Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

We had a non rider for several rides a couple of weeks ago. I just went in and cancelled that person individually in the app. No problems.

My sister doesn’t ride coasters or thrill rides. I simply cancel hers when we use ours and then book another one.
Yes it is simple and easy to just cancel a LLMP for 1 member of your travel party.

It is slightly more complex when trying to do this for a larger subset of your travel party. Yes some guests have run into the situation where they cancelled the wrong guest or multiple guests when rushing through the MDE process while making their way through the LL Queue and trying to book the next attraction for the group.

I just saw that Guardians will go standby, does this mean it will be included with the LLMP selection? Can you still buy LLSP for this ride?

Thanks.

As @LKing indicated GotG is still going to be a LLSP. A Standby Queue just replaces the VQ. There was some initial confusion based on the different conflicting Disney released initially but they did correct it after a few hours.

I can’t remember where I pulled these from but would love to get updated ones given the change in GOTG and Tiana’s to share with my party for mid-March trip. Does anyone know where I can find them? They look like they were from My Disney Experience but I can’t locate them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Definitely not MDE. There are no changes. Those are the up-to-date lists. The changes with Guardians and Tiana's only affect their virtual queues, not their lightning lanes. It's Tough to be a Bug will close in mid-March, but is now still open.

Just remember that some rides have 2 tap points, and the LL won’t count as used unless the guest taps at both. Also, it’s always possible to exit the ride without riding, just tell the CM at the loading dock and they’ll direct you. So if desired everyone could go through the queue together, and the non-riders could take the “chicken exit.” So another alternative.
Just to clarify, all those who meet the height requirement can go through the queue together. If a guest does not meet the height requirement they are not able to go through the queue.

It will only be LLSP and standby. It will not be offered as LLMP.

I’m sure these questions have been answered at some part of this thread but I don’t have time to read through all of it haha. I haven’t been for 2 years and I was a pro with G+ but I’m trying to get to know this new system. And I’ve got a couple questions

1. From what I understand (and correct me if I’m wrong) if you have a park hopper you just pay the LLMP price for your first park so if you start in AK you pay the price for AK which is typically much better than the price for the other parks but once you’re done with AK you can book rides in the other parks. So considering the fact that AK typically opens at 8 and is also typically the cheapest, it seems to me that starting there is a good strategy at least financially. That said, AK doesn’t have a ton of super necessary LL options meaning you would want to start booking for other parks asap. So with that said, at which point can you start booking for other parks while maintaining the cheaper LLMP price? Once the park opens can you modify your LLs to another park or do you have to use a LL first in order to modify the others to a different park?

2. Obviously the rides in tier 1 are the most important to have. I understand once you’ve used your first LL you can book another tier 1 ride. But I was watching a video from day 1 of the new system where they mentioned they heard you could actually cancel your first LL and go ahead and book another tier 1. So say for example I’m at MK and I have Haunted Mansion, Tiana’s, and Pirates booked in the morning and Haunted Mansion is booked for 9 AM when the park opens. When 9 AM comes can I cancel Haunted Mansion and book Space Mountain or do I have to physically scan into Haunted Mansion or let it expire? Or could I even just modify it to Space Mountain without needing to cancel it?

Interesting. I would like to know, too. If you try to replace it with something on the A list beforehand, it just says unavailable (I assume due to the other A-lister in your batch). I'm curious if all-out cancellation (after the day starts) will be different - I think they'd have thought of that, but there have always been loopholes and plenty of people to find them!

Of course, you're taking a risk of losing out altogether on the earlier FP. I don't have the answer, but my inclination is that you'd have to actually tap it out of existence (use it) to get the a-list availability. Does anyone know the real answer?

Ah, got it. Thanks for clarifying!

You have to physically tap into your AK ride in order to book the next one. It may sound like a good financial strategy to start at AK but it really isn't. Unlike Genie+, the choices for LLMP can be very limited on the day of. You may end up with no additional Tier 1 at any park if you start at AK.

2. Obviously the rides in tier 1 are the most important to have. I understand once you’ve used your first LL you can book another tier 1 ride. The app won't let you hold two Tier 1 rides before your park day. I assume you would have to scan into Haunted Mansion before you can book Space Mountain. Try not to let rides expire with LLMP unless you are really done for the day.

So with that said, at which point can you start booking for other parks while maintaining the cheaper LLMP price?
You can book replacement LLMP attractions at any park as soon as you tap in at one of your LLMP pre-selected attractions. Your price for LLMP will not change (go up) unless you switch unless you modify your park choice before you enter AK (in your example).

This method may not work or be a true value depending on how busy the park you want to hop to and keep using LLMP. Your selection of additional LLMP attractions may be limited, very late in the day or even later in the evening. Many guests just book for their second park and have 3 LLMP selections all ready waiting.

The small amount you would save be starting at AK may not be the value you think it would be in savings.

Once the park opens can you modify your LLs to another park or do you have to use a LL first in order to modify the others to a different park?
Just to clarify, you need to tap in to one of your LLMP selections to unlock Tiers and multi park booking (park hopper feature is required or AP).

When 9 AM comes can I cancel Haunted Mansion and book Space Mountain or do I have to physically scan into Haunted Mansion or let it expire? Or could I even just modify it to Space Mountain without needing to cancel it?
No you can't switch a Tier 2 to a Tier 1 until you tap in to the park, and also tap in at one of your LLMP selections. By taping in to an LLMP attraction you unlock the Tiers and are able to book any available LLMP attraction.

Two quick questions:

With Genie+, I seem to recall that you could buy for a specific park or for multi-park. Is it the same with LLMP? If I’m going to hop in the afternoon would I buy LLMP for my first park or is there a multi-park option?

I’m only there for a few days and I’ll be hopping from DHS to MK one day. I’m assuming Tiana LLMPs will disappear quickly. If I’m pre-booking my 3 rides in DHS, I’m assuming Tiana LLs will disappear before I can grab one around 1:00?

Thanks all!

There is no multi-park option. You buy LLMP for the first park where you will use it. Once you tap in to your first attraction at that park, you can book additional LLMP reservations in any park, assuming your ticket allows park hopping. You do not have to buy it for the first park you will enter, but can't use it in your first park of the day if you buy it for your second park of the day. Yes, you may have a problem getting Tiana's if you don't buy LLMP for MK in the first place. On the other hand, you have no chance at getting Slinky (or anything else in HS) if you buy for MK and go to HS first. You would not have to wait until 1:00 to try for Tiana's if you bought LLMP for HS and tapped in to your first ride before then. E.g., you buy for HS and tap in to Star Tours at 9:05 AM. You could try to get Tiana's then, even though you will still be in HS for the rest of the morning.

LLMP is not like Genie+ where the had a option for 1 park and Multi Park option. You just purchase for 1 Park and you can keep using it for other parks that you want to hop to later in the day. Once you tap into your first LLMP attraction you are able to make another LLMP selection at any park, and you are also able to modify your other 2 HS LLMP selections to any other park or just keep them in HS and as you use 1 your next selection might be in HS or you are able to select your next one in MK.

Yes it is likely that there will be no additional LLMP return times for Tiana's but since the system is dynamic it is always possible, other guests may cancel their LLMP for Tiana's, and you are able to use the Standby Queue that opened yesterday on Feb. 25th to replace the VQ.

Thank you so much for the clarifications! And @Dave006 too! We have gone to Disney every year for the past 20 years and I still can’t keep up with all the changes!

I guessed 1:00 for booking Tiana because I figured that’s when we’d be done pulling lightning lanes for DHS. We may need to rethink that though and grab Tiana sooner.

Thanks again!!

You're welcome. BTW, I'm saying you could try for Tiana's as soon as you tap into your first ride at HS. However, it may already be too late, even at 9:05 AM, unless you're lucky or persistent enough to get a cancellation or a drop.

Once you tap into your first LLMP attraction you are able to make another LLMP selection at any park, and you are also able to modify your other 2 HS LLMP selections to any other park or just keep them in HS and as you use 1 your next selection might be in HS or you are able to select your next one in MK.
Can I get some more clarification on this? Once I tap into my fist LLMP I can modify my other two lightning lanes? Can I modify a tier 2 to a tier 1 if available? Even at another park?
