Peanut/tree nuts allergies and most kids meals consist of uncrustable PB sandwiches!!

Ask the CMs at each QS and they'll be able to tell you what's safe for your child to eat.

Also, aren't Uncrustables prepackaged? I last had one at nine so I'm not sure. But it was a welcome relief from the yucky mac and cheese!

Uncrustables are prepackaged.

Not all of the counter service restaurants have them on the kids menu and all places also have other items on the kids menu. Most of the table service restaurants don't have peanut butter sandwiches on their kids menus.

We went last fall with a family whose youngest son was allergic to multiple things, including peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, milk/milk products, eggs.
He has anaphalactic allergies to several of those (I remember seafood/shellfish and peanuts/tree nuts, at least). He ate very well, with no issues during the trip.
Columbia Harbour House would have been able to handle his other allergies, but because they serve so many fish/shellfish items, they said they could not

For counter service restaurants, you tell the CM that you have a person with allergies in your group. They have policies to assist you.

For table service restaurants, it is best to have them note it on your reservation and also mention it when you check in and again to your server. The chef will come to your table and discuss the safe foods with you.

Peanut allergy is probably the most common allergy, so they are well prepared to deal with it.

where I work we are allowed to have uncrustables which do not change our no peanut listing. they are only for group bag meals not for every day sale. they are sealed and never taken out of packaging. they are for our group picnic area not dining room for us. the CS that serve them will not unwrap them but they will be at the tables but remember they can be anywhere in the parks as families can bring them into the parks for their kids to eat not just in CS's yes we have seen uncrustables and peanut butter crackers in lines all the time. so if being around them is a problem just be prepared for them to be other places than CS's

I noticed this summer that many locations now have what they call a "Power Pack Lunch" - yogurt, apples, carrot sticks, goldfish crackers, apple-cinnamon snack bar (which dd absolutely loved) and drink. I don't know if that replaced, or was in addition to, the uncrustables meal.

Last time we went I don't think my kids ate a peanut butter sandwich. They are at some CS, but not all and there are other options. When they are there they are sealed.
I would think the physical table or a line may cause more of a problem than the actual food at lunch.

Are you looking for places that serve something else, or are you looking for places that don't even have them on the menu because you don't want your child around them? They are packaged and sealed, so they will not contaminate anything in the food service area. You may have to contend with other kids eating them in the seating area, but with CS you can take the food away and eat someplace else.

Like others have posted, they're only an option on about 50% of the CS menus. They stay sealed so the CMs don't touch them. If we eat at a CS location that serves them, I wipe down our table (and my child's chair) with Clorox wipes.

The thing that really bothers is me is that we go during Star Wars Weekends and they serve a specialty cupcake (Darth Vader cupcake) that the main feature is peanut butter. In previous years, I think it was only available at select locations, but this year, it was at every CS and the same servers handling the regular food handle the cupcakes. Extremely unnerving.

My kids are 30, 13, and 10. We have been to Disney at least every other year since my oldest was 10. No one has ever eaten pb at any meal. There are many other options.

Even if they don't have uncrustables on the menu many QS places keep some in the fridge for people who ask for them as a vegetarian option. People also sometimes eat their own food brought in with them at QS tables. As a nut allergic person when I'm at a public location like that I always assume it's not safe and take precautions. If you place an allergy order at QS they will make sure your food is never near the allergan and they were even using a different color tray to be sure the eating surface was also safe.

I'm not sure what the OP is concerned about...just because Uncrustables is on the menu doesn't mean that nothing else is available for those with allergies.

:confused3

We have made many safe trips to WDW with a peanut allergy kid! Uncrustables sends fear into every PA mom, I get it. The things is, peanut butter at WDW is just a fact that has to be dealt with. Reality is, tables in CS are less a concern to us that benches and lines. In restaurants, wipe down the table, the chair and use a disposable place mat. The only CS we avoid because of peanut butter is Pinocchio House because tons of kids like to look out the window at small world so you get peanut butter covered kids moving around everywhere in there. We try to be alert to people in line eating peanut butter or even peanuts in line and smearing it on the rails. We have chosen to get out of line a time or two, and a few time let people pass us to put some room between us and the peanut butter eating kids in lines. Lots of people take their lunches to WDW, and of course they bring...peanut butter!!!!
The restaurants are great at dealing with PA. Be aware that many desserts are off limits and you might want to carry a few of your own. DS eats a ton of vanilla ice cream there! There is a menu of all restaurants so check out the places you might want to avoid. We avoid Ohanna because of the peanut sauce but that is about it. We do eat at non-disney owned places, but we also eat out a lot other places and are pretty good at drilling the staff and asking the right questions. Ask away if you have other questions.

I haven't seen many children's meals with the p'nut butter sandwiches - definitely are a lot of CS places that don't serve them. And, when they are served, are sealed.
