What is your favorite boxed brownie mix?
I just made a Pillsbury one that I did not like..was too cakelike!
So I was just wondering which one you are all happy with???

Betty Crocker with the Hershey chocolate bits. Most people don't even realize it's a mix. :rolleyes1

Ghiardelli did not go over well here at all. Nobody liked the flavor and I love their chocolate. :confused3

I agree. Something was just off. They were ok when I first cut them but the next day, when most brownies are actually better, they had a funny fake chocolate taste. Nobody would eat them.
I usually make them from scratch (I use Ina Garten's recipe :goodvibes ) but when I do use a mix, I like the Duncan Heinz with the packet of Hershey fudge included.
Oh man, I need to make Brownies now...

I use the Pampered Chef recipe from scratch

We tried Ghiardelli too and I liked it ok, but eveyone else thought it was too chocolately --is that a word? LOL

We used to use Betty Crocker, but changed recently to Duncan Hines and we like it better. My fav is Duncan Hines Turtle.

Ghiradelli brownie mix, but it has to be the dark chocolate kind with the chocolate chips in the mix! It ends up being more of a fudge consistancy than cake-like, which is fabulous imo.

If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, their Chocolate Truffle brownie mix is very, very good as well.

Ghiardelli! Hands down. Won't make any other any more.

They are sooooooooo good.

I am rather famous for my homemade brownies, which I make in huge batches. I use a ton of really good chocolate and they are best served with vanilla ice cream.

When not making from scratch, I always use Ghiardelli....They come in a close second to my homemade!

Did the box have two sets of directions/ingredients? There is usually one method for "cakelike" brownies and one for "chewy" brownies. I always make the chewy kind.

I also vote for Duncan Hines, with the chocolate packet. I add my own chopped walnuts.

One time I lost a bet with the kids I work with and I had to bring in brownies. I bought 2 boxes of the cheapest store brand which was food lion and they were great! I was shocked!

Another vote for Ghiradelli. I made a box of them last week, and they were gone so fast. I am planning on making another batch today :).

Ghiradelli Trible Chocolate Brownie mix!! Loved by everyone in this house and anyone I ever gave them too. I get the mix in Costco.

We like the Betty Crocker fudge brownie mix. My DH and I like them made cakelike with pecans or walnuts added to the mix. Our DD likes them made cakelike but without the nuts. Sometimes we add powered sugar on the top.
