Lynn Glad Summer could get into the dentist.

Bobbiwoz What a beautiful decoration.

Good morning. It is 37 here now with temps heading to 42. There is snow in the forecast for tomorrow. I am going to try to get my errands done today so I don't have to go out in any bad weather. Work has been a real challenge since I got back from vacation. It is enough to have to play catch up but IT in our other division made some changes that messed up alot of processes and things. I do reconciliations of credit card payments for them as well as our division. They messed up that and the reporting. Monday they asked (really demanded) alot of info from me so I had to spend 2 hours getting a spreadsheet together. Tuesday morning there was an email first thing demanding more info as soon as possible. Yesterday the same thing. They sent me reports that just do not tie out. I don't want to look at my email this morning as when I left yesterday they were still trying to figure things out. I am trying to just let it be and do my work. I did let my boss know. I feel like running away back to Disney! Makes retirement look like a good plan for next year. Thanks for letting me vent!

Have a good day.

Big hug dear Snowysmom. I would love to visit ::MickeyMowith you especially if the weather here was as cold as it is out there, yikes! Please stay well and warm. Yesterday it was 81. Over the weekend low 60's. Big drop but again not like out where you are. Please take care. I am glad you do have retiring as an option for next year.

Good early morning everyone. Dad's Christmas surprises have now all come. I just need to wrap them and make his card. I hope most all if not all of each of your shopping is done. Dad said Target was busier when he went there yesterday. God willing, I'll be able to go to Target next year. Dad gave me a Target gift card for my birthday back in May. I've been saving it until we are able to go to the store in person together. What a blessing that will be!

Have a lovely Thursday dear Quacker family.

Our tree in our window!

I’m waiting to hear what time I need to be at the hospital tomorrow. If it’s something like 9, we’ll stay home, if it’s earlier, we’ll go to a motel tonight. We are at least two hours from Camden, and we would be in Philadelphia AM traffic.

My Sister came today, took us out to Lobster House for lunch. We all enjoy seafood, and we have leftovers for later today. She gave Gus a good walk. He’s going to go to the kennel for tonight at least.

We did decorate an area with Christmas cards. Next, I’ll be putting them up the stairs.

I guess I never hit send this morning, though I swore that I did. Better late than never.

Good morning. Cloudy and low 40's today. We had a lot of rain yesterday. But on the plus side, when I got back from grocery shopping, I was going outside to get more stuff out of the car when I saw something moving inside the cat house. I peeked in and there was Tiger, all curled up warm and dry. Apparently it's now her private abode. She came out to eat supper and went right back in. I think she slept in it all night because the other 3 were outside the back door waiting for me, and when I opened the door, she stretched and came out one of the doors, lol. At least one of them figured out it's there!

The stores were all madhouses yesterday. Martins (Giant) was worse than Walmart was. There wasn't a parking spot in the huge lot. I had to park way down by Kohls and walk over. I got everything I need, so maybe I won't need to go to the store again until at least a few days after Christmas.

@Snowysmom :grouphug: I hope things ease up for you at work

Off to get dressed. Have a good day everyone

Bobbiwoz Prayers and good thoughts for you.

Lynn Funny how Tiger figured out how to sleep warm and comfortably. So smart! The stores are getting crazy.

Good morning. It is 26 here now with temps only going to the mid 30s. We are expecting a bit of snow today, not too much. IT called a meeting for us yesterday to discuss the issues they caused. They don't look at it that way. They say it is all fixed and told us what was affected etc. After that meeting my boss' boss, the accounting guy in the office where IT is, and I had a meeting. The big boss said he was not happy that IT did not let us know about the changes and just did it. He also thanked me for all my work is reconciling and helping out which I appreciated. We have our own plan of action to monitor things every day. Now to play catch up. I went to Market Basket yesterday for a few things and it was not too bad. But I can imagine it will be over the weekend. Traffic has been so busy lately. Sunday morning I need to go to Hannafords for fruit and a few other things for the family brunch but I am going at 7 so I am hoping it will be too early to be crazy. After that I am not going near a store until after Christmas.

Have a good day.

💕dear Bobbi and prayers. May your doctors know their hands are being guided by God.

:grouphug:dear Snowysmom. I'm very grateful you are appreciated at work as well you should be! You do so much. Pre pandemic I worked at a church during summer camps. Part of what I did was budget, purchase, and account for food and other supplies. Not always easy for sure but satisfying. Best part was being with God's precious kids. Your own kids and grandkids are certainly blessed to have you.

Good morning everyone with love. My Christmas mail will be sent today. My apology for it being late and podsibly scrawly writing. I did most of the cards here in my chair. Important to me to share extra thanks this holy season with you.

Thinking extra with prayer right now of our Quacker family members AuntieMe3, Dazed, Frog, Kirby and, of course, Tina.

Happy Friday to all with love.

Happy Friday!

Starting to get cold again.

Meeting up with some friends/co-workers tonight at a Mexican restaurant. I'm sure we'll have fun.

My interview from Wednesday went well. They want me to come back next week to shadow for the morning to see how the periop and pacu work. The other day I just got a tour of the building. It's going to be a hard choice for me. I keep waiting for a sign but I don't know what to look for. On one hand, I like the 3, 12 hour days that the new job at my current hospital offers. I just can't get past losing 4 hours a week, it adds up at the end of the month. Plus by only working 3 days, I might have a better opportunity to find a good part time job a couple of days each week. But then on the other hand, I think the pay will be better at the other place, and I feel there is more opportunity for me to advance in other areas. But the drive, omg the drive!!! It took me an hour to get there because of the rain and rush hour traffic, it should take me 45 minutes though. Right now I have a 20 minute drive to work. This new job offers 4, 10 hour days which is fine but I'm worried it limits me being able to find a part time job. I don't know what to do. I've never had to make a decision like this before.

Heading to the grocery store tonight after dinner (actually it depends on how I feel, this restaurant makes some strong margaritas!).

Have a great day!

Good morning. Its 33 and snowing very lightly, but it's not going to amount to anything. High temp today will be 38.

I have to get hold of the guy about the wood stove this morning. If it's not out of here by this weekend, it's staying right where it is. I'm not wasting anymore time worrying about it.

@bobbiwoz Prayers said for today

@footballmouse You'll get a sign telling you which job to go with, just not tonight while drinking Margarita's, lol

Today I'm making Christmas Crack and fudge, and bagging it up with some of the toffee I made yesterday and bringing it to my one good neighbor. They don't celebrate Christmas, but it's still my way of thanking them for being so helpful throughout the year.
Dave called me yesterday and thanked me over and over for the Sheetz gift card. He said I didn't need to do that. He doesn't need to do all he does to help me and not charge me what he should either.

The new season of Virgin River started on Netflix and I binged 5 episodes last night. Going to finish it up tonight.

Have a good day

@footballmouse , I loved when @lynxstch says You'll get a sign telling you which job to go with, just not tonight while drinking Margarita's, lol!!

I am glad you do have choices.

I am pleased that my Dr spoke so positively to us today. For the type of cancer it it, he says he saw very little, maybe the less he’s seen in this type before.

Our follow up is January 2.

Thank you again, all of you, for all your kind words and prayers.

Praise extra so much to God indeed dear Bobbi. I'm so thankful to read your update🙏💕

Dear Footballmouse, I'm also grateful extra to God that you already have new job options. Keep them in prayer, learn more if you can about them, and I believe you will know. Years ago, when I was much younger and living in a small town, I had a job an hour away. The drive often in rain was not fun. Dad at one time also (again years ago) had a very long work commute. It takes a toll for sure. Thinking extra of you.

Dear Lynn, so sweet of you to make the treats🍬and get Dave the gift card. Enjoy your TV series! :)

Bobbi… glad to hear
Yesterday we got about 9 inches of snow. It was truly beautiful, but I’m still not thrilled. Today I baked 5 batches of cookies along with 2 batches on Wed. That’s it, I’m done. I have to start wrapping gifts.

It has been a rough month, Our anniversary was the 15th ( It would have been our 40th. DD’s baby would have been due on the 18th.🙁 And today is the anniversary of Kris’s passing. A lot on my mind and heart.

How is everyone doing with Christmas preparations? I'm the type who is never done, I just keep doing more and more until the day is here. 🙄 Our immediate family Christmas is not until the next weekend, so guess what? I’ll have to do even more.🤣. This year we are just doing stockings, I think I have spent more on all the small stuff than I would have buying one big gift.

Dazed  It is a difficult time of year. It sounds like you have been keeping busy which is a good thing. Like you I never seem to stop buying stuff. I hope you have nice holiday celebration with your family.

Bobbiwoz Good news! I hope you recover quickly and have a nice Christmas with family.

Footballmouse I agree with Lynn about getting a sign about which job to take. Maybe writing a list of pros and cons for each and the thinking about it. That way you have your thoughts on paper and can have something to look at. Sometimes I find when making a big decision my mind becomes muddled so writing it down lets me see it instead of just swirling around in my brain. Best of luck whichever one you choose.

Good morning. It 22 here now with light snow. We just got a coating yesterday. I did more Christmas prep yesterday. I stuffed the stockings and of course thought, I need to buy more stuff. But really I don't as the kids have enough candy and toys and socks and gloves in their stockings. I may go to CVS and look around. :) I have a few errands to do but am staying away from any shopping areas. I will go to the stand alone places. Tomorrow I will hit Hannafords at 7 am to get fruit and then that is it. I am making cookie dough today and the cookies tomorrow. I am trying a new recipe for yogurt bark. It is greek yogurt, strawberries, mini chocolate chips, vanilla, and goes into the freezer. If it works out I will bring it for brunch on Tuesday. It occurred to me yesterday that this will be first Christmas Day I will wake up alone in my condo. The other years since Chris passed I have been at Kenny's house. He works Christmas day and the kids are with their mom. I am going to Jeff's Christmas morning so I need to keep that in mind.

Have a good Saturday.

Dad would enjoy your yogurt bark, dear Snowysmom. It is fun to fill stockings with surprises. Speaking of stockings, this coild be a QOTD. Do each of you have a special Christmas stocking? Dad has one I got him several years ago in a jiffy. It is personalized a bit with "DAD," and another decorative patch on it. I have been using a stocking that an elderly church friend gifted me but I basically picked out. I showed her some choices from Hobby Lobby and we agreed on mine. Same kind friend who personalized dad's did mine too. God willing next year when I am recovered it would mean a lot to me for dad to actually choose a stocking for me and me a little more personal one for him. How about each of you?:santa:

Good morning, all! Holiday hugs all around! 🐥

Bobbi, sounds like you got good news! That’s wonderful.

Lynn, I’m blown away with your WM stories! And all the credits you got! Lol. I had a Kitchen Aid mixer ordered as a housewarming gift for DD for her apt. I kept getting the emails saying delayed, then finally one saying cancelled. Yet it showed as available on the website (@ $100 off.) So I called WM.com. The guy on the phone said I could go ahead and order it again, that it’s available. And he gave me - ready for this? - a $5 credit for my trouble! :lmao: I still haven’t reordered it yet. Deciding what’s best for color, so going to wait until place is finished to see.

Footballmouse, just two thoughts. For the 36 hr position, are extra hours or OT available? Because, where I am, it’s easy to pick up an additional 4 hrs to make that up, even if people go to a different area to do it. The other thing is the commute issue. What I wouldn’t give for a 20 minute commute! Mine is minimum 1hr and often closer to 1.5 (and sometimes 2 hrs!) with weather and/or traffic. I’ve been doing it for 40 yrs this year and am so tired of it! It’s the thing I am looking most forward to not having to do in retirement (though I can think of a few others, too, lol). That’s something I’d think long and hard about! But wishing you luck on whatever you decide! 🤞I can imagine how tough it was so say farewell (not goodbye, as we say) to all of your friends and coworkers. 😢

Taz, I also think your trash neighbors are jealous of your new deck! How to make it obvious! Deck and yard look great!

Dazed, extra hugs. That’s a lot of tough anniversaries right now.

Snowysmom, glad you had a nice trip. We love club level, it’s like home away from home. Sounds like you did great. :flower3:

I’ve still been nursing the remnants of a covid-like illness. Saying -like because I never tested positive, but it sure felt like it. Still coughing. Hoping it doesn’t turn into anything worse. DD originally picked it up during a 2 hr wait at Urgent Care for something else, and I apparently picked it up from her. 😬 I have to work all of XMas. Got cards sent out this week and finished my shopping (mostly online), just have to wrap today. I have everything laid out and just have to find the motivation to do it haha.

On the home stretch of apt reno. Cabinets are all up and look beautiful. Have to add the handles, and Monday they’re measuring for the countertops. Pendant and ceiling lights purchased, DH just has to install them. The past few days, floor has been going in. Looks great. Hopefully the guy finishes that today. Found out he does tile work too so he’ll do the backsplash after the counters go in. (DS knew his cousin through work.) DD found a sofa she loves, it’s coming today too. It’s a LazyBoy sleeper sofa, and has a lounger on one end, but the lounger is versatile and it and the cushions can be moved around and the piece under it can be an ottoman. It was pricey but she got over $1000 off with discounts, and she’ll have it a long time. So hopefully if floors get finished today she can set up her living room and then start to look for a bedroom set, and move in once she gets that (or sleeps on the sofa!). Phew! That was a long time coming.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. 🎄 And holiday if I don’t talk to you before then! I hope 🎅 is good to you!

It's sunny outside, but our high temp will only be 29 today. I'm jealous of my friend in CO. She's having the warmest Dec on record. They got to 68 yesterday and are supposed to be 65 today. I told her she's in the mountains and it's supposed to be cold and snowy, lol

I texted the guy about the wood stove yesterday morning. He said he was trying to get all the guys together at one time to help, that he would let me know by afternoon. Of course afternoon came and went and he never got back to me. So I'll get hold of the third and last guy who was interested and then just let it stay there. I'm tired of all the excuses people keep giving me.

Not planning on doing much of anything today. The holiday blues have set in and I just can't wait for them to be over.
Have a good day everyone

I’ve still been nursing the remnants of a covid-like illness. Saying -like because I never tested positive,

I've never had Covid that I know of. Only the vaccines.

But, I've lost my sense of smell.

This is a problem for someone with cats. The friends that visit get grilled about whether they can smell cat!

Fortunately DD will come home and immediately tell me if she smells anything. No rugs in my house other than bath mats which I put up after my shower over the top of the shower curtain. Cats like to hide things! Years ago when I first got my youngest old cat he ruined a living room rug on me plus a bit of the floor under it had a light/dark stain. Had the boards replaced.

Grands come and drop their stuff everywhere. I'm on it because I know what can happen.
