Poly Bungalows (just pure curiosity)

I was playing around on the DW website and put in dates for the Poly Bungalows, I kept getting this response:
This room type is unavailable for the dates, party size or offer selected.

Regardless of the dates it always says it is unavailable. Do you have to book those through a special department due to the price? Or do they really sell out waaaaay in advance? Trust me I don't have the money to book it, but was just curious.

that's interesting... those bungalows are available at almost anytime to DVC owners. I would have expected that same availability for cash customers too.

They can be booked direct from Disney. Since nearly all of those bungalows have been declared into DVC member inventory, cash availability will be sporadic.

Didn't they give away a one night stay back during the year of a million dreams? I think that was the name of the celebration.

They did. Sitting in Sunshine Seasons eating when they first went to a new menu (like the one today) and got rid of the food that was made from ingredients from the Land - it was good- any way we got chosen for plastic lanyard with fast passes for every ride in Animal is Kingdom - still have them unused and they are good forever and a few tables away got a night in the castle.
It was a very random thing in other words the guests at this table at this time not based on other reasons.
In the end I has a not so great meal and an OK prize - ONLY because well... a night in the castle

Oh and as above the Bungalows are DVC they release them if they are un-booked at a closer date - However being owners "trade" points for cruises and regular hotel rooms Disney may have options to take one or more of the Bungalows prior but you will likely need to call and likely will have a non refundable deposit as it is not that easy for Disney to rent them cash.
