I bought way to many blocks of philly when it was on sale. I'd like to make a spread or dip for tomorrow but I don't have any recipes that use cream cheese. Any simple ideas?

Do you have a jar of red pepper jelly or relish around? Mix the two together and serve with a nice cracker.

Kraft jar of old english cheese, 1 block of cream cheese, 1 tsp garlic powder, mix together and serve. It is DD's favorite!

Get a jar of shrimp cocktail with the red sauce. Put the Philly in the middle of a plate, pour the shrimp cocktail & sauce over it and surround it with crackers. This is always a big hit for our parties.

This is reallly really simple...take a block of cream cheese, place on a nice platter, pour over a really good quality spicy pepper jelly (green or red), serve with fancy crackers. Some people really like the spiciness of the jelly with the creaminess of the cheese, me, I do not like it, but I have served this before and serveral of my friends really like it.

Good Luck!!

Not that this goes with Thanksgiving or anything, but spread Philly on the bottom of a baking dish, cover with salsa and then shredded cheddar. Nuke until bubbly and serve with tortilla chips. It is so addictive!

Not knowing what other ingredients you have to work with, try checking out this website:

Allrecipes.com

I just did an ingredient search and used "dip" in the additional keywords.

I JUST FINISHED STUFFING CELERY.

Mix chives & chream cheese, stuff in celery stalks! Yummy
Also if you have, you can add walnuts too!

ORRRRRRRRRRR

Make a Cream cheese & Jelly sandwich!

Happy Thanksgiving! :thumbsup2

You can also soften it in the microwave then mix with a can of ROTEL w/ Chili's, form back into a ball, and roll over unsalted roasted nuts. If you don't have ROTEL then you can use a jar of Pace Picante sauce. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Not a dip, but people love this one.

Spared softened cream cheese on lunch meat ham slices. (the kind that are rectangular and all the same size work the best.) Also salty ham not sweet works the best with this.

clean a green onion and wrap the ham and cream cheese around it. Cut into 3 small sections. Continue and serve as an appetizer. Easy, fast, tastey. People loves these. :thumbsup2

I actually make this all the time. I was hoping for more of a spread but if all else fails that is what I will do. :)

Crab Meat dip:

Saute 1 stick of butter and 1 medium sized minced onion until onion is soft. Add 1 block of cream cheese. Stir until melted. Add 2 or 3 cans of lump white crab meat (I like the Oreans brand). Season with Tabasco, onion powder, or anything else to your liking. Serve warm with crackers. It is delicious!!!!

Mix a cup of candied ginger, and enough milk to soften. Serve on club crackers.

That does sound tasty! :thumbsup2

small can of crescent rolls
block of cream cheese
1/2 package Hidden Valley Ranch dressing

unwrap rolls, do not seperate, press seams together. place on cookie sheet.
Take cream cheese and place in the middle of dough. Sprinkle all sides of cream cheese with HVR dressing. (use only half) Fold dough over ceam cheese to make a 'package'. Brush with beaten egg yolk if you'd like. Bake according to can directions. Until light brown.
Place on serving plate.
Serve with crackers, bread cubes, vegetables.
Delicious!

Olive Dip

1- 8oz Pkg Cream Cheese
1 can of chopped black olives
Blend...thin slighty with milk if needed.

Makes good sandwiches, too.

Another great crab meat idea is:

soften cream cheese and put on plate. Poor cocktail sause on it and then the drained can of good crab meat on top of that.

Really good and really easy.

I went for a year with no milk or egg at all (DD was allergic to it.) I think I am going to gain 5 pounds this holiday season just to make up for all I couldn't eat last year. Cheese and cream cheese is a weakness of mine.

My girlfriend mixed cream cheese, confectioners sugar, and amaretto for a party once and it was yummy!
