Gang, there have been posts on here regarding the horror stories at resorts, and most specifically the housekeeping. It kinda gets old to read posts like, "except for the housekeeping, everything was great. We've already booked our return..."
If it IS indeed so bad, that you just say it like its a common thing, only to say youll be coming right back..Then at least posts WHAT you didnt like about the housekeeping.
Getting everyone horrified about dirty rooms etc, and then saying how youll come back, dont jive, to me anyway.
So, please if anyone has complaints about the housekeeping. PLEASE BE SPECIFIC!:hippie:

We've never really had any problems with housekeeping at WDW. We are definitely not your "white glove test" type of family however. There has been a time or two where housekeeping seemed to come very late in the day. We were using the room at the time and just told them to skip it and got some new towels! The way I look at it is we don't clean our house every day and change all of the sheets, etc. so it's no big deal if we skip a day at Disney. I realize though that not everyone looks at it this way.

When I was at POR we had two Mousekeepers who came every other day. The one gal was really nice and did a really good job of cleaning. I don't think the other gal even cleaned once, she just left towels. She didn't even empty the garbage, so on the days that she was "cleaning" I had to walk the garbage down to the maintenance area to empty it myself. I don't care about dusting, or changing the sheets daily, but to not even empty a garbage can was a little much to me. At least I got the towels! ;)

That was my only complaint about anything at POR, which is why I'm going back.

I do. Yes, you are paying for the room and that includes housekeeping. But it's not going to break my arm to make a bed or give me cooties to use the same towel two days in a row.

BTW - our housekeeper at Pop Century a few weeks ago was absolutely great. But I didn't gush over that in my trip report because it was no big thing. But I would have put it in my trip report if the housekeeping was lousy. We complain but we don't praise.

In the 23 years we've been going (and more than once a year at times) we've only had one bad housekeeping experience. Arrived around midnight to find dirty linens. I won't say what was on them. Also, pantyhose on the floor in the room. Other than that the room was cleaned. Seemed to us that someone, who knows who it may have been, found the room open and utilized it. They credited us I think two nights. Never really had any other problems to date. I'm sure it happens from time to time.

what Im gettin at here, is that those who DO encounter housekeeping issues should be more specific. Linens?Lavarotory? No towel animals?what?
If you have a housekeeping issue, state it..not just "housekeeping"..kinda vague:confused3
thats all. Glad to hear that MOST NEVER encounter ANY issue with housekeeping..:cheer2:

I thought the responses were pretty specific. If that is the worst people have to complain about, then you have your answer.

We found leftover pizza and soda in the fridge at CSR when we checked in. No big deal... we tossed it and went on with life. Room was always tidy, beds made (although sheets only changed once during the week), clean towels, toiletries. We never did have any towel animals, but we didn't mind. All in all, housekeeping does a great job.

OP I understand what you mean. You are just saying please be specific, plain and simple.

I Have to say the only problem we ever had was that they did not leave us soap, shampoo, coffee for the coffee maker and clean towels. They took away the old ones, so I think it was just an oversight. When we called mousekeeping we were told they were busy but someone would be there in about 30mins. 10mins later someone came with towels and a Large bag of soaps, shampoos, lotions and coffee, (we were set for the rest of the week). After that we had no problems. We go several times a year and over all we really haven't had any problems. I think most times it is an oversight more than deliberate. When you consider the amount of rooms that are in one resort, especially during high peak times, you can usually expect that ocassionally there will be some kind of mistake. The important thing is that it is addressed. On a simular note, during our stay at the Portifino at Universal, we had checked into our room to find some kind of large sticky stain on one of the pillows. We called housekeeping and with in minutes both a housekeeper and a supervisor came to our room. We were even given a follow up call the next day. I think if you travel enough you are going to occasionally run into some kind of incovience. Just remember to speak up, and if your needs are still not met, ask for a supervisor.
