Multi Pass Question

We are going last week of Oct 2024. We are a group that all likes different things... Some people like "thrill rides, some like more basic roller coasters and then there is me who does go on any roller coasters...

We have a group of 4. I find that often I dont need the use the multi pass type of system nearly as much as my kids or even my wife.

My question is:

Can we split up our options? Meaning... do all 4 guests need to be on the same attraction at the same time? Or can i split say my son and wife to go on a coaster and me and my daughter to go on something else?

You can absolutely split and do different things, as long as you remember each person gets one Tier 1 and two Tier 2 attractions in the park you purchase (unless it's AK, where there are currently no Tier 1s).

Yes, when you go to book the LLMP, it will ask who all is in the party. I believe at that point you can just click on who wants certain attractions, then do the others. You also can get the attractions and then you have 5 minutes to modify before you have to purchase.

this is helpful, but along those lines, what are your thoughts about forgoing the multi pass for little ones (4 & 7)? I’m thinking we can use ride swap with the four adults in our party and save $50 a day by not buying multi pass for the children.

The thing to keep in mind is each time you don’t purchase/book LLMP together that person rides alone. E.g. if you book an attraction for only you, the rest of the family will either need to wait for you or, ride standby and you’ll end up waiting for them. I think the 4 & 7 yo’s will want to ride a lot if the LLMP rides in MK. If you don’t buy it for them, they will either miss out or, someone will need to stay back and ride standby with them. I would recommend looking at the list of attractions before making this decision.

You’re right. There are a number of rides at MK that the kids will ride and then again a couple at the Studios. Getting the multi-pass on those days might be a good trade off. Thanks!

We were told by a cast member that this is ABSOLUTELY NOT what ride swap is for. Apparently if the first riding group has LL they can only issue a ride swap if the person riding in the second group also has lightning lane. However, they usually don't look at the names that come up when you scan, so one possibility is to have two of the adults give their bands/tickets to the kids and only 4 people ride each ride using LL. Personally, I'd spend the extra money and avoid the headache.

my priority would be the opposite. As an adult, I can handle standing in a 30-40 min line. My 4yo - not so much. For me, the main value of Multipass would be to get the kids through the lines quickest and avoid all that comes with forcing a 4yo to stand in a long line. But as a practical matter, I think either the whole group gets the LLMP or no one. Splitting up and managing different ride times will become such a headache that you might as well split up and just agree to meet up for lunch/dinner.

Yes, you can definitely split up your group at Walt Disney World, and you don't all need to be on the same attraction at the same time. With the Genie+ service or Individual Lightning Lane selections, each person can reserve a different attraction if they prefer. So, for example, your son and wife can use Genie+ or Lightning Lane for a roller coaster while you and your daughter book a different, more relaxed attraction at the same time.

This flexibility allows everyone in your group to enjoy the experiences they prefer without having to stick together all the time.

I would recommend taking time to read up on Lightning Lane Multi Pass (LLMP) and Lightning Lane Single pass (LLSP). Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes (ILL$) were retired 2 months ago and replaced with LLMP and LLSP. LLSP is much the same but LLMP is quite different.
