I paid my DVC dues with a combination of Disney Rewards and Disney Gift Cards. I came up $76 short so I went ahead and bought another $100 at only 5% off to pay it off.

Now onto scraping up DGCs for my February Disneyland trip and April WDW trip .

Buy $120 four times (realistically $500 with DGC), get $40 bonus. With the target 5% plus this bonus, the discount is only 8.4%.

Is it worth 8.4%?

It's an 8.4 return on minimum spend ($40 back after spending $480), 8% on expected spend (the $500 DGCs). But your final discount on face value would be 13%, assuming you can use the $40 reward on products you'd be spending money on anyway.

Personally I like 10% returns for Target bonuses, but I've gotten as low as 4% before and took a while before I was targeted again for 8+. So I consider anything 8 and up and don't take the bait on less.

Oops bad math on my side. I’ll take the bait. I just went to target and stocked up on food ($15 off $75) and household supplies ($15 gift card on $50) and completed 1 of 4 bonuses. Lots of snacks for kids and much needed Clorox wipes, etc. super excited and thank you for correcting my math!!

For me, it took around 3 weeks. My last trick was to buy 1, than buy 3. Although the total is 4, it would let me keep on cycling between the 1 and 3.

My rule of thumb is for a 10 - 20% discount, I won't buy it unless I know for sure I will need the gift card within the next 6 months. For more than 20%, I will buy it if I know I will need it within the next year.

Secondly, I don't consider store gift cards (or in this case a target bonus) to be like cash, I consider them to be around 75 - 85% of the value since most of the time I end up having to buy something that would be cheaper elsewhere. A perfect example would be the recent Lidl gift card offer; while I used it to buy bottled spring water, their spring water was 42 cents more a pack than I could have gotten it on sale at ShopRite so the $20 reward ended up being worth only around $17.50.

So it will depend whether you are a person who regularly shops at Target and buys non gift card goods there.

I’m a little worried about this target circle offer. What if I don’t want the free membership, but shop at Target a lot so might meet this one? Haven’t people with the membership said that sometimes they only get bonus offers for using their membership, in which you can’t get gift cards?

I think people said they're bonus offers required them to use their Target Circle Card; irrelevant of whether they had Circle 360 membership or not.

I always use my target circle card, so that’s not an issue for me, but pretty sure some have reported only getting offers for using 360, so delivery essentially, in which you can’t get gift cards.

That's interesting. I just checked my account and without me doing so, it says "bonus activated". I got spend $199. I too don't want Target Circle 360. Guess I won't shop at Target for the next 20 days...very strange.

For me because it's just for the first year and if you don't pay attention you'll get charged after that. Also people have reported getting less bonuses, etc. as members.

Some of the folks on here started getting their spend x, get circle rewards bonuses as requiring that they use 360 and GCs aren't on 360. So, they essentially couldn't use the target circle bonuses on GCs anymore. I know I wouldn't want to risk that.

Didn't get the 360 offer but finally got another though it's 15 off when you spend 90 which isn't helpful. I generally don't spend that much at target in a month lately nevermind at once.

I had a "spend $400 get $40" in rewards offer and the free Target Circle 360 membership offer this week. I completed the $400/$40 offer today on two $200 DGCs and that also triggered my Target Circle 360 offer since I spent $199+. My Circle app said the year membership was available, BUT I needed to accept the 360 membership after making the purchase for it to activate to the actual membership.

It does not activate a membership automatically. I think it said the offer of the free membership expired in 35 days or something to that effect. If you do click accept, it takes you through several terms and conditions you need to approve before finally activating. I do need a 360 this year for various reasons, so I accepted the free membership.
