Name at least 3 ADRs you reserve every WDW stay...looking to broaden my horizons.

We shall see.. will definitely stop at Homecomin for cheddar drop biscuits..and moonshine..on our "rest" day lol...
It's great to try new things and I'm sure you'll enjoy it but yeah, it won't scratch that itch for Homecomin'. Have an awesome trip and hope you end up scoring that Space 220 (one of our faves, too) ADR!

I know there are similar threads but I am headed to WDW in a month and I have at least 3 restaurants we always reserve...and a couple that i would if they were ever available.

2 adults around 50 yo.
2 children..8 and 12.

My current 3 must do's every trip
Sanaa
'Ohana dinner.
Homecomin' brunch (morning of departure day..the the thigh cheddar biscuits taste extra delicious with our tears).

Honorable mention goes to Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic package...that restaurant gets a bad rap but have never had a bad meal there..especially the steak.

Space 220 lounge is a unicorn so would be part of all trips otherwise.

So I know my choices aren't necessarily outside the box...my kids are starting to appreciate the Sanaa bread service and the Ohana noodles as they get older..so looking to maybe expand my.horizons and try something new.

Caveat: no buffets. I don't mind them (I will often break from the family for a solo Biergarten visit) but overall we shy away (Tusker was a 1 and done).

Also there are a couple shellfish allergies in our family.

So looking for a place that I can look forward to with my family every trip to perhaps replace one of those 3 up there (ohana will probably never be replace

I can’t make that error post above disappear. Sorry
Looks like most go for fine dining. We are different. We are nostalgia and experience driven
LeCellier
O’Hana, Crystal Palace breakfasts
Sc Fi drive in
San Angel
New fav is Space 220, but on dining plan this time

Trip starts Tuesday...Melrose fantasmic....ohana...sanaa....boathouse...still trying to get the space 220 lounge unicorn
Last fall I was able to score a last-minute Space 220 lounge. We showed up probably 30 minutes early since I'd finished Guardians and it was too hot to wander around, so we camped out in the shade near the Space restaurant entrance. The CMs asked us and we said we were just hanging out until our time. They were able to get us in even sooner which was awesome.

If any of the free dining alerts are still around, try those! Have a great trip!!

Our trip is in a couple of weeks. We're still trying to finalize dining because like you, I've been changing things :)

I still really want to try Homecomin' and Boma, but always end up canceling them since we're not nearby, etc. This trip I'm not even going to try for those. Right now we have 'Ohana breakfast, Steakhouse71 lunch, and either Biergarten or Beaches and Cream (I have this one booked) for DD's birthday, she can't decide!

Thanks..my trip is on its penultimate day..so far stuck to ohana and sanaa...with boathouse branch sunday...thanks for the 220 tip but the food and wine booths have been awesome so no real loss...and of course satuuli...primo piatto.. all still consistently great.

Wow..literally a minute after the last post...closing animal at 7 and headed over there before the midnight Magic Kingdom closing.

Awesome!!
Enjoy the rest of your trip!

ETA: Wait, are you able to go? I just realized it says November 9.

(Also, thanks for the reminder about Primo Piatto. We're doing Jollywood when we go and looking for something nearby earlier today. We talked about going there a while back and it totally fell off my radar. I think that's our meal before going to DHS :) ).

Yes tomorrow is our last day..leaving sunday..perhaps I used penultimate wrong..might be a little dizzy from the world showcase haha.

The usuals we eat are as follows:
1. Chefs de France is our first night. My girls love the food.
2. San Angel Inn since my girls love Mexican food and my wife is Hispanic so we eat a bunch of Hispanic dishes and flavors.
3. Tony’s since the girls love spaghetti and there aren’t many good options in MK.

Last ADR tomorrow based on your suggestions..
Boathouse...will let you know if it's a keeper for us (saw some reviews and can't see how the filet minon sliders can be nothing but awesome)

1) Sci Fi Drive In Fantasmic Package--expensive, but we love the nostalgic vibe and it's nice to not have to worry about Fantasmic seating.
2) Rose and Crown Fireworks Package--see above lol
3) Sanaa bread service, although now we're closing on an AKL DVC resale I'm pretty sure we're mainly gonna be mobile ordering and bringing it back to the room for some bread service animal viewing!

We don't make ADRs in advance, just day of. It's fun to play restaurant roulette. And, yes, we have always done this even when my son was a toddler so even with kids it's doable. If we want a TS meal, day of around 3 or so we just hop on MDE and see what's available either at the time we want or the park we want or the resort we want. We actually used to go to GS and have them do it for us but it's easier on MDE now. We have discovered some places we probably wouldn't have thought of otherwise.
I am also getting much more relaxed about the ADRs as my kids are older (and more able to be hungry/make informed decisions about what they want to eat) and also as we have tried so many restaurants now.

This is making me rethink our Thanksgiving week trip....
Same here with biergarten...I need to sneak away and do this by myself whenever there.
This was a favorite pre-pandemic when my kids were little because they'd spend half of dinner dancing with the oompah band. Are they back to having dancing on the dance floor? we went once in 2021 or 2022 and it was more of a performance and less interactive.
Need to remind myself each trip to not sweat out these ADRs 60 days out...folks are canceling left and right during their trips and most everything will fall into your lap if you pack your patience.
True, one difference is heavy holiday times - I have a few free alerts set up and I get beaten to the ADR.

Here's us - kids are 13 and 9 and developing foodies (although the 9yo does still tend to order pasta at Space 220, still). When they were younger, we would do at least 1 ADR a day because we needed the break: we'd take an afternoon pool break, shower, "dress for dinner" with the girls in princess dresses and adults in dressy wear. Usually after dinner we'd go to bed. Now the kids want to park commando all the time, last 2 years we've closed down MK and EP at EEH, and the grownups need the break! But the kids will often want to do QS or specific food booths now. And because the kids are park commandos, we tend not to go to DS.

I'm helping a family of first timers with little kids plan a trip with ADRs so this is good practice for me...

Our top 3 (on our 7+ day trips, we try to go to all of these):
  • California Grill
  • Flying Fish
  • Topolino's (dinner and/or/and breakfast)

We also try to try at least one NEW (or new in the last 10 years) restaurant. Upcoming (Thanksgiving + birthday) trip we're trying Shiki Sai and San Angel Inn, and not going to our top 3, in favor of DD2's birthday.

Other frequent choices:
Character meals: Artist Point (love the Queen!); Topolino's breakfast; Garden Grille; Crystal Palace; 1900 Park Fare

Epcot: Le Cellier, Teppan Edo (Biergarten, see above); Space 220, the wine cave in Italy*
HS: Brown Derby (the Cobb salad and grapefruit cake)
MK: Be our Guest; Skipper Canteen**
AK: Tiffins (the whole fish and the butter chicken, and the theming!!), Tusker House

*we discovered the wine cave 10+ years ago - no reservations, no one really went in. It was dark and cool, it had meat and cheese that DD1 as a toddler would happily eat, and DH and I could enjoy some wines. It was such a calm and peaceful adult place that we were able to bring our kid!

**best cast members (almost a tie with the Queen at Artist Point): we visited when the restaurant had been open a month or so, and I asked our server how long the restaurant had been open and he answered very seriously, pointing at the banner, "since 19.." (whatever it said, 1911? something) I just laughed and he kept a totally straight face.

We also love Victoria & Albert's but that's not an every trip thing LOL. One wedding anniversary and a 50th birthday...

Yes the kids can dance again at biergarten.
At this point we just do what we know we will like...and.rarely stray from that..this thread was to get opinions what we should try...so we did and we thought the Boathouse was pretty good...it had the Sunday brunch with Piano Rob...really cool..took any requests. I thought the filet Sliders were incredible..the burger was meh...I have a shellfish allergy so was limited a bit...loved the Shipwreck cocktail..had a few of these.
Our favorite places continue to be ohana, satuuli, captain cooks (those meatballs)..garden grill breakfast was expensive but worth it. I ate my weight in those cheesy potatoes and bacon..felt like a block of cement riding Soarin' after.
I plan on a father son trip next August and will probably introduce him to biergarten..and maybe try backyard bbq.
Edited to add that the corndog stand on the Boardwalk was great...still thinking about that street corndog...and helping my kids with that mozzarella stick..yum

I know you are just trying to get some alternate ideas about places to eat but by the time this thread goes on I think almost every restaurant at WDW will be mentioned!! So still very confusing as to what to choose, but its fun to see what others think>

I ended up tallying all the responses and ended up with the top choice- Boathouse. My trip finished on Sunday <sniff>...and I really appreciate the feedback and conversation....and I am planning on an August 2025 trip so will keep returning to this thread.
