My 3 year old keeps wanting me to play Paddy Cake, but I don't know the words. Can someone help me by posting the words.

Patty-cake, patty-cake baker's man
Bake me a cake as fast as you can
Pat it, and roll it, and mark it with a B
And throw it in the oven for Baby & Me!

Have fun!

pat a cake, pat a cake
baker's man
bake me a cake
as fast as you can
roll it and prick it and mark it with a b
and put it in the oven for baby and me

i can't believe i still remember that!

pat a cake
pat a cake
baker's man
bake me a cake as fast as you can
pat it
roll it
mark it with a 'b'
and put put it in the oven for baby and me

Just off the top of my head. I hope I have the words right.

ETA: I just noticed that it was recited here a few times and the words are slightly different in each one. :rotfl:

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

It's so simple. I wrote it down and will be able to play it with my little guy tonight.

Perhaps you should ask some of the experts such as

Mine at 3 loved "5 little monkeys"
If you are not familiar with it you go:
5 little Monkeys swinging in a tree
teasing mr aligator -can't catch me
Along somes Mr aligator quiet as can be (whisper this line)
And SNAP! (yell Snap and slap your hands together like an aligator closing his mouth)
Then do another verse with 4 then 3 and so on -till you get to no more monkeys and say Mr. Alligator is as full as can be instead of quiet as can be.
My kids LOVED this at 3.
:)

An oldie but a goodie from Toddler Storytime:

Here is the beehive (tight fist)
But where are the bees? (shrug shoulders)
Hidden away where nobody sees (roll fist over, but keep closed)

Here they come, creeping out of their hive (big voice with excitement!!!)
One, two, three, four, five!!(unroll fingers and count)

BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!(wiggle all five fingers and tickle your child)

My son's favorite was Ten in the Bed. Only I changed the words a bit and added the word bears and "I'm squished, roll over!".

My version......

Ten bears in the bed and the little one said "I'm squished, roll over"

So they all rolled over and one fell out
9 bears in the bed and the little one said, "I'm squished, roll over"

keep repeating until you get to the end.......

so they both rolled over and one fell out, little bear left in bed and he said "I'm lonely"

and the way I continue the song is to say ...

So they all crawled back in the bed and the little one said "I'm squished, roll over"..........

I never sang this as a bedtime thing. I put my son on my knee and bounced him and when the bear fell off the bed I sort of tilted my son backward to give the feeling of falling as the song implies. Tons of laughs and good memories.
