I have two contracts (different use years, different home resorts). To make the reservation I wanted, I transferred some points from one contract to another. This made me wonder. Since I did that, would I be able to get a transfer from someone else via the rent/transfer forum?

My understanding is you can only have one transfer in and out per year.

Just to clarify for others who may be new…transferring occurs between memberships and not contracts.

Your ability transfer is because each of your contracts is in a different UY, which means the points can be moved to that other account..

Because you moved between your own memberships, it doesn’t count as your one and only. You can do it with another member.

MS actually now will do multiple transfers for owners when moving points between their own…so you could move your own points again as well.

Am a long-term BWV owner with 2 memberships and am finding booking across 2 memberships to be a headache! I’ve had one membership for over 20 years, and the 2nd one was created a couple of years ago (same use year, different ownership titling) . I’m beginning to think I should just transfer all the points from one of the memberships into the other for ease of use every year, assuming this is doable? Any downside?

For clarity, here’s the breakdown:

Membership #1:
BWV - several hundred points (bought in late 90’s)
VGF - 100pts (added a few years ago)

Membership #2:
VGF - 150 pts (bought a few years ago, different titling)

I almost always book at home resort 11 months out for both resorts. I purchased VGF points primarily for the newer Resort Studios, as like the fact that I can book 2 rooms and put in a request for them to be adjoining rooms. The problem is I usually have to use points out of both memberships to book both rooms, and given that they are different memberships have to allocate points carefully and given that they are different memberships, they can’t be combined, etc.

So I’m thinking if I were to just move the 150 VGF points from #2 into my original membership (#1) each year I could then mix & match all the VGF points and not go through some of the problems I’m having. Meaning that I’d have 250 VGF points in one bucket. Does this make sense and any reason I shouldn’t be doing so?

Just trying to simplify things!

Many thanks ☺️

Transferred points don’t do well online during home resort bookings.

So, you may have trouble using them and have to call.

However, since they are the same UY as what you have, you might be in the very specific situation that it will work…some have reported it did

But, once they banked them, it was called only until 7 months.

Ah, interesting. Having read a few transfer stories it was sounding to me like they became just the same (while holding the original properties). Appreciate the insight - for now I’ll hold off until I have a specific instance of needing to do so!
