Refurbishments / Closures
California Grill (Contemporary Resort) closed 2/2/13-late summer 2013 for refurbishment
Tower Club Concierge Lounge and entire 14th floor (Contemporary Resort) closed through late Summer 2013 for refurbishment
Main Street Bakery (MK) and Fountain View (EP) closed for conversion to Starbucks, reopening Summer 2013
BoardWalk Bakery (BoardWalk Resort) closed 1/2/13-4/26/13 for expansion. A coffee cart will be available on the BoardWalk during this time.
The Spa at Disneys Saratoga Springs Resort closed 1/16/13-Summer 2013. Guests can use Senses A Disney Spa at the Grand Floridian.
Mad Tea Party closed 4/10/13 - 5/22/13 for refurbishment.
Mighty Duck Pond Pool (All Star Movies Resort) closed 4/1/13-4/12/13 for refurbishment. Guests can use the Fantasia Pool during this time.

YES!!!!! We are looking at April 12-21st. Not sure on which resort though. Depends if we will be renting points like this year from DH's co worker? If so we may be trying out BWV. If not we will be trying out the new AOA, regular room. So glad that I can jump right on here when we return from our April 2012 trip

We will be there April 20 - May 4th - 1st week offsite @ MILs timeshare - with 1 overnight onsight at Universal..not sure where yet, need the FOTL pass...Then off to AOA LM room for 1 week, Ariel is DDs fav. We are skipping this year too, We wanted to wait for AOA as well as the Fantasyland expansion/. we r going nuts ..

We will be going 4/20-4/28, and I am SO excited! Planning is half the fun, especially when there is someone to share it with! (My family thinks I am just a little too "nerdy" when it comes to Disney, but they sure don't mind coming along with me!). So far the only set plan we have is our 4 day Disney Cruise leaving Sunday 4/21 returning back to WDW Thurs 4/23. Anyone else on that cruise!? I am going to try to rent DVC points and surprise the kids with AKL for just one night when we arrive, I am a little nervous about that, I've never rented points. Then PC for the end of the trip is what I plan on booking. Now it's just a waiting game and hope for discounts to come up for next April

We'll be there approximately 4/20 - 4/28. We usually pull the boys out of school for Thursday & Friday before vacation but DS11 is starting middle school so we might not do that next year. Maybe just one day? Not exactly sure where we'll be staying yet. We have a timeshare so we'll be offsite for 7 nights & onsite for one or two, unless we go visit family in the Tampa area. We'll see what we feel like doing after this year's trip.

We are planning on being there 4/19-4/27!!!!
We are taking my DFIL for his 1st trip to Disney (he'll be 65 years old at the time of our trip, and its his first time to Disney )

Anyway, I am very much hoping for discounts as DH really wants to get 2rooms at AKL CL - $$$$$$$

I am hoping for the military discount to be continued, but if not, we also purchased AP's this year (since we are going this July, and possible Oct), so maybe an AP discount???

I just need something!!! Otherwise, two rooms at Pop it will be, and that's just fine too.

We are going April 12-21st! We always go late January and take the boys out of school so this will be our first "school vacation week" and I am already nervous about the crowds but VERY excited for the trip. We will be staying again at our home away from home, WILDERNESS LODGE!!!!!!! and celebrating our 10th Year Anniversary!! We are planning on a small vow renewal ceremony too!! I can't wait!!

I know we can book dining October 14th, but not sure when the packages come out for 2013?? also, trying to figure out when discounts might be released as I could REALLY use one!!! Fingers crossed people!!!

I'm working on an April trip so I'm a hopeful Trying to convince DH to go again (we're going this Sept.) as DD has seen the commercials with someone having a birthday and is always saying that she would love to have her birthday there so I'm trying to find ways to convince DH that it's worth flying down for a mini trip to make her wish come true

When I talked to Disney reservations about switching our dates from this April to April 2013, the fellow I talked to was gung ho on how all the refurbs would be done, FL expansion would have all the kinks worked out, all the tarps would be down on Main Street, the Animation resorts would be finished, etc. He made me feel like I shouldn't be sad but glad that I'm waiting another year.

I hope the refurb of Fantasyland is mostly finished by April 2013. We did not go this year because of the FL redo I don't want to wait anymore.

I'm planning a trip for as many at 17 for April 2013. The dates aren't firmed up yet; the family is still squabbling over them.

We'll be staying at Port Orleans Riverside, that much I do know. I was surprised that I could price out the rooms online for April 2013 yet. The online system only goes through 12/31/12. Any idea when 2013 rates will be published and packages available?

However, the rate that shows on my confirmation for next year is $214. Weekends currently are $225 but my 2013 confirmation shows $235. The lady I talked to told me I couldn't apply my AAA discount yet, so I am still waiting to do that.

It seems that in the past, new rates and packages for the upcoming year were released online in August. Last year they were released in June.

Count us in! I'm excited to be able to start planning our next trip for April 11-20th, 2013, after having to take this year off. We'll be staying at AKV, if all goes well. I might add a day at the beginning or end, as this is the shortest stay we've planned in a while, but DH's work is getting stricter about when they use their vacation time, so we're limited to school vacations. (We usually go the week before or after Spring Break.) It might work out okay, though, because this trip it will just be me, DH and DD. DS is in college so he'll have to miss out on this one. This will be my first trip without him, but he's already talking about a 2015 trip as a grad present!

Off to go make my new ticker! So excited!!!

Good to know. She told me I couldn't apply my AAA discount yet but to call back in a few months. So, I guess we wait until the new rates come out and then get the discount. While 10% is at least a bit of a discount, I really hope to see a bit more.

Dh is now telling me he thinks that if the dog dies, we should go the 2nd and 3rd week of Nov. or the 1st and 2nd week of Dec. instead of waiting until April. I'm still planning April.

Actually, I may book something before the rates come out for real. I'm going to upgrade my Disney Visa before the end of this month, so I'll be getting the extra percentage back for three months...hoping the rates come out before then so I can pay it off and get the extra money back for spending money at the parks, but today I realized that if they don't, I can just book dummy dates then switch my reservations when the packages come out for 2013, right?

Ahhh, I can't wait to go back to my happy place.

Add me to the list!!! DH and I are thisclose to making the commitment to go April 12-21st of next year for school vacation. Just need to be sure a yearly trip he must take for work won't interfere. This will be our fourth time together and 3rd time with the kids. We plan to surprise them this time!!!!!

Debating renting a house offsite vs staying on property. We have never stayed on-site though and both DH and I really want to do it at least once. We are thinking of POR as they have some rooms that will fit 5 people. It will be more expensive than renting a place, but I really want to do it!!! What's a couple extra shifts at work, right??

Does anybody know if those rooms get booked up fast? If I call to book now and we have to change our plans, will I have to pay a fee to cancel or change the reservation?
