New Details Released for Disney Adventure

I assume people flying from Europe or the Americas will stop somewhere else first. I would love to combine this with a trip to Thailand and Vietnam.
I am lucky and have a friend in Singapore, so I’d see her for a few days, drag her on the cruise, and then either do Hong Kong or Shanghai Disneyland after. Then fly home.

I wouldn’t fly there just for the ship and turn around and go right back home. 😅

the lack of ports would appeal to me, if it were (a smaller, different ship and) based out of Florida. I would not travel halfway around the world to have Disney sail me around the ocean for a few days...

From a FB group dedicated to the Adventure, there's some speculation that the "magical days at sea" verbiage is telling that this ship won't be visiting any ports.

If that's the case, oof. It would be a hard no for me.
The main purpose of Disney Adventure is to attract new guests in Asia to their first Disney cruise just like what Wonder does in Aus/NZ (those sailings are called magic at sea). So there will be only short sailings to let more people experience the ship and Disney magic. Also short sailings make more money for Disney than longer sailings.

DCL is welcome to set this up however they think it'll work best for them, but if they're seriously considering 4-night sailings to nowhere I think they'll be looking at a pretty small customer base, and certainly I won't be one of their customers. I'll just go on Royal or MSC in the area instead.

Just as I said, I don't think there will be absolutely no ports for Disney Adventure. I can totally see one stop at Penang or Phuket for 4-night sailings. Wonder also had one stop at Eden or Hobart on selected 4-night sailings while in Australia.

The more I ponder the more I assume this is WHY they're starting out this way. They need to build up a local base just like they have in the US. What better way to do that than by keeping the price low on short to nowhere cruises where they fully showcase their own brand, and dissuade the usual hoard of repeat visitors?

I am so disappointed that the Adventure will not offer much of an adventure with only 3/4 day sailings. We were so looking forward to a longer itinerary with a bunch of ports. I too don’t think we will fly half way around the world to spend 3 days on this ship. Here’s to hoping longer itineraries are offered later on.

From an article on The Points Guy:

“Disney's new ship will sail three- and four-night cruises departing from Singapore's Marina Bay Cruise Centre for at least the next five years in partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board. The line has yet to reveal specific details of the itineraries. Short cruises out of Singapore will likely draw an international crowd, with many passengers hailing from Asia.”

I'm pretty sure they will start with 3 and 4 nights- attracting locals for one ot the other and knowing that the hard-core fans will want to B2b - making more money by selling two cruises.

I'm sure once they have a large enough database of Australians (from Wonder sailings) and Asian locals from the Advebture sailings they will introduce longer cruises. I don't see them sailing to any Disney parks - but wonder if Adventures By Disney may get involved somehow.

I would bet there is a casino - but you won't hear a thing about it in the international press or before the cruise - I feel it will be quietly marketed throughout Asia.

IMG_7672.jpegAustralia has 26 million people. China has a population of 1.4 BILLION. I am going to guess a lot of Asians on those cruises and maybe fill crew positions.

Map of the seven “adventure” zones on the ship.

Sign us up. We will probably do B2B, as the prices should be attractive with the ship size and location.

Quick itinerary for December 2025. A 12-nighter on Celebrity Millennium from Bali to Singapore, followed by a week on the Adventure.

Don't mind the lack of ports a single bit. Would much rather enjoy every venue on the ship so far from home.

I hope there is not a casino.

Why?

We arent gambling people at all - but never had a problem being in the vicinity of a casino In other cruises. I wont waste my money, we just avoid the casino. It makes no difference to us that a casino is there because we don't use it. Same as kids clubs - we don't use them so just walk on by. Or the over priced jewellery.

It can be tucked out of the way (which if they do have one it will.be) and you don't have to stop by - but other people (looking at the 1.4bn chinese who love a flutter) may want to and it may be an important part of their vacation.

…and if guests are in the casino, it leaves more room in other venues for the non-gamblers.

The bigger question relates to a typical problem with casinos - smoking. I am going to hope that if Disney were to have a casino, they would do what other mainline ships have done - and put in a smoking section in an enclosed space.

Agree about smoking which used to be extremely prevalent here in the US . . . and the Chinese area big smokers! Not saying they are interested in the Disney Adventure BUT it will be interesting to see how DCL handles that issue. i remember smoking sections on planes and in restaurants. . . .

Smoke is a big reason

I like that Disney caters to families, the whole premise from Walt is a place the family can be together. Yes, there are some adult only venues, and some kids only venues, but casinos offer a whole different level to the adult-only emphasis.

Drinking is also emphasized for obvious reasons. I am worried there would be a lot more drunk passengers on the ship.

I worry that if it is done on the Adventure, it will be replicated elsewhere throughout the fleet. That means casinos will likely come at the expense of other venues that I do, or my children would, frequent. (I don't imagine them removing cabins to create the casinos).

Now to be fair, the Adventure is a much larger ship, and can absorb the space hit better than say the Magic, but I just hope Disney holds to the hard and fast rule of no casinos.

Disney has stayed away from some of the slimier cruise ship elements like casinos, and no longer does art "auctions" at sea which are notoriously deceptive. I think that focus on family entertainment has done them well, and they'd be wise to continue it...

Disneybwont be changing the US ships - it doesn't fit their US model or give any help to their fight of not having casinos in Florida (because it takes away money from the parks).

A casino doesn't have to be smoke filled. Plenty of cruises now have smoke free casinos. I also can't see Disney giving away free alcohol. But the alcohol culture in Asia is way different to that of the US.

I just think if its not affecting your family time, it shoukd be of no concern to you - unless you are worried about getting drawn into those slots 🤣🤣 I'm sure if there were any plans to have a casino it would not be signposted and I imagine it would be ti ked away on a lower deck with absolutely no other spaces around it. Almost like a speakeasy. It won't be marketed ad part of the package - and it certainly won't be marketed to any western audiences. If the ship does leave Asia in 5 years, they can close it off and pretend it never existed.

I am the last generation to remember smoking sections in restaurants. I also remember a PSA about smoke doesn't stay in the smoking section, which is why due to the negative and harmful effects of second hand smoke, in the US so many if not most places are smoke-free indoors/inside.

I would assume there would be a smoking section on part this ship and it will be the same system as the other DCL ships.
