My Zenni vs GreatEyeGlasses.com Experience

I ordered 2 pairs, one from each, a day apart.

On the ordering process, Greateyeglasses has the .5 in each PD, so double the choices for the best PD fitting. Zenni only has the whole nimbers. Socre one for GEG.

The Zenni order said it would process in 24 hours, the greateyeglasses.com said expect 2-3 weeks for delivery. The Zenni took a LONG time to arrive and the GEG came a couple of days later. Greateyeglasses.com 2-Zennioptical 0

The actual glasses from greateyeglasses look like a good fit for the lenses. The Zenni lenses are not flush with the front of the frame...the thickness of the lens not only sticks out fom the back of the frame, but also the front. It looks awkward. GEG 3=Zenni 0

I was really surprised. I expected Zenni to win after reviews here. One neat thing with GEG website is a place to load your photo and you can "try on" the frames. Very helpful.

I know Zenni gets a lot of kudos here, but I had a terrible experience with them. I ordered my son's glasses in October and got them in February! They got caught up in customs and Zenni customer service was horrible! You would have thought they would have just sent me another pair out, but they did not. They kept telling me they were on their way.

I ended up ordering from 39dollarglasses.com with a $10 coupon I found online. The glasses came in 3 days with free shipping and were great! I like that they are American based too. Zenni has a US address, but the glasses are made and ship out of China.

To each their own, but reliability is a big deal for me. If you're buying an extra pair of glasses, Zenni might be a good choice, but if you NEED the glasses, I wouldn't risk it.

I had a HORRIBLE experience with Zenni as well, never did understand all the love they get.

I hadn't heard of GEG before, so I will have to check them out! Thanks OP!

The more I look at the ones from Zenni, the more yuck I feel. The edge that sticks out the front of the frame isn't even polished, so it has the honed white patchy look in spots. Zenni did come in a hard case in a envelope and greateyeglasses.com arrived in a soft case in a box. Both likely equally protected for shipping.

But yeah, as someone said, I am not feeling the Zenni love.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one having a problem with Zenni. I just returned my second pair of defective glasses from them and they will only give me credit of 50% back if I order the exact pair of glasses for the third time!

FYI: I found a coupon for JC Penny optical for 2 pairs of glasses for $88.99. I am going tonight to try them on and order. The coupon says "any frame up to $120"
