Believe they charge a 10% surcharge when you use the one day pass. It makes the gift cards cost more than face value.

YMMV but I used the BJs one day pass a few days ago and was able to get the Black Friday pricing for the Disney Gift Cards. $1417.47 charged to my card for 3 $500 DGCs, $472.49 each which I believe was the BF pricing.

Likewise. Today I bought 6 x $500 gift cards using the one-day pass for a total of $2834.94.

Afterward I remembered that the Chase Freedom extra 5% only covers the first $1,500 of combined spending in a quarter. Oops. Still, with the 1% from Chase and 5.5% discount (vs paying a flat $500 each), it was cheaper than buying them with my Red Card.

The last couple of Pepper boosts for Sam's Club have "sold out" in under 2 minutes. I am assuming it is just resellers with multiple accounts who go on the app at exactly 10:30 AM and are buying tons of Sam's Club gift cards.

I think Pepper needs to figure out a better way to handle this, because having their boosts gone in under a minute makes me less likely to want to use their app as it really irks me. I also work during the day as a teacher so I can't be on my phone at exactly 10:30 AM most days.

You should let them know.

It has been awhile since they did the $50 cards for $45 but I do believe they were billed from Best Buy.

I know it has worked in store for gift cards. But are online third party gift cards billed through Best Buy or an outside company?

I just looked back at my CC statement from last Dec when BB offered the $50 DGC for $45 and it was billed as "BESTBUYCOM" it was followed by a 12 digit number that may have been a confirmation number as they were slightly different for my 2 purchases.

Thanks for that! I'm not familiar with Cub Foods but I think it's a very generous offer and I'm happy you were able to take advantage of it. ::yes::
My sister went to buy some early afternoon and the customer service department said there was no Disney gift cards available at any Cub Foods store in the area.

Yes, works on 3rd party gift cards online. Gift cards are listed as being excluded, but that only applies to Best Buy eGift cards because payment for those is processed by CashStar. You can buy digital and physical gift cards for third parties from Best Buy’s website.
Quick question— is the DGC excluded from Rakuten’s BB 4% offer?

Likely- I know I’m being greedy and 10% is awesome as it is. Just would buy in person if there’s no Rakuten….

I hear you. I work nights, and I'm usually asleep during the Pepper deals. One thing I've noticed is that resellers really like the 14x or 16x Sam's Club offers, and their seem to have been more of those this last week. It might be coincidence, but I've had an easier time with 12x offers in the past.

There was a 12x that hit Sunday afternoon(2:30-3:00?) that I was able to snag.

I would guess that it doesn't include gift cards. If you look at Rakuten's Best Buy page, it say's 'point of sale activated cards', which I assume are gift cards. Rakuten 4% cash back isn't across the board - different purchase categories earn a different cash back percentage.

Rakuten specifically excludes gift cards and they're not just referring to Best Buy, it's a no on all gift cards. Read the terms. Direct link

Exclusions:

Cash Back is only available on select categories.

Cash Back is not available on the PS5 Pro, Apple Products (including iPhones, Apple Watch, AirPods, and Macbooks), Premium & Luxury Appliances, Digital Download Video Games, Magnolia Home Theater, Wi-Fi & Networking, Security, Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones, Gift Cards, Point of Sale Activation (POSA) Cards, Camcorders (except for Action Camcorders), and Cameras, Car Electronics & GPS, Electric Car Chargers, Tools, Drones, Digital Music, Musical Instruments, Services, Installation, Warranties, Delivery, Geek Squad Protection, and transactions on third party (i.e. non-BestBuy.com) websites or properties, even if such transactions occurred as a result of a Customer clicking a link from a Best Buy Property.
