Off-property gluten-free pizza delivery?

We are crashing at Old Key West for one night before our cruise at the end of the month. We will arrive after 10 hours of driving and we want something quick and easy to eat in our room.

We just want to have pizza delivered, but my wife has an auto-immune gluten sensitivity. There are several places in the area that advertise a GF menu - Pizza Hut, Mellow Mushroom, etc. - but anyone dealing with these issues knows that restaurants often advertise "GF" but don't maintain "clean" areas, and have loads of cross-contamination. I really don't want her to eat a GF-but-not-really-GF pizza and then have her joints flare up during the cruise.

Can anyone vouch for a place that makes truly GF pizza, and delivers?

Thanks!

why risk things with Pizza ( and Disney tell you not to call for pizza delivery with flyers left under your door.) I would do the QSR at OKW the CM are very good there about GF and I would think there will be less likely to be cross contamination then with someone delvering pizza all day.

Thanks. No, I wouldn't rely on the pizza flyers under any circumstance, much less trust them to be truly GF.

But, point well-taken. I'd trust Disney more than just about any other place I can think of.

We could do Good's, I guess. But jumping back in the car to drive back to the hospitality house to pick up food just sounded unappealing after 10 hours in the car, y'know?

Could you stop and get your food on the way to your room might be your best option

Good idea. That might be the way to go. Thanks!

OKW offers pizza delivery to your room. I don't know if they have any GF options. Maybe someone who has done the pizza delivery will chime in -- it's Sassagoula Pizza Delivery or something and also delivers to POR, POFQ and SSR.

Enjoy your vacation!

I would trust my local Mellow Mushroom with GF but that is because I have been there and seen the way they handle it. Not sure I would trust a random place (even of the same chain) with something like that.

Pizza Hut uses Udi's pizza crusts. They teamed up with the GIG (Gluten Intolerance Group) to set up how they make the gluten free pizza. Each location goes through training.

They are not some random place. And as someone with celiac, I would trust Pizza Hut. Certainly as much as I trust Disney. Heck, the couple of times that I have eaten at Pizza Hut, I've been fine. Disney totally messed up with me and served a fully glutened meal. And didn't let me know until after I had eaten some of it.

If you are willing to eat out, and some people aren't, then you take a chance every time you do. I'm willing to take that chance. And that means that once in a while, someone messes up and I end up sick.

That's worth me making a note to check for our trip to POFQ as I too am gluten intolerant thank you.

Someone mentioned Mellow Mushroom. There is one near Sea World. Maybe you can call ahead and arrange to pick up a pizza on your way to Disney.

Thanks. As others mentioned, I didn't know if they did GF pizzas. Perhaps I should call ahead and ask.

Mellow mushroom has been fantastic at every one I've visited. (We don't have one local so it's a must on vacation!)

Perhaps this document is old news to some of you, but here is what WDW Guest Services sent me. Not exactly comprehensive (OKW isn't listed), but I'd say it's a fair bet that this list is more-or-less representative of the WDW resort as a whole:

http://wdw.wdpromedia.com/media/kana/sd/WDW-GlutenFriendly.pdf

That document is dated June of 2015; I wouldn't want to rely upon fully it as Disney can, and does change things around. I noticed that OKW wasn't listed either! That's kind of weird! Additionally, there is no real reference for dining at Disney Springs, so you may want to reach out to them and ask about that specifically if you plan on spending time down there. (And staying at OKW, it's such an easy boat ride to Disney Springs!)

Yes, like I said, it's clearly not comprehensive, and they make the disclaimer on page 1 that things could change at any time. But since this document is what they sent me yesterday, I am guessing that, despite its age, it remains the status quo.

My larger point was that many places list GF pizza crusts on hand. I'd think the OKW kitchens could probably get their hands on some.
