Quick question for those using Orbitz to plan trips. I used a promo code to get a percentage off my room. Right now it says you get 60 extra orbucks when you book a Disney room. It is not showing up on my account. I called and they say you can't use the percentage off and get the extra orbucks. Just wanted to double check and see if this was accurate. Anyone know? Thanks!!

Oh and I should mention that the Disney orbucks promo is not a code you put in. It is supposed to just show up in your account I guess.

To make things more interesting, I chatted with an Orbitz person and she said it can be applied to a promo. She took my two ressie numbers and said she would work on it. I screen shot the whole thing. Gonna give it a bit and see what appears in my orbucks account.

I saw this too on the first page in booking my room but not on any of the subsequent pages. Please let me know if this works for you!!! That would be an amazing deal!!!

I will!! I have spent ALOT of time on the phone today with them going back and forth. Here is what I struggled with:

1. B/c we had a child on the reservation, I only put 2 adults on the Orbitz booking. You have to call Orbitz (and the call wait is LOOOONG) and tell them to call Disney (while you are on their hold) and add the child. It is just a process.

2. What you get on the app and on the computer can add up differently as far as Orbucks goes. The app is giving 5% back right now. It told me I would get 114 for my booking of the Poly for November. BUT online, it clearly told me that the Poly qualified for 68.17 in bucks PLUS $60 bonus bucks....but when you get to the final booking page, that isn't on there and it just says you get the 68.17 in rewards. So, I chatted (twice today alone) with the Orbitz people and one said it was a glitch and I would get it but it takes up to 5 days to show in my account whereas the regular orbucks (the 68.17) showed instantly...and the other chat lady said I had to have a Orbitz credit card. So, I had to copy and paste the fine print to her and tell her what all I saw as I was booking and then she even tried to tell me I needed to apply for the card....NOT HAPPENING!! Finally, she heard me out and said she would note on my account that I should get the 60 bonus bucks within 5 days. I told her to note not only the one ressie I made while she was on chat but also the two others I made last night and tonight. She said she would. Point being...WHO KNOWS at this point! Plus I really wanted to use the 120 from the first two bookings towards the Poly ressie I made tonight but I couldn't b/c it takes 5 business days....ugh! We will use them later this spring for a trip probably though!

IF it all works out and I get the $60 for all 3 of my current ressies I made in the last 48 hours, then I will have 120 bonus bucks plus 100 in regular bucks...so that's $220 towards another trip...plus a friend on FB told me to go through Ebates and if you do that it says you get 3.9% back on hotel ressies that way too. We shall see if this all pans out but if it does, that's a lot of money back.

The best part is that I was able to book the Poly Garden view Club level for 2200 for 6 nights the week of Thanksgiving (leaving the day before T'giving)...not bad when you compare it to rack rate!!! I had a 30% promo code plus they were showing a great discount on it already b/c of the current Disney general public discount. So, bottom line...it was worth the hassle for that...and will be even more worth the hassles if it all works out on the extra bucks! LOL!

I will post an update when I find out what all transpires!!

I booked on Orbitz using a coupon code over a week ago and got the full Orbucks amount (including the $60 bonus that was advertised). No fuss at all. It showed up automatically. I did click through an Orbitz Rewards sign-up process to activate rewards on my Orbitz account prior to booking.

I also logged in through ebates and expect to get cash back. ebates is offering 3.8% cash back for what they call "retail" hotel reservations. Prepaid hotel reservations are only at 1.3%. I assume this falls under the prepaid category but am not sure.

It does say in the fine print that it may take up to 5 business days for the $60 to show in your account. Fingers crossed! We are only going for a short stay before a cruise- but 2 nights at the WL for $380 is dirt cheap! And $60 on top of that would be a wonderful bonus!

Wow they sure don't make it easy to find out how to contact them! I just realized that I did not get the $60 bonus, either... I got $73.69 for booking AKL via the mobile app, but no bonus. I have been looking all over for some way to email or online message about it (I hate dealing with the phone), but even the Contact Us link just takes you to a FAQ!

I guess I"ll have to call them if it doesn't show up in a couple days. I booked late Wednesday night.

When you click on any question in the FAQ, it will show the answer. Click on the question right above the answer and you will see a link to online chat on the right side of the screen. Here is a shortcut: https://faq.orbitz.com/app/chat/chat_launch

From what I understood in my chat last night (and I would call and ask if I were you bc the employees weren't very informed) is that the 60 bonus bucks is only available through a computer not the app. But the app gives more bucks than booking on a computer in general (without any buck promos) bc you get 5% back.
When I tried pricing it on the app, it automatically showed 114 orbucks which is 5%. I originally chatted with the woman to see if I would get the 5% plus the 60 bonus if I did the app and the answer was no. That would've been a way better deal. In the end, I booked on my computer as the chat lady promised the extra 60 would show in 5 days and that added to the 68 orbucks I instantly for would make a better profit for me. Hope that helps!!

I am jealous!!! I wish mine had showed up! I did see on their FB page that others were having issues so I am hoping it's a glitch. I was signed up bc the regular orbucks I earned did show up. Just not the bonus bucks. I did ebates too. My first time to use them and I am looking forward to how that all pans out! Not sure what the difference between retail and prepaid hotels would be??? We shall see!

Wow, that stinks. I booked through the app instead of the link through ebates because of the 5%.

Maybe I should book it again via the website and the ebates link and cancel the original one.

And I guess I better decide soon because the ebates "up to 8.45% cash back" ends tonight. :) Although it looks like that is just for cruises... hotels are 3.9%.

Yippee!!!! I checked my orbitz today and sure enough, the $60 is in my account!!! What a bargain!

Oh! Me too! I guess you can get them from booking on the mobile app! :cool1:

I'm not going to bother to cancel and rebook, then. I missed out like $15 overall by not going from ebates, but that is better than the ~$90 that I thought I was missing out on ($60 orbucks + $57 ebates - the 3% orbucks bonus from the mobile app).

My $60 showed up today too. BUT, I am not sure what the fine print means...it says one per booking and per orbucks account. Does that mean I only get one even though I booked 3 separate trips?? Or do you think I will get the other two bonuses soon?

So excited to read this thread! I have been trying to add a night at the end of our Christmas stay which I booked with free dining. Disney does not have availability at CSR with or without FD, but I was able to get the extra night with Orbitz without the FD of course. Hopefully, I will receive the $60 Orbucks reward, along with hotel discount of 10%, and regular Orbucks. I also used Ebates. Should amount to be about $100 savings!

Tomorrow will be the well worth hassle of adding a child to the reservation and then linking it up with MDE. I just hope that we will be able to stay in the same room for the last night, but at least we won't have to check in at another resort before heading for the parks.:cool1:

I received my $60 orbucks today! So excited, because I needed to add on a night at the beginning of our trip because we are flying in late a day earlier. I booked the one night at Pop and received the $60! My husband also had the 30% off code, so I used that too.

I opened a credit card a while ago and received the $50 statement credit for opening and spending $200, and to make it all even better, when I booked my original POR reservation, I had received a special code that gave me $50 off of my booking + I had a 20% off code at that time.

I can't be happier I already have $90 in orbucks to use for the future and my Pop stay was almost free with the statement credit and orbucks that I had in my account!
