Purple Drinks?? for shower and wedding?

Stormy Morning.
1.5 oz Rathman Créme de Violette
1.5 oz St. Germain elderflower liqueur
1 oz fresh lime juice
4 oz Champagne
Lime wedges to garnish

Pour the creme de violette over ice. Add St. Germain and lime juice and top off with Champagne.

I haven't tried this drink yet but I love St. Germain Hummingbirds

Super pretty, I will have to check this out, we could use some kind of flute or martini glass, but .. I will have to taste test first.

Any clear drink can be purple if you want it to be; all you have to do is add a bit of food coloring.

For the shower I'd just make a white citrus punch and use concord grape instead of white grape.

White Citrus Punch (multiply as needed for quantity)

6 oz frozen white grape juice concentrate
6 oz frozen pineapple juice concentrate
6 oz frozen lemonade concentrate

2 litres of dry ginger ale OR two 750 ml bottles dry champagne
ice

For the cocktail, I wouldn't do purple, because a lot of people really don't like purple grape things; memories of cough syrup. What I would do is make a white cocktail and use candied violets or slices of purple passion fruit as a garnish, or drop a few frozen blueberries in each drink; the juice will turn it purple in seconds.

Oh my, someone else had the same stupid teenage idea? That was NASTY! It's a wonder we're still alive!

My teenage idea was grape soda and vodka, yum....which proves my theory. Teenagers are so stupid.

There is also a purple liqueor. I think it's called Luna. I think it's like a fruit Bailey's.





I just looked it up. It's Baja Luna Liqueur. It's a black raspberry creme liqueur. It's pretty and it's a good drink. Not a clear purple, more creamy.

I have a drink when we go to the Tilted Kilt, called a Purple Haze, it tastes like a melted grape popsicle.

I don't know how much of each of these they use,

Three Olives Grape Vodka
Peach Schnapps
Blue Curacao
Sweet & Sour
Sprite
Cranberry Juice

Grape soda and lemonaid is really good and pretty. Add vodka if you want to kick it up a little. The sweet and the tart go well together. We lighten it up by using Minute Maid light lemonaid and diet grape soda.

I don't know if they still make it or not, but I remember seeing some stuff called "Purple Passion" in stores. That might solve the WITH alcohol part....as far as the without, wouldn't be too helpful.

I was just going to mention this, it used to come in a 2-liter bottle. I loved that stuff back in the early 90's.
