Oh no. Hug dear Bobbi. I pray your humidifier helps. I've only had a few slight nosebleeds since we got our humidifiers. Both were on days I had thoroughly brushed my hair following a dry shampoo. I need to be gentler. Reminder to myself to take care to not practice getting up and down too many times as all that jostling is an instigator.

Happy Monday friends. My deepest thank you to all Veterans and their families along with active military. God Bless you all.

I've been enjoying a free trial of FRNDLY TV that includes both Hallmark and Hallmark Movies and Mystery which I like for extra Christmas movies. Being able to record a movie and then somewhat fast forward commercials is awesome.

Snowysmom, prayers you are enjoying your trip.

Monday joy with love to all.

Good Monday Morning.

Been absent for a little while. It was kind of chilly this morning. I wore a cardigan this morning for work and I decided to wait outside for the shuttle to the office. I was regretting my decision as soon as I got to the shuttle stop.

My birthday was fun on Saturday. Mia had her birthday party and then the outdoor venue in my neighborhood had their last outdoor "drinks on the lawn" event. The boys all met me up there for a drink before I went to work for the night. We had fun. We all said that we would do it again when it starts back up in the summer. Work ended up being uneventful.

Sunday I just ran some errands and was a little disappointed that I didn't find much Xmas stuff at Target and TJMaxx. Left the stores with no purchase. Went home and watched the football games.

Dumbo - enjoy the free trial. Hopefully it's long enough to get through the rest of this year.

That's about it, have a great day!

Good Morning. We finally got some rain here after 40 dry days. It wasn't a lot, but it was rain.

I had a very eventful weekend. Saturday started off great. My grandson and friends were here bright and early as promised to start the deck. I headed to Home Depot to complain to a manager after I got nowhere on Friday. I was waiting on 3 deck boards. Headed over to find out they were at the store waiting to be picked up. Things did not go well so before I really lost my temper I left. I got the manager Saturday and explained the situation and why I was so angry. They really expected me to fit three 16 FOOT boards in my Mom Van??? I drive a Dodge Caravan and while it fits 7 people it cannot possibly fit the boards. After some discussion they were set up for delivery. That was the highlight of the afternoon. I get to my car and my husband calls; we have no electricity. Called the electric company to make sure they didn't shut me off, long story but I was threatened with that for being 3 days late paying my bill in full. No problem there. Called my grandson to find out the main wires leading into my house were in half. Called my dad for advice as he was an electrician. Called the electrician and he's up the mountains. At this point I'm freaking out. Thankfully the friends helping Jay were able to repair the lines. Then I found out my grandson accidentally cut the lines trying to remove rotted boards that needed to be replaced. I did calm down at that point since it was fixed and was really glad my grandson wasn't injured, but it could have been a deadly accident.

On top of that we must have had a really windy night as my storm door is now really damaged. Thankfully the new one should be here in a week or so. Taking down the deck which needed it anyway, it's almost 38 years old, also was good as the deck evidently was never installed properly. Sunday, I found out it wasn't even leveled properly. Thankfully my grandsons 2 friends do this for a living so I know we will be in good shape there. The electrician is coming out sometime today to make sure the fix is OK and when we demolish the basement, we will have the house rewired. The lines being cut turned out to be a small blessing as it did point out that the wires in the house need to be replaced.

My reunion was Saturday night, and I did have fun although I think my husband had more fun. One of our former teachers, Mr. Rush, was there and he was a real favorite of my husband. When Jim was in high school there was a bit of a rivalry between 2 of his teachers, Mr. Rush spread a rumor that the other one was engaged, and it wasn't true. As payback the other teacher had Jim and a couple other seniors get Mr. Rush's car, an MG which was a smaller car, and put it on the stage and then surprised Mr. Rush at the assembly. They had a good laugh over the memory. I did get to catch up with a few classmates but after 50 years we didn't have a lot in common anymore. I didn't really keep in contact with any of them since life got in the way with college and then raising a family. My best friend from school was supposed to be there and I was really looking forward to seeing her, but sadly she didn't show up. Two years and I get to do this again for Jim. I will know a couple more people there as his best friend and my brother should attend that one. I hope my brother goes anyway. One reunion while he was stationed in Germany everyone kept asking me if I used to be his sister. It got tiresome saying I think I still am his sister, no he isn't here, yes he's doing OK.

Today should be a quiet day and I'm hoping to talk with Ella later. She had her first date yesterday and after the heartache and angst on Friday, they had a misunderstanding, I can't wait to hear if it went well.

Hope you all have a nice day

Good sunny morning. We did get the promised rain yesterday. It rained most of the afternoon, and after 8 last night it was dumping down. The temps went up overnight and I woke to blue skies and sunshine, temps going near 50. My plans are to wash the car, and to put the Christmas lights up on the front porch while it's nice out.

I did next to nothing yesterday. I wasn't in the mood to do anything, so I did just that..nothing, lol

@tazdev3225 Wow, that was some weekend. Glad things are turning out okay in the end.

Have a good day everyone, thanks to all Veterans

Just playing catch up after the weekend.

Tazdev Such a busy and frustrating weekend. Glad it turned out well in the end. It sounds like you had a good time at your reunion.

Lynn You are so busy too. I like the cat houses. They look like good shelter for the cats.

Flyingdumbo Best wishes for good health for you and your father.

We had a nice trip to North Conway. I drove the Kancamagus fairly well and there was a coating off snow at the top and the road was a bit slippery for a few miles. I was surprised at how busy it was in North Conway. The outlets were having a Veterans Day sale. The first time we went we could not find a space to park so we went to the scenic overlook to see if Mt. Washington had snow. It did. I attached a picture. Then we went back and found a space. The stores were packed. My friend waited for me outside a couple of times as she wasn't interested in the store. We had nice dinners and watched Hallmark movies in the evening. On Sunday we went to the main part of North Conway to go to a few stores and actually had to wait in line to get into Zebs which is like a country store. It was the only store open at that time and the wait was only about 10 minutes. But I do buy alot of the stuff there for the kids and grandkids stockings. The 5 and 10 store was useful as always. There is a small toy store in the center that has different toys and I was able to get a gift for Charlotte. We had an early lunch which was good as the restaurant was almost full by the time we left. We hit a couple more stores and then chilled out before an early dinner. I feel like I got alot of stocking stuffers and a couple of gifts as well as the White Mountain calendars I give to the kids and to me. My friend and I agreed that next time we do this we are going midweek. We had a nice time and travel well together so it was fun. I did by myself some coffee, candy, mittens for my winter walking, and reading glasses on sale at Vera Bradley. Now back to reality. I have a laundry going, took a walk as I sat in the car far too long this morning and need to stretch, and plan on just relaxing a bit and reading. I am telling myself not to go onto work at all today as this is my vacation weekend. Tomorrow is soon enough for that!

Have a good rest of the day.

Not up to date on reading on any of my forums because we are getting our window installations done today and tomorrow. I have 12 windows on this go around with 9 more next time I decide to get crazy and spend too much money.

The big window on the back is turning into a Bay window. OMG, why didn't I do this years ago??? It makes such a difference in the room already and it's not even finished, other than it's 'in'. Working on it several hours already. It's more spacious than I expected due to the angle of the double hung windows on either side and that's a pleasant surprise.

Missing my naps with too many people around so I'll probably sleep much better tonight.

Prayers of sweet dreams to all of you always with love. Thank you all for your extra prayers for my dad and me. all of you are so dear to me indeed and I appreciate you!

Snowysmom, the country store sounds fun. I would have enjoyed browsing in there. Glad you had a good trip and agree that next time mid-week might make for less crowds.

Extra prayers of peace dear Taz!

Footballmouse, I am enjoying FRNDLY, thanks. I figured out how to record and it was so nice to be able to mostly fast forward commercials as needed. Happy birthdays again to you and Mia.

Judique, God willing should dad and I ever get to move we would both love an apartment with much more natural light. A bay window sounds lovely!

Lynn, I love your Minnie picture and HOORAY for you enjoying a do-nothing day. Please do that more often, my friend!
Tomorrow is going to be a busier Tuesday. Dad needs to do :laundy:and then go to Ralphs quickly in the morning. Not long after that, we are expecting Dr. S, our podiatrist to come. She is always scheduled within a 3-hour block, but we kindly get a call a half hour ahead of time when she is on her way. I had sure been praying by now to have been basically back to normal. I also realize over the last two months a lot has been going on that has necessitated my not putting in 100% daily to recovery. I know PT only works when you give it your all. I pray to start doing so 100+% this week ahead. Vivian is scheduled to come on Thursday for the first time in going on two months. Lot going on. Thank you always for you and all your love and encouragement. Have a good night, dear friends.

Flyingdumbo127 I hope you have good appts with Dr. S and Vivian and you have more time to devote to your PT. The country store is a nice place to browse and has some different items. The 5 and 10 is fun too as it takes me back to when I was a child and we had a 5 and 10 in town. So many cute unique items.

Judique Your bay window sounds lovely. I hope you window project goes well.

Good morning. It is 47 now and not supposed to get much higher today. Wind will pick up this afternoon. Back to the chill. Yesterday I reserved one shore excursion for my June cruise as it is one my friend and I really wanted to do and I read that it fills up fast. It is a trip to Bay of Fundy and the reversing Falls in St. John. We had a shore excursion credits as part of a promotion when we booked so that helped. We will look at a couple more for Halifax and Portland but we really wanted that one. I did some laundry and ground the coffee beans that I got in North Conway. Tonight I have a condo meeting which is supposed to last an hour but inevitably someone will keep asking questions that are usually not useful for all.

Off to work. It will be a busy day after being off yesterday. It will take me 2-3 days to catch up. Have a good day.

Good morning everyone :)

Snowysmom, way back in the 90's there was (long out of business now) Five and Dime Store in Houston. It was located right by a Half Price Books. Dad and Grandma are in a picture we have standing by tbe business sign out front. I also vaguely remember many years before that Pic N Save. My beloved Grandpa Sam loved that place. I may be making this up but am fairly sure way back tben in the late 70's and early 80's some items were 10 and 15 cents. I definitely remember days gone by of very cheap Thrifty Ice Cream cones. Good memories.

Good morning. Very windy again today, temps mid 50's. I got a lot done yesterday. I cleaned out the litterboxes and put new ones out. Washed the car and cleaned it inside and out, did the windows too. Then I got the Christmas lights up on the front porch. Rather do it early when it's 75 degrees out, than when it's 30.
I still have Don's phone, I'm not paying early to get out of the contract. I check it now and then for spam email and delete them. I thought I heard it ring last night, but was doing something else and didn't go look. I look this morning and it says Luke called it at 9 last night. I screenshot the pic and texted it to Luke this morning. He says he can see on his phone that it says he called, but he didn't. He said "Dad's still messing with me I guess, I hope he always does." It just seemed very odd to me.

Going to run to the little store over the PA line for some of their specials, and take the trash down. My back says to take it easy today, so I guess I better listen.

Have a good day

I remember a nickel for a single scoop cone and a dime for a double scoop cone- 60ties. Early 70ties up to 25 cents for a decent sized cone.

Second day of window work. They are busy doing all the outside moldings today. It's 56 and windy here today and beautifully sunny. If you can find a spot that's sheltered.

Every room has someone in the window. I went to the bathroom and was fortunate for privacy. I'd pulled the shower curtain all the way earlier.

It has me sort of in limbo as I don't really want to do anything constructive other than take a walk around to see progress every hour.

Hopefully it will all be finished this evening.

Good afternoon all! Just a quick post to say hello. We’ve been super busy with the apt, it’s really coming along now. Painter is here this week. Cabinets were delivered. DH and DS are going to start putting those up soon. Once in, the floor in living room and bedroom goes in, then DD can start putting her stuff in! She’s excited.

I love Jebs, DS brought me some fudge from there recently, and so many other country stores up in NH. We have a whole route we do to stop at a bunch of them. Glad you had a nice trip Snowysmom!

Bobbi I hope you are feeling better. Any updates?

Off to move some things around in apt for painter tomorrow. (Homework!)

Hugs to all, hope everyone’s well. Happy birthday to those I missed, here and in spirit!

Thank you, dear Pea. I also prefer the top one as it is more reverent to me. I also like that it includes animals. I just wish they were all looking at Jesus. I believe the real animals present at Jesus' birth knew in their own way Who He is. I will look into it and perhaps call Hobby lobby to ask what the "sweet song" listed in the description is. I appreciate so much you, always my friend and thinking of me. I will also look again on Amazon and Walmart. I do like supporting Hobby Lobby though when I am able to.

I also am still looking for three other Christmas related items. All help appreciated. The first are stocking holders that could be placed on top of a bookcase or table yet hold a full stocking without pulling it down if such a thing exists.

Second, I have shared this many times before. Dad and I have several wooden round ornaments. Any real Christmas tree we get is not big enough to hold a full-sized ornament. We have been trying to find an ornament stand or display case that we could add to over the years God willing and set up on our card table. I am picky and would prefer it not to be an A shape with hooks or wire. I'd rather it be wooden and ideally green and tree like.

Third thing is a Christmas church house decoration ideally that we could build but okay if not. I'd also love a wooden gingerbread house (not food) that we could build together. Thank you, friends.

Dr. S never did come today. Dad and I will need to reschedule. We had an unexpected emergency come up. Thank God we are both okay. Vivian is still scheduled to come on Thursday.

Peaceful good night to all. Please take an extra moment to tell those you love and care for that you do. With that, my deepest appreciation with love always to each of you. Sweet Dreams friends.

There are a lot of stocking holders on the Hobby Lobby site. Take a look through them! The metal ones I find are the strongest. Not sure about your other items but they might have some of those, as well, they seem to have everything!

And I think they are looking at Jesus, at least, as best as they can be in a set up like that. But yes, I believe they are!

Flyingdumbo127 I am glad you are OK and can reschedule soon with Vivian. It sounds like you are getting ready for the holidays.

Pea Nice to see you. Glad everything is going along well. I am enjoying my coffee that I got at Zebs. I also got a small piece of fudge which I am eating bite by bite over the days.

Good Morning. It is 30 degrees here with temps heading to the 40s. I did not walk at the lake yesterday as the wind was so cold. I went to Target and bought clothes for the grandkids for Christmas. Today I will go to Market Basket to pick up a few things. I am always shocked by the cost of the what I get and I don't even by any meat. The condo meeting was interesting yesterday. The builder did pocket a good amount of our money. When we bought into the condo 2 months condo fees were supposed to go to the reserve funds. Well, they didn't put it all into the fund so we are short. We are also short money in other accounts. There is a hearing in Feb to get our money back. The last 2 condos left cannot be sold by the builder due to the litagation and the buyers cannot get a mortgage with the litigation going on and the shortage in the funds. Our condos fees are going up which I expected. I knew they were too low when I moved in and compared to other condos around the new figure is probably more in line with what to expect. We also have an assessment to pay for a landscaping bill which the builder would not pay. I like the complex and the people but boy am I tired of the drama and wish I had gone elsewhere. But, other places have issues too. At least here we are all working together and have voted in 3 really good trustees. I got the new dining area lamp I ordered to replace the hideous one that came with the condo. Kenny will put it in when he has time.

Off to work. Have a good day.
