October 12, 2013 - Western Caribbean on the Fantasy!!!

I ran this a couple of cruises ago.....was a lot of fun. It starts around 9-930 I think.
Basically you run form the last tram stop, down the runway- out around the bike trail (where the lookout tower is) and then down the runway to the adult beach and follow your steps back. It was extremely hot, but hey do hav water stations out there for you. There is a wide range of participants from fast runners to walkers. I know they also have tshirts available for purchase (DW got me one last year). :cheer2:
I might do it again this year as it is a great way to start the day on that beautiful island!

Getting excited for the cruise, just purchased on tickets last night!, direct out of BWI...can't beat Southwest!
Now just decidng to once again stay at the Radisson or try the Ron Jon Resort for the night before....:confused3

We are really excited about the cruise too. We are driving to Port Canaveral the night before and have decided to stay at the Radisson. Let us know which one you decide on.

We'll be at the Doubletree. We can't wait either...although don't want to wish away summer either. Kids are definitely ready for summer break! :)

Have finally booked our flights!! :banana::banana:

Managed to get a really good deal with KLM/Delta - via Amsterdam and Detroit but we don't mind a couple of stops if the timings are reasonable.

Have booked Pop Century for 3 nights before the cruise and the plan is to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel for one night after the cruise.

Not sure yet if we'll get park tickets as we were in WDW last October for 2 weeks and at Disneyland Paris in December - I quite fancy just mooching about the pool and maybe heading to DTD at night but I've got a feeling I'll be out- voted ::yes::. DD wants to see the latest additions to Fantasyland and DH loves going to Epcot at night for Grey Goose Slushies ( ok I do too!!:rotfl:)

Am really hoping this will be more of a chill out holiday than last year - I love WDW but it's not exactly a relaxing break.

We're booked for the two nights prior to the cruise at the Cocoa Beach La Quinta Inn using their Port Canaveral Park & Room package. We also have free Kennedy Space Center visitor tickets confirmed through our congressperson.

166 days and counting... :cool1:

At one point, two of the people (no longer traveling with us) thought we should meet by the kids's pool. My vote is that at this time, since we are a smaller group, let's meet at Bon Voyage. Perfect name, and just off the lobby from the looks of it. That way if there is hot weather or rain, we aren't looking for a plan b.

I agree, if our group remains small, Bon Voyage would be a good location.

Do we know how many people are planning on participating in the DisMeet the day we board? I believe we decided we would meet at Bon Voyage, but I don't remember what time we decided on. Maybe we can start a list: so anyone who wants to participate in a DisMeet on the day we board please post.

DisMEET/BON VOYAGE (Deck 3, Midship, in the grand Atrium) -- TIME: 2:30 PM
abitagirl916 = 3 adults
MickeezMeg = 2
mhconley = 2 adults, 1 child
kendzee94 = 1 adult, 1 child
mrssmiddy = 4 adults, 2 children

Two of us most likely!

Okay, so only half of our FE people have voted for their choice of where to split the group. Currently, we are only at 14 rooms participating. I set the options at 15,20, and 25. Please vote on FB or PM me here!!! Thanks!

Hi, there! I'm the 'other half' of Jjgarv. And I totally agree with you! While I also love WDW and it's incredibly fun, it's not relaxing to me (as the Mom). On the cruise, the only 'Mom' things I have to think about is keeping sunscreen on DD...and truthfully, it's usually DH who lotions her up before heading out.

This is the first time in several years that it will only be the three of us sailing. (Usually there are grandparents or friends or other family with us.) Our daughter will be close to 11 when we sail...maybe we can 'introduce' our girls to each other. :goodvibes

ETA: Wow...after looking at the kids ages on the FE list, I'm glad that there are more girls than I first realized that are right around DD's age!

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers!!!

Here it is May and in Southern Louisiana were are in the 40s at night and the 60s during the day.:goodvibes We are usually in the 80s during the day by this time of year.

We now have 160 days until our cruise!!!:yay: It will be here before we know it.

Yes only 160 days!! Ready for the 150's... Then 100's... Then double digits... Then single digits! Love hitting those milestones! NOW to move into our new house, get a new car (mine just crapped out), and get my booty in gear on dropping some lbs before we all sail out!!! So much to do and only a looming 160 days to do it LOL!

In the 150's!!!!!!! I am off to a hair show today for my job but I would realllly rather spend my day celebrating by packing for our move or buying FE supplies! Enjoy your new waiting game milestone!

My DD & I are on our 4th week of walking (2 days a week). We are now up to 3 miles.:yay: This is a big accomplishment for both of us (we are both overweight) and usually not active. It feels good to become active as we are trying to become healthier. Hopefully we will also lose some weight in the process. Planning on keeping this up, maybe even while on board. Contemplating joining a fitness center where we can also swim in the summer, and hopefully keep up the exercise even when it is cold or raining outside. Only 158 days to go until the cruise!:banana:

Good job! It's difficult to stick with it!!!

we are so ready for this trip.
anyone have advice on weather to stay near the airport and then disney shuttle to the port on cruise day, or stay on Coco beach? only the night before.

We may be interested in the meet, when and where? or should we wait a while to figure that out?
