I know to most of you this probably sounds dumb, but at this very moment in my life I'm on the verge of a crisis!! My son's birthday party is tomorrow, we've spent WAY too much time on customized decorations and not nearly enough time on the essentials.
Here's the deal: We have 33 people coming, about 18 of which are very young children. As the main dish we're getting a large deli platter that serves 20-22 people (that's the larges they make). There will be various sides, but I wanted to also have another main dish option to make sure there is enough substantial food to go around and I decided on fried chicken.
The question I have is how many pieces of chicken should I order to make sure it doesn't seem skimpy but also to not have an overabundant amount left over? We never get fried chicken normally, so I'm not familiar with what quantities feed how many. Oh, and I need to order this today, I'm hoping they don't need a lot of notice for a large order.
I feel so fried-chicken impaired, please help!
