My grandparents 50th anniversary is coming up and a couple of the grandchildren are working on a dvd that will have a ton of pictures . My cousins just called me to see if i had any ideas for songs to put on the dvd as the pictures are changing. The only one we know for sure is "Remember When" by Alan Jackson.

Any other ideas?
Thanks so much!

Look up what songs were on the hit lists the yr they got married.

We did this for my in-laws 50th this past summer. The pics went in chronological order, and for the pictures of MIL and FIL when they were in high school, we used the song "Today I Met the Boy I'm Gonna Marry" by Darlene Love. That was my favorite, it was really cute to see the black and white pictures of them their prom clothes and to hear that old song.

We used "We are Family" for the pics of all the family, and then we used "Remember When" for miscelleneous picures. We also used "Beautiful in My Eyes" by Joshua Kadisson, "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers, and "When I Said I Do" by Clint Black.

We also burned some CDs of songs that were popular in 1956 and played them throughout the party.

I don't personally like this song but "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers comes to mind!

I've always loved "Unchained Melody." It's a beautiful song that just sums it all up, and seems to transcend generations, as it's such a classic.

a beautiful song for such an occasion is Look at Us by Vince Gill

I did this several years ago for my parents 50th anniversary using the music only to "Wind Beneath my Wings." Beautiful.... I started with pictures of their parents, then baby pictures, family pictures, marriage, children, grandkids and ended with a picture of the back of them looking at the sunset.

Ask them if they have a special song. Including "their" song would be a special gesture that would give them both a smile.

Lots of great song ideas here and you're going to have alot of fun doing this for them! Good idea to look up what songs were hits 50 yrs ago.

"Look at Us" by Vince Gill brings fond memories to my heart, as we used it for my dear parents 50th Annv party. I can still visualize Mom and Dad with tears in their eyes on the dance floor and love to watch their video. For DH's and I last annv party, the kids chose "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers. I also vote for Alan Jackson's "Remember When", beautiful song and video!

Good luck in your decisions and Congrats to your dear grandparents! :goodvibes

We didn't do the picture/DVD thing, but this past Sept. for my aunt & uncle's 50th, I made a CD of songs from the 50's. Also included some newer "love" songs and some of there fave. songs, including Unchained Melody, which is "there" song. :) My aunt really enjoyed it and still plays the CD all the time. :)

I don't know the NAME of the song, but it goes like this "if you want my body and you think I'm sexy......" :lmao: :lmao:

There is no better song for an older married couble then When Im 64 from the Beatles. I played that for my grandparents!!! = )

Still Crazy (after all these years) by Paul Simon or Memories by Barbra Streisand would also be good choices

"This is the Time to Remember" by Billy Joel.

Do you know their wedding song. My parents just celebrated their 50th anniversay Dec 2nd. We had somone sing "because" by Perry Como since it was their wedding song.
