Need quick hotel help...BW PPI screwed me over!!

We just stayed at Desert Inn and Suites for the second time. Very basic, but we are park open to park close people. Such a great value for being so close to the parks. No waiting on buses. If we bought something we didn't want to carry around, it was easy to pop back to the room.

Breakfast was free but also very basic. Hard boiled eggs, cheese cubes, packaged danishes, toast, juice and coffee on tap. Not my favorite but loved the convenience of popping in and grabbing some eggs and cheese to get me through rope drop until we were ready to eat in the parks.

The low price made it easier to justify a splurge like the Napa Rose princess breakfast.

Recent reviews for the Anaheim Hotel have been more negative than positive. Castle Inn seems okay. Del Sol doesn't get mentioned much, so hard to say. Grand Legacy it really depends on room location. I know they have some deals for the earlier part of the year, so it might be worth looking into.

I agree with watching Anaheim Park Tourist's videos and YouTube. Provost Park Pass and SoCal Disney Dad have done some hotel videos also.

Something else's I've seen mentioned recently is to call the hotel directly because sometimes when online shows no availability, while calling direct they can get you in.

So frustrating to have that happen, especially from a well known chain like that. Good luck finding another hotel.

Park Vue has always been my go to, call direct to get best pricing. Depending on the room setup that you are booking will determine where in the building your room is located.

Rooms with a bunkbed are much closer to the front of the building (pro: shorter walk at end of night, con: smaller room). Two queen rooms will be further back from the street (pro: larger room, quieter, con: that parking lot feels like its extra long at the end of the night).

Candy Cane Inn has a shuttle btw if you think it is a bit far, it is really only about a 10 min walk going slow but the shuttle is free and designated for that hotel only. We usually stay there when we go.

I've been in a similar situation, and it’s so frustrating when plans get messed up last minute. If you're looking for a solid backup option, hotel haymarket could be worth considering. I stayed there before, and it was a smooth experience—clean rooms, friendly staff, and no surprises at check-in. It’s a relief to have a place that doesn’t give you headaches when you just want to enjoy your trip.

We've stayed at Camelot, as well as both Best Westerns and all were great. The Camelot I think has had the most recent renovations compared to the two BW's and their rooms feel bigger too. I did stay at Park Vue once....like 30 years ago! But the location and building is still the same and so you really do get bang for the buck...with the bang being that it's across the street from the entrance like the others. For our upcoming trip next week, we originally wanted Camelot and BW's as well, but they were fully booked (though, we were booking a week ago and not months in advance). We wound up going with the Hyatt House "way down" on Katella and guess what, just about 5 minutes ago, a room (or rooms?) opened up at the BWPPI. Otheres on here have noted that the spaces do pop up now and then and so Iv'e been checking all throughout thsi past week. Although at this point, I'm not going to bother switching. So, just keep trying the sites for the hotels you want (i.e., keep refreshing the screen through out the day.....if you have that time).

Check out Anaheim Park Tourist on YouTube-they do reviews of all the hotels and quite often a walking video to show you how far it is to the gates. Plus Crystal is on here and really nice and helpful!
We stayed Candy Cane and are going back later this year-very clean , lovely rooms and grounds, staff are so friendly and helpful and its free breakfast and parking. Plus the trolley goes once an hour and is a lovely ride, especially at the end of the day!

Thanks for the shout out!!

My vote would be Park Vue. We just stayed there again in November and loved our stay. Clean and for a motel, super quiet. And cannot beat that short walk.

So sorry BW cancelled on you!! We had that happen way back in the 90s and it’s one of the reasons we decided to start our YouTube channel.
