Why does Flight of Passage always make me cry? ~ An 11 day August/24 Disney extravaganza! updated 11/17

Love your dress and you're relaxing night. Seeing HEA and then Scat Cats sounds too perfect.

Your Main Street dress is so cute! I absolutely love POFQ, my favourite resort, defo worth staying longer next time!

Wow that sounds awesome. I have rarely done that. Almost always it's a sprint from ride to ride.
Honestly the rides are a small part of the Disney experience. Don't get me wrong, they are fun and exciting but the theming and storytelling in the parks is what makes it for me.
I must do this some day.
It's the best!
Love the dress. You look great in it. :)
Thank you!
At first (through my tinny computer speaker) I thought I was listening to middle eastern music! I did a double take, turned up the volume a bit and actually looked and saw the sax player. Weird.
It's such a great show. I highly recommend trying it out.
You probably already know this but you can bring your popcorn bucket back each trip for refills! I try to bring mine each trip.
I ended up giving mine to a family at the bus stop. They had just arrived and I thought they might enjoy it.
I can’t believe I never spent any time in Scats Lounge except for getting Beignets!
Scat Cats is fab! Of course getting BeignYAYS is always a good idea!
I am planning a solo trip the end of April and I am staying at POFQ and will definitely check it out!
Exciting!! I need more POFQ time in my future.
Your dress is really cute. I love your Disney dress wardrobe. :)
Thank you so much! I may have bought two more for my December trip...;)
You had a great viewing spot. Was it close to the special exit between Tomorrowland Terrace and The Plaza restaurant?
Actually right on Main Street outside of Starbucks. I lucked into it. :)

Thanks for joining in! I really loved POFQ as well.

Oh, I completely agree. Without the themeing, it'd be... just like any other theme park. And it just isn't.
There's a reason HM is my favourite ride, and it's not because it's a high speed "thrilling" ride.
It's such a great show. I highly recommend trying it out.
I'll keep that in mind. :)

Hey Susan,

Now that I've finally graduated I'm finally making my way back onto the Boards.... slowly. Very, very slowly. I'm reading as I can and thought I'd catch up here since I'll be seeing you in December. I'm ridiculously excited about that by the way. :) I'll try hard to be more active here but still am studying for my Board Exams so time is still limited to spend on the DIS.

100%! It's my favourite for the same reason. I love all the theming in and around the parks.
I'll keep that in mind. :)
It's such a fun show!

Hi Liesa! Congrats on finishing a long and arduous program! See you in December. :)

It's time to get up close with Rhinos!

First up was fun with a fabulous photopass photographer! She really took her time with some special magic shots which turned out so cute!

After my fun photoshoot, I headed to Flights of Passage for my Lightning Lane! Even though It has the most boring (and annoying) pre show ever, I love the actual ride. The part where you descend into the cave and have all bioluminescent flowers start to glow with the sound of water and the floral scent completely overwhelms me every time and brings me to tears. The sheer beauty and tranquility of this scene is just so lovely.

Following FoP, I strolled along the back path up to Africa to stroll the Gorilla Falls trail before checking in for my tour.

I also got this super cute shot at the new mural in Africa.

The tour was incredible! No photos were allowed backstage of course. It was amazing to see the rhino barns, learn about their care and the role AK plays in supporting rhinos in the wild. Kendi was the rhino we met. We got to pet her and the best way I can describe how she felt was like a hairy cantaloupe. Kendi is the mom to six rhinos and her keeper told us "she really enjoys the boys"!

Originally I had booked Yak and Yeti for lunch but I wasn't feeling the cost of a TS lunch. So I hopped on a bus to AKL for lunch at the Mara where I thoroughly enjoyed the falafel platter. It's one of the best Disney values at $11.29.

I had my resort mug with me so filled up with Coke Zero and strolled around the resort after lunch. I was ready to head to Bay Lake now in hopes that my room would be ready. That's next!

You can just barely see the Okapi in the shade. The stripes give him away. :)
I also got this super cute shot at the new mural in Africa.
I'll have to look for this mural. It's very cute, and so is your dress.

We went to the Mara for lunch last December. It was a very pleasant surprise. I had some kind of salad with some ingredients that I never heard of, and it was really good. :)

We loved the Up Close with Rhinos 🦏 We met Dugan, RIP to him, he has passed. He did contribute to some of the baby rhinos. When we met him, he was the new “stud” on the Savannah :rotfl:
I thought he felt like a basketball
Good call on the falafel platter. I need to remember this when I am solo!

She really did a good job!

This one's my fave. :goodvibes

The first time, it was okay... but since then?

oy

Definitely a super cute shot of you. Where is this mural?

Interesting! I've tried a couple times to get on that tour, without success.
Kendi is the mom to six rhinos
Impressive.

That looks good! I've only been to the Mara to grab some Zebra Domes.

I love your dress!! Does it have pockets too?

Very cute pictures to start the day. I have such a hard time relaxing for pictures all alone, I do better when I blend in.

The Rhino tour sounds very interesting, maybe someday. I'm going to try for Savor the Savanna for our January trip.

I love Okapi!

Thank you! It's not far from the entrance to Kilamanjaro safari.

The falafel is a great meal. The other star of the show at the Mara is the butternut squash soup. So tasty!
This one's my fave. :goodvibes
Mine too!
Definitely a super cute shot of you. Where is this mural?
It is close by Kilamanjaro safari.
Interesting! I've tried a couple times to get on that tour, without success.
Same here! I was very pleased to be able to book it so easily last summer.
I love your dress!! Does it have pockets too?
It sure does! It's the swing dress style from Enchanted Dress Shoppe. The only thing is the swing dresses run bigger than their regular dresses so I really should have sized down. Hence the belt. :)
The Rhino tour sounds very interesting, maybe someday. I'm going to try for Savor the Savanna for our January trip.
Oooh!! Savour the Savannah is incredible!! Have you done it before?

This looks excellent. I've been researching healthier options for our December trip and this definitely goes on the list (and the butternut squash soup too).

I would also recommend the harissa grilled vegetable skewer from Primo Piatto. What are your December dates? I am down with my friend Caroline from December 5-9.
I love that Magic Shot with Pua!
Me too! ♥️
This will be totally new for us, if I can get it.
Fingers crossed ! You will LOVE it! :goodvibes

We were just wondering if that was good too! It looks great in photos. We're there Dec. 3 - 11. We were originally booked for Coronado which is so beautiful during the holidays but decided to save some cash and stay offsite again at the Residence Inn Flamingo Crossing.

That falafel plate looks really good and yeah, a good deal too!!

The AK tours are the best! I've done Savour the Savanah and adored the tour and food! But I really wish they've bring back the Wanyama Tour they used to have at the resorts that included a dinner at Jiko. The BEST!
