We will be at Tokyo Disney next week. We have a vacation package with tickets for some rides and early entry for Disneyland but not sea. We prefer not to line up longer than necessary but want to enter the park close to its opening. Is it necessary for us to line up an hour in advance or will we be OK with maybe 1/2 hour? Is one side better for shorter lines? Any advice would be really appreciated.

Assuming you have the vacation package with unlimited access to priority lines, it's not super important to arrive early to get on rides.

Does arriving a bit later have any effect on show lottery chances?

The difference between 1 hour before and 1/2 an hour before park open shouldn't make a major difference in the chances of winning for a show lottery. If you have a large group, trying the lottery close to park open would be better than doing it right before the cut off time because there needs to be a block of available seats for your entire group to sit together in order for you to win.
