NEW Rejected Offers Thread

FFS with how poor the British pound has got in the last week. It's near enough killed my DVC dream at current prices.

The currency difference means I need to even lower my low balls to make up for how much I have lost!
I miss read this as “lower my balls” and almost did a spit take, but the correct reading made me smile as well.

I’m sorry about the currency situation, if it’s any consolation, the very stable genius we re-elected wants to weaken the dollar a lot and I think he has what it takes to spook global markets enough to achieve it.

In the meantime, I support your continued quest, whether it takes low balls, ultra low balls, or even ground balls.

Sadly every time for President in waiting opens his mouth it makes dollar stronger. On the flip side the morons we have open mouth it makes the pound weaker.

Probably should have paid off my DCL cruise a few months ago.....

Currency differences do not matter to the seller---unless they are also homed in a non-US currency. I don't know why you would expect a seller to accept an even lower offer because you happen to be paying in GBP.

I did not say I did. Bit of an odd reply. as all I said is I will have to make my offers lower. If a seller accepts thats down to them.

It’s not great is it! I had a balance to pay for a resale contract which closed this week, but luckily I got it transferred before we slipped below 1.23! When I bought Poly in October we were at 1.34!

Why did I read this and instantly hear in my head “ To the WindOOOOOOws… To the Wall… To the Wall….”?

I'm very interested to see how inflation--if that is what is ahead (and that's still an if)--affects DVC resale pricing. I see one scenario in which inflation drags resale prices up with everything else. And I see another scenario in which resale goes down as middle class families will have less disposable income for things like vacations. By this time next year, we'll likely know the answer.

Yeah I feel like the boat sailed on what I was after or never appeared. All I wanted was a nice SSR 160ish points with some banked for not silly prices. Missed a few but all been around $95 as cheapest.

Are you looking at all brokers or just the main brokers you find on dvcforless.com? Cant say much more but you should branch out to look at other brokers listings if you haven't already 😉

Resort: AKV
Contract Size: 40
Asking: $130
Rejected Offer: $115

Stripped, seller pays dues
Countered at $120

Still too high IMO.
I love the resort but I’d be especially wary of buying there stripped for future years as dues can keep climbing. $120 is definitely on the high end for stripped but maybe not for a very small contract?
