the wash cycle again. It added the water, and then started making the same sounds.

I called a couple of local repairmen. I was told a minimum of $185 plus parts. He said it might come to around $300 depending on what it needed and if he had the parts or had to order them. The darn washer is only 7 years old, the last one we had lasted 18! Neither of them could get here until next week sometime

I figured if I was going to pay that much, I may as well just get a new washer. Looked on Lowes (we have no Home Depot close by), and found 2 I liked. Checked prices, took screenshots, etc. Went to Lowes and there were more salesmen then customers. I looked at the 2 I liked, both on sale. I decided to go back to Whirlpool (have had Maytag for years, but they're both made by Whirlpool anyhow). There was one almost identical to what I have now, but the reviews aren't good. Good thing I had the screen shots, because the one I had said free delivery. They'll also install it as long as you buy new hoses, which I did.

The new one will be here between 11:30 and 3:30.

I came home and had to figure out how to get the rest of the water out of the washer. Summer came over with her pump and we got out as much as we could. We unhooked the hoses, and the drain hose, so all they have to do is move it out and put the new one in. She stayed for about an hour and a half. We went through some yard sale stuff, and she took a couple of things for the boys.

She's going to have an emptier house soon. Lily and her boyfriend are getting an apartment. Also the younger of the 2 boys is looking for one too. The oldest is only home a few times a week, because he travels for his job, but he's looking for a house. That's only going to leave Gracie at home, going to be a big change for all of them, but it's time.

When she was here, I found out a couple of things about Luke that both hurt and made me upset. I'm trying not to let it get to me, but it does. It is what it is as they say.

I'm tired and sore from moving things out of the way so they have a clear path to the laundry room and cleaning up in there, so not doing much of anything until they come with the washer.

Have a good day

Big hug dear Lynn with extra love. Please never forget you are an incredible lady. We are all sure blessed to call you our friend. Be kind to yourself and you know how sorry I am to hear that anyone treated you with anything other than care and respect. Thinking extra of you. Smart move on a new washer. May it last many years.

Good morning dear friends. I'm extra looking forward to Susan coming in about an hour and a half for my first pt session because God sure graced me bigtime with a great night sleep. The same male nurse (he never did reveal his name I think it's Ian but that could also be someone else) as yesterday brought our breakfast trays. He told me my nurse once again is Katrina who I never saw once yesterday. I didn't need her but she could have come and introduced herself. I'm going to try and find out if my mom friend L is here. If so, I sure hope to talk with her. I am hoping (perhaps over the weekend like last weekend) I will be assigned her but A, her daughter, will be here, too so I can give them their surprises together :) I will update later.

Bright Thursday hugs to all. I will come back later.

Mona-believe it or not, 2 different salesmen told me that appliances aren't made to last more than 5 years, that I was 'lucky' that it lasted 7. So I suppose that means that the dryer will be the next to go, since it was bought at the same exact time. When you have to spend hundreds of dollars on an appliance, you expect it to last longer than that!
