***OFFICIAL February 2025 Thread***

Add me!!!
After several months of waiting to book flights, I finally pulled the trigger this weekend. (My life lesson - I don't know who you folks are out there that "watch flights and the prices drop" but I'm pretty sure you paid actors 😂. My flights just went up and up and up. So I gave up and just paid about a trillion dollars for my flights and I'm just done watching them now!!!)

We are headed for a very special "once in a lifetime" type of trip Feb 8-12! My friends have DVC and booked a 2 bedroom villa at GF and invited me to go! I am so very lucky! Of course when we go together, if they help with lodging, I am pitching in with meals or LL or whatever else to make it a bit more even!
There is a 99% chance that my son will come along too. He's 15, and has come to Disney with me in 2022, 2023, and 2024. I think this could be his last trip for awhile (maybe Universal in the future for him). And, he has to miss two days of 10th grade which is going to be REALLY tough. But, I figure this is a super special trip, a place we'd never get to see together. And, we're huge NFL fans so we want to be hanging out together watching Superbowl that Sunday.
Now, when I mention a local cheerleading group in Disney at the same time, I'm sure he'll be even more inclined to join us on this trip. 😜

It's my friend's birthday during this trip too, so while there are a handful of "must do's" for me and my son, I am more than happy to cater to her wishes and whims while we are there.

Our tentative plan is plane arrives Saturday around 3:45pm. Hire transportation to GF and just see the resort and enjoy that area, probably no park that day. Maybe a good dinner on the monorail loop or something. I'd love to watch fireworks or electric water pageant from GF someplace. Sunday, thinking HS very early and likely just 1/2 a day. Late lunch or pool time and then watch the big game in our room. Monday - MK. Hoping to see the Super Bowl parade that day. Tuesday - Epcot. Wednesday - home!

Happy to have found this thread! My daughter and I will be at the GF Villas 1/31 - 2/9. We usually visit in Dec or Jan, so Feb will be a new experience for us. GF will also be a new resort for us. We mostly stay at AKL Jambo, and I have to be honest - part of me will seriously miss the animals! But this is a bday trip for my daughter, so she chose the resort. Looking forward to reading through all the posts here.

Oh that's gonna be fun. We rented DVC points for the first time this year and stayed at GF. It was my dream resort and I can't believe I actually got to stay there. Its a beautiful resort.
Really happy to read this since this will be our first stay at GF.

Keep us updated and I can update the info in the opening post of the thread. February is my favorite time to go weather wise. Its perfect for people like my husband and I who are opposites in the temps we are comfy in.
I'm like your husband. Definitely prefer cooler weather. Hoping Feb doesn't disappoint. My last trip was towards the end of Jan, and we had a couple of uncomfortably warm (to me) days.

We just booked our flights and hotel, so I can officially join this group! My boyfriend and I will be at Sheraton Vistana Villas from February 8th to the 15th.

I'm glad I checked this thread because we were planning on going to HS on the 9th. We might need to rethink that plan if there is a cheer celebration there that day.

I wouldn't necessarily change your plans because they have an event for the competition participants...it just may mean that HS will be closing earlier that night. My daughter was a baton twirler and they had events had HS during their competition dates at WWoS, awards at Indiana Jones and private parties in the area by ToT with food and all. But they closed that area down a bit early for everyone else to do set up, and the park was already closed when the party started.

The information will be out there closer to the dates, so you can see if this will affect your plans at all. It probably just means that there is no chance of them extending park hours on that night.

Eh, it's not a huge deal to switch to another park on the 9th, so we're just going to plan on HS later in the week. I appreciate the extra info though!

Hello all! Happy to join you here for our February trip for the RunDisney Princess Weekend! I convinced a friend to run the 10K with me -- she's actually a runner and I am mostly there for the characters. I just started training this week so hoping I can get to a point where 6.2 miles doesn't make me too sore for the remainder of our trip.

We'll be at VGF February 18-23 and then a quick two nights at Universal. We actually pushed this trip back from November 2024 to January 2025 to now February based on some other friends' travel dates. Originally I was looking forward to taking in Epcot without a festival because that has been so rare, but I am SO excited that Festival of the Arts falls over Princess Weekend because it is absolutely my favorite Epcot festival.

We actually changed (and extended) our trip due to flight prices. They were ~$700 per person coming from NYC for our original dates, but I was able to get us three seats for ~62k Delta points by flying Tuesday-Tuesday instead of Monday- Sunday. It looks like a lot of airlines are cutting schedules and hiking prices, for instance American only had AM and PM flights available out of LGA with nothing midday. We have flexible enough schedules right now with a toddler that we are lucky enough to be able to shift our dates a bit, but I realize not everyone is as fortunate.

I was last at WDW in August with my toddler for a quick one-on-one trip and I tested out the LLMP in MK, AK, and Epcot, though AK was kind of a bust since Na'vi River Journey was down. Happy to answer questions about our experience!

Thank you for starting this thread 😊

Looking forward to my first couple's trip to WDW. It will be a split stay.

Feb 18 - 22 Orleans - French Quarter
Feb 22 - 25 All Star Music

This will only be my third time at WDW! We do want to take it easy and really enjoy our time there, but we do have an extra day in there where we could jump on over to Universal (we have never been)...ideas on what might be best? It would either be, two MK days or split with Universal 👀

Sounds like a fun trip! We stayed a ASMu last year and just loved it.
That one day at Universal. I know so many will say do it! And, it is a super fun park, so many rides and lots of great stuff for adults. But, I will say that one day we stayed in the Disney bubble and took one day to "jump over to Universal". It was sooo much work! The driving, the parking, trying to cover both parks and rides in one day. Plus the ticket price for one day is insane (like one day Disney passes). We were so tired at the end of that day and kind of felt like we didn't get our money's worth, if that makes sense?
If I had to do it again, I would rather just do a Universal only stay. Benefit of ticket prices like the buy 2 days get 2 free, or the express passes if you stay at the high end resorts, added transportation.
But that's just my opinion! there's no wrong way to vacation!

Thank you so much for the advise! No, this actually makes a ton of sense, when I looked at the price for one day I couldn't believe it. I think I am going to stick to my original 2 days at MK plan 😊

Yes that's sort of how we felt. We went at the time with people that had the annual pass, but paying that one day really hurt. I just felt like if I did it again, I'd do a Universal only trip and spread things out a bit. Either way it will be a blast!

So glad you are discussing this - day at Universal. I was thinking the same thing and wow the price for just one day. I even thought about adding a day to the end - staying at a value there but that still was super expensive. You are right you need to stay longer to get a “deal”.

That's just my opinion... don't want anyone thinking I am knocking Universal, or saying Disney is a bargain by any stretch of the imagination!! 🤣 Just for me and my travel companions, I feel like we'd get more bang for our buck, and also a more fun/relaxing trip by just focusing on one theme park set per trip. (I am hoping to try a full Universal experience sometime in 2026!!!)

Same here, I can’t wait ! I am going to aim for fall 2026 , really give them time to work out the kinks, and maybe the crowds will be at normal levels by then…? (Hopefully we don’t have a Japan Universal situation where years later it is still practically impossible to beat the crowds)…selfishly I hope the opening of Epic makes my Thanksgiving Disney trip much less crowded in 2025 lol

Whew, got you all added. It's been busy for me the last week so I've fallen behind on updating anything.

I'm down to 90 days (arriving 27 January)! Starting to try to plan out a basic schedule so I can be ready to book when ADRs open up.
