Partial Dues Payments No Longer Possible

I went in to make a partial payment on our dues using gift cards and after making the payment, it would not let me put it back on auto payment, saying I was past due. I called and apparently they changed the system so you can only pay in full if you remove automatic payments. They did a one time adjustment so I was able to restore automatic payments. You are able to make a partial payment prior to February 15th, but any further payments need to be paid in full. Not something I’m particularly happy about.

While you are enrolled in Auto-Pay for Annual Dues, Disney Gift Cards and Disney Rewards Redemption Cards are not acceptable forms of payment per our terms and conditions. To make a payment with a Gift Card or Rewards card, please first un-enroll by selecting My Annual Dues > Manage Auto-Pay > Cancel Autopay. After making your payment, please re-enroll in Autopay by February 14 for any remaining balance due. If you are not re-enrolled in Autopay by February 14, any outstanding Annual Dues balance...

There was a notice about this back in December and assume it’s still in the notices.

The system allowed the gift card payments when it should not have and they closed it this year.

Out of curiosity, did it apply any late penalty that had to be removed by accounting because it showed past due?

That’s one thing we didn’t know. If it would take partial and then apply a late fee immediately.

No late penalty applied, but I may have gotten it reversed before late fees would’ve been processed.

Silly me, I read the first part, but didn’t figure out the ramifications of the second part. So let this be a reminder to those who don’t pay attention to what was written like me.

Correct! Once you go on autopay, after Feb 15th, all monthly have to come from a bank account.

If you want to use a gift card after that date, you have to pay in full as autopay must be turned off and you can’t turn it back on until next year.

I have another question about annual dues, I paid my 2025 annual dues at closing of resale contract this month, if I want to do monthly payments can I go on autopay as soon as my points show up next month? Or do I have to pay the full 2026 points in january and then can start autopay since some months this year already passed?

Since 2025 is already paid, you are set. Next January, you can set up autopay and then pay your 2026 dues monthly.

If you want to get a head start on 2026, you can apply gift cards to your account and it will be there as a credit toward next years.

I just do monthly payments until July…and then I pay off balance of each of my contracts one month at a time so that by December, it’s over and I start the process again in January.

Now, if you buy direct this year, they will allow you to set up 2025 dues on autopay for that contract as it’s new.

You can turn off individual contracts and pay them off. For instance, I’ll likely payoff my smallest amount contract the next time I want to make a gift card payment. I have until June before they start taking payments, so I’ll payoff as many contracts as I can with what I save for dues each month.

If you are paying by CC in full, you shouldn’t have to remove autopay.

I just checked, you don’t have to remove autopay. They do give you the option to pay in full with a gift card. I believe your only limitation is the $1,000 limit on gift card size. I don’t know if you can make multiple gift card transactions for the same payment.
