I am at stand still with my ability to decide what I should do for transportation. We aren't super tight on budget and are willing to spend if it's 100% worth it.
For reference we arrive at 6:02 AM on a Wednesday 04/16. We depart at 7:00pm on a Monday 04/21. 2 adults and a 9 year old

This is the pricing for private cars I have obtained, one way pricing shown below. I have no clue what Lyft/Uber would cost. I would likely have a coupon and credit card offer to bring the Lyft price down 15%-25%

Gear Fusion $81.00 (includes a 10% off coupon code WDWTT)
Cast and Crew $120.00
OMR $125.00 (includes a coupon)
FL Tours $118
Tiffany Town Car $95.00
Mco 2 Disney $110
Quicksilver $125
Genie $125
Various other services are all around $125

DH wants to Uber/Lyft. He has used these services much more than me. My experience with it has been hit or miss. As I am typing this I am leaning towards Gear Fusion. Thoughts?

We used Gear Fusion and they were fantastic. In fact we are using them again next trip. We Uber back to airport, but find it easier just to have a car service when arriving. And 81 isn't bad, especially if you are arriving during a busy "surge" period.

But Uber is a great option too, we've never had issues. We just happen to like the driver on the way there. Feels more "vacationy". :D

I just looked at my Uber history from past few Disney trips. All my Uber's to and from MCO (to Boardwalk, Dolphin and Coronado) were less $40 / ride without tip (highest was $38.28). All were UberX. I did have an Uber XL for one ride that was $52. Hope that helps.

Gear Fusion. My trips with them have been great and it’s nice not to battle the MCO rideshare madness- especially with a kid in tow. Grab bags and be escorted straight to the calm, private pickup area. It will also ease any concern about safe driving. (I’ve had too many unsafe rideshares in Orlando that I started paying up for the comfort whatever option for MCO to ensure more experienced drivers and that mostly solved that issue.)

Uber/Lyft would be between $50 and $60. There will be plenty of availability at that time. I use rideshares for almost every Orlando trip.

Lyft/Uber would likely be cheaper than any of these, especially if you have a coupon. What has been hit or miss about your experiences with rideshare?
Once I had someone pickup me and my daughter and he sped on the freeway, all windows rolled down, music blaring.

Another time someone claimed the ride and then when it was taking so long I checked location and she was at the store. She said she was getting gas but she was at a a store with no gas and it took a very long time. Was supposed to be picked up in 10 minutes and ended up waiting 45

Yes this does help alot. I was thinking it would be around $60 w/o tip.

This could be a great idea and compromise, private car at arrival and rideshare for return

I will have to look up the comfort thing, is it supposed to just be a bigger car or some other type of amenity? Normally we just book cheapest/quickest when DH is traveling for work.

Not bigger like a XL but newer with supposedly better legroom. The key to me is the drivers are supposed to be better rated/experienced. Lyft has a similar option. Price check both because they do surge.

This is a god topic.

I just returned from Disney on Monday after doing the Spring Surprise. I paid $171 for a rental car from National for 3 nights. I'm not crazy about car rentals but with as a DVC member I do get free parking at hotels and parks. I was able to get an estimate from Lyft for when we arrived at MCO which quoted me at $55-70 depending on the size car. And that was only 1 way. We also needed to get to Corpus Cristi Catholic Church for 10:30 mass on Sunday, and that's where now having to deal with a car service really brings in the value. In past years we've had to wait upwards of 45 minutes because we had to wait for someone to accept our request. Not how I want to spend a sunny afternoon. Plus we did take the care from Wilderness Lodge to AK and back, as well as 2 trips to Wide World of Sports to pick up our gear.

I have another rental lined up for us when we return in July but only for the first few nights of the trip. We're going for a volleyball tournament for 4 nights and then going back to Disney for 5 nights. I am only using the rental car for a the first few days and am returning it to the car rental office at Disney. We'll take a Lyft to MCO.

Thanks! 55-70 is quite a lot for a Lyft
I would for sure rent a car since we are DVC if were there less nights. since its 5 nights it bumps the rental up a bit too expensive.

I always book Mears when traveling with my kids. Feels safer to ride a large bus with a commercial driver than in a less regulated car. I’ve never had any issues; it’s always been a relaxing easy ride. The fact that it is cheaper too is a cherry on top for me.

In Orlando? I have had good experiences to/from MCO as a solo traveler. I also use Uber or Lyft to and from the parks when staying offsite. Cheaper than rental car and driving.

I totally get feeling safer, thats why we loved ME back when my son was 5 when we went. Since we have to pay now and it takes so long compared to other options is why I considered other options. If ME comes back I can for sure see us using it again in future.

Yep Orlando. I was nervous about Lyft landing at 6am and for other reasons, my husband was not. So we compromised. Private car on arrival Lyft back.
